    Material Planner

    THE PURPOSE OF THE MATERIAL PLANNER ROLE IS TO:

    • Manage the Supplier's portfoli(Internal and/or External suppliers) for ensuring goods delivery at right time and place based on Alstom needs by expediting delivery needs tsuppliers and animate the Supplier's delivery performances.  Drive action plan for performance improvement & contribute for risk management.

    THE MAIN RESPONSIBILITY WILL BE:
     Missions

    • Expedite delivery needs from Suppliers
    • Follow up deliveries and ensure the availability of goods for Alstom projects
    • Monitor Supplier's performances KPI's
    • Participate/lead tSupplier's performances improvement (animation)
    • Contribute with SC inputs for supplier selection

     Tasks

    • Internal suppliers: Manage Purchase Requisition flow up tMaterial Planning documents
    • External suppliers: Follow up with Sourcing the Purchase Requisition level maturity for launching Material Planning documents
    • Ensure and update the accuracy of material planning master data (in compliance with stock and logistic constraints)
    • Create the Material Planning documents (Call-off, Schedule Agreement) & respective Source List
    • Communicate the Material Planning documents tSuppliers and follow Suppliers confirmation
    • Analyze Suppliers confirmations vs. Alstom needs and evaluate the risk/impact anticipation on production/projects
    • Identify priorities associated with risk/impact anticipation and set up recovery actions
    • Maintain a routine with Suppliers in order tcheck the status of deliveries
    • Analyze and manage MRP (Material replenishment planning) exception messages and anticipate supply problems (backlogs, shortages, ndemand…).
    • Maintain delivery dates in ERP (Enterprise resource plan (SAP)
    • Track missing parts until stock availability
    • Ensure non-conformities replacement
    • Resolve Receiving issues (overstock, shortage, damage, documentation, etc.)
    • Analyze and share deliveries performances KPI's with different stakeholders (Internal & External)
    • Collaborate with Material Planning Management/SDPM ( Supplier Development performance Management ) tvalidate worst Suppliers and define appropriate action plan (adapted governance: LSCA (Light Capability Assessment), LCA, etc...)
    • Apply appropriate communication routine with Suppliers based on their delivery performances
    • Drive and follow (when involved) Supplier Capacity Assessment
    • Drive and follow (when involved) Supplier's Light Capability Assessment (LSCA) 
    • Contribute tnew business risk assessments and mitigation action plan

    The preferred candidate will meet the following requirements:  

    •  Minimum National Diploma in Supply Chain or related discipline
    •  Minimum of 3 years working experience in the Supply Chain 
    •  Railway industry knowledge will be an advantage
    •  Knowledge of Material Planning within the Supply Chain scope
    •  Experience with ERPs, Supply Chain concepts, processes and continuous improvement, 
    •  Fluent in English.
    •  Driver’s license 
    •  National travel might be required, therefor the candidate must be flexible and willing in this regard.

    Serial Production Coordinator 1

    Job Purpose

    • The purpose of this job is to schedule and control the daily operations on the production line, so that they are manufactured on time in accordance with the Master Production Schedule/Repairs Schedule as well as lead all line supply integration issues between Planning, Production, Quality, NCR, Logistics and Procurement. This is a key support function for manufacturing. The Serial Production Coordinator Production line scheduler ( Is this the same person ?) makes the link between industrial planning, PrSCL, logistics and manufacturing to ensure on time execution of operations

