    Service Center Technician

    Job Description

    • Execute repairs according to specifications or an advanced repair task.
    • Validated equipment skills and/or able to evaluate and confirm repair/service requirements and repair/service quality, e.g. inspections, quality evaluation, testing, service reports.
    • Share knowledge and support in competence development.
    • Be engaged in problem resolution with relevant 4 Years experience in the similar field
    • Suggest improvements for products and working procedures.
    • Engaged in 5S, safety and quality and immediately call for service centre management in case of problems/risks.
    • Minimize number of workshop hours.
    • Develop and inform him/herself.
    • Optional: coordinate, plan and support the daily work of the team/shift.
      • Knowledge on decanter and high-speed separators
      • Qualification as millwright or Fitter
      • Good communications skills
      • computer literate (word, cell and PowerPoint)

    Field Service Engineer

    Job Description 

    • The position will be responsible for the Preventive maintenance, repair, fault diagnosis and on-site servicing of Alfa Laval equipment’s, namely Decanters, Separators and Plate heat exchangers. The Service Engineer will be required to work across the region - envisaged travel will be 2- 3 weeks per month.

    Your primary tasks will be:

    Key Responsibilities & Objectives

    • The position will be responsible for Commissioning, Troubleshooting, Preventive maintenance, Audits, and on-site servicing of Alfa Laval equipment at customer site such as:
    • Commissioning and Troubleshooting High Speed separators, Fresh Water maker and heat exchangers in onboard ships.
    • Troubleshooting of Electrical / PLC controls (EPC controls, 2 touch, Basic & Plus controls) associated with Alfa Laval equipment.
    • Decanters used in food / Wastewater application.
    • Executing Audits and maintenance activities related to Service agreements.
    • Training customer crew on operation of Alfa Laval equipment
    • Preparation of service / audit reports with technical recommendations.
    • Safety Conscious “Think – Act – Behave Attitude”
    • Ad hoc participation in Service projects
    • We are looking for candidates with strong problem-solving skills who work structured and quality-conscious to provide our customers with high-level of service. It is important that you are flexible, independent, robust and thrive in a very active environment with much travel activity – acting as part of a dynamic team with colleagues around the region.
    • Candidates with past Marine Industry experience and high skills in troubleshooting of High-Speed Separators (PX Range, GT, Alcap types) and Heat Exchangers are preferred.
    • Should be sound in reading electrical drawings and capable of independent trouble shooting of Electrical control panels.

    Workplace & Hierarchy

    • The position is in Johannesburg, Service Centre South Africa and the work area is mainly focused on the installed base across the South & East Africa. The position will be reporting to Field Service Team Manager located in Johannesburg.

    Background

    • Minimum 6-8 years of experience in high speed and rotating equipment's used in industries.
    • Application knowledge in food and wastewater is an added advantage.
    • Strong skills in working with Electrical, PLC and Controls
    • Strong communication skills in English, (spoken and written), are essential, along with an understanding of Microsoft Office products.
    • Driving license is required.

    Project & Standard Order Handler

    About the job:

    • Responsible to execute and monitor the Order to Cash process for Standard Orders, Project orders from order acceptance to final delivery and invoicing.
    • The position has a strong demand to have a customer first mindset, willingness to be a part of our digital transformation and sustainability journey.

    Key Tasks:

    • Execute and manage the standard order processes (order to cash) via ERP System (iScala).
    • Execution of projects until hand over to the customer, involving delivery and commissioning
    • Place orders to internal factories and external suppliers.
    • Being the point of contact to the Customer and accomplishing the project goals taking support from BU Managers, P&A & Engineering & Supply team.
    • Communicate with customers and follow up on order acknowledgements.
    • Follow up & co-ordinate to ensure delivery is done in line with the incoterms, delivery time and agreed costs.
    • Timely escalation and resolution of issues arising during order handling / project execution process.
    • Handling Logistics / order administration – Review and finalization of shipping documents.
    • Timely Invoicing and submission of supporting documents for payments.
    • Commissioning of the Equipment: Coordinating with Service department for deputing field service engineers.
    • Order backlog and goods movement inventory follow up.
    • Ensure customer is always informed on the order status and respond to customer queries promptly.
    • Ensure compliance to standard business processes throughout order handling process.
    • Develop intra organizational network to ensure smooth and timely execution of customer orders.
    • Effectively communicate with factories, suppliers, and other stake