    Key Responsibilities

    • At project starting, initialize all line feeding flows (what must they do?)
    • Check plan orders readiness to ensure work orders can be launch on time and analyze exception messages of the MRP
    • Convert Planned Orders (MPS) into Work Orders and launch them on time in production
    • Follow-up daily the progress of Work Orders through close exchanges with EPU/Line managers and provide visibility dashboards on materials availability for task sequences
    • Ensure that priorities as planned in the MPS are clearly displayed and updated at shopfloor level (visual management) - Alert the planning team/supply chain manager about issues impacting plan execution (missing parts, quality issues, production stoppage, technical data) does the MPS not have all of this embedded? NO, They perform this task. Its what makes their role critical to production
    • Analyze deviations with manufacturing, PME and Quality, and propose short term recovery actions in order to catch-up the committed plan Provide the line-feeding priorities visibility to the logistics team in order to secure the production does this position have the weight to do as proposed in this line? Yes, this is part of what defines this roles synergy to production and the MPS
    • Secure the internal production flows by monitoring production of sub-assemblies
    • Follow-up subcontracted operations and ensure their execution on time in collaboration with procurement/logistics/production
    • Check data accuracy related to BOM/Routings in collaboration with Logistics and Industrialization
    • Collaborate with quality team in order to prioritize incoming inspection and quality issues priorities
    • Contribute to the footprint updates needs with Logistics methods
    • Manage the information workflow of work orders: job release, production time recording (COGI), material consumption and shipment process to customer for compo/sig sites (in collaboration with logistics and/or ERP team).
    • Follow-up customer deliveries complaints and assist with closing the NCR
    • Contribute to minimize the product throughput time and maintain optimum WIP open ended) Synergy with production in maintaining the Takt time and maintaining standard work in progress inventory
    • During project closure, participate to inventories to secure last manufacturing takt times - Respect EHS rules and involved in SOV (safety observation visits)

    Minimum Requirements

    • National Diploma in Industrial Engineering, Logistics Supply Chain or related
    • Experience in production scheduling/sequencing or operational supply chain with relevant usage of ERP (ideally SAP) in a manufacturing environment. 3 – 5 years’ experience.
    • Knowledgeable of industrial planning, logistics, inventory management, procurement
    • Good knowledge of MRP and Production Scheduling tools
    • Good level of data analysis and reporting

    Deputy Project Director

    PURPOSE OF THE JOB:

    • Coordinate and assist the 23E Traxx TSSSA project in close cooperation with Engineering Manager / PrSM / PrSCM / Corridor Managers / Overhaul & Repair Manager and reporting to the Project Director (PD) any progress, deviation and risk from the Service execution.
    • Ensure the application of Environment Health & Safety (EHS) policies, local regulations, and professional standards

    POSITION IN THE ORGANIZATION –

    MAIN OFFICE LOCATION:

    • Alstom Southern Africa Cluster - Located in Fourways 

    KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:

    • In compliance to EHS (Zero Deviation) and Regulatory standards, he/she assists the Project Director on operational coordination of all project activities related to Technical Services and Supply of Spare parts, including:
    • Daily contact with project core team for project progress and related issues
    • Support the Project / Customer Director in negotiations on all critical variation orders, claim and contractual / revenue issues
    • Ensure the application of  plans, procedures, Work Method Statements, in compliance with standard processes and products specifications
    • Provide inputs to the Project Director for DFQ, Work Package management, Monthly Progress Reviews and Critical Project Reviews.
    • Coordinate site activities, including sites facilities, resources plan, site access, tools
    • Coordinate and assist the Corridor Managers, including monitor the quality and delivery through site visits, coordination meetings, inspections, and assessments
    • Coordinates activities of project personnel to ensure project progresses on schedule and within prescribed budget
    • Confers with project personnel to provide operational advice and to resolve problems
    • Coordinates project activities with guidelines of government regulatory or other governmental agencies
    • Liaise with Third Parties such as facilities providers, Civil Work partners, etc…
    • Continuous improvement:
    • Contribute to best practices definition and REX within the Product Line
    • Propose update/improvement of the way of working, process, tools and RefLib
    • Oversee compliance to APSYS, EHS (Zero deviation) through, site inspections, people assessment etc…

    • Achievement of financial targets of the project (i.e.: project margins compliance, project cash flow in line with targets, kip’s fulfillment, etc.).

    • Timely and accurate Project Review (CPR/RPR) & Monthly PR.
    • Monthly reporting accurate and on time.

    Depot Engineer

    Job Purpose

    • Executes the Services Engineering activities in the project
    • Main interface between product development Engineering team Rolling Stock(RS) and manage both the Integrated Services Readiness (ISR) and Maintenance Teams on deliverables during the product development phase i.e. To be involved in Rolling stock Design For Quality (DFQ) cycle for managing the Designs/ Changes to be ready for maintenance and after warranty phase during maintenance activities

    Key Responsibilities

    ISR

    • The production of Engineering Documents
    • (Maintenance documentation, Training, Special tools and test benches, Spare parts)
    • Manage ISR activities for DFQ and Design for Serviceability (DFS).
    • Manage coordination with central Function and other Métier or Function to ensure integration and compliancy with standard and best practice (REF LIBRARY/ DFS, etc)
    • Promote usage of standard ISR practice compliant with international standard or central procedures and Method & Tools
    • Capitalize data to improve QCD on future projects
    • Coordinate production of Return of Experience (REX) report upon execution with focus on applicable ISR Ref Library update, identified needs for process improvements and possible proposals for best practices

    Maintenance

    • Ensure all Work Instructions (WI), Maintenance Instructions (MI), Maintenance and Safety Bulletins including all other associated Risk assessments necessary are produced to the relevant standard and presented for sign off in a timely manner.
    • Produce clear and concise technical documentation in the form of specifications, test procedures, modification instructions, maintenance and safety instructions and technical reports.
    • Lead optimisation of the maintenance schedule and casualty repair procedures considering service experience and Operations feedback including:
    • Justification of inspection periodicity
    • Specification of materials and tools
    • Arranging and carrying out validation of tasks
    • Carrying out product/process audits of depot maintenance and casualty repairs
    • Assist the customer or the company Front office as necessary to diagnose train defects where technicians require guidance.
    • Escort the Customer during Routine Condition Audits and undertake product and process audits as required ensuring the integrity of the fleet and maintenance processes
    • Manage the production and maintenance of the Bill of Material (BoM), and WI.
    • Manage the production of the preventive & corrective & overhaul LCC
    • Continually review all Maintenance, Reliability, Overhaul, and associated documents to ensure all are up to date and correctly formatted
    • Assist in parts identification, creation of material reference numbers and obsolescence management.
    • Produce, update training material, and perform training externally and to the internal team.
    • Act as a technical expert continuously develop expertise in selected field
    • Continuously improve Training material and sustain Trainer qualification in order to provide Training courses at the expected service level
    • Obtain Training accreditation i.e (SETA, TETA, etc)
    • Support the Hotline / Help desk service to the customer at the expected service level

    Minimum Requirements

    • BSc/B.Eng. Degree (Mechanical Engineering) with 3 years working experience, rail knowledge is advantageous.
    • BSc/B.Eng. Degree (Mechatronics Engineering) will be considered.
    • Registered or Registerable as a Professional Engineer with ECSA
    • Knowledge of subsystem engineering
    • Safety and Engineering standards knowledge, rail knowledge is advantageous
    • Knowledge of Reliability, Accessibility and Maintainability Aspects
    • Life Cycle Cost/ Reliability, Availability, Maintainability and Safety (RAMS) experience

    Mechanical Computer Aided Designer (CAD)-General

    Job Purpose

    • Performing 3D modelling, design optimisation, design annotations and dimensions.
    • Checking 3D interfaces for external design.
    • Applying applicable Mechanical Domain instructions, processes and tools.
    • Technical support to manufacturing line, Sourcing for localisation scope and Quality for parts inspections.

    • Verifying consistency of digital mock-up (no clash, etc.) and compliance with requirements (allocated volumes, weight, interfaces, etc.) on assigned scope.
    • Preparing and documenting Mechanical Domain Design Reviews according to N+1 instructions.
    • Updating Digital Mock-Up taking into account Change Requests.
    • Checking other CADs' and sub-contractor's Design Quality
    • Realizing stack-up analysis.
    • Realizing Bill of Material.
    • Root cause analysis for fleet defects and Performing Detailed Design on internal solutions.

    Minimum Requirements

    • Mechanical Engineering Diploma.
    • 3D Modelling in CAD software.
    • 1 year post graduate work experience.

    Special Requirements

    • Structured and organised with Hands-on approach.
    • English basics in read/writing.
    • Good communication skills: verbal and written English
    • Computer Literate - MS Office packages.
    • Attention to detail and strong mechanical technical understanding.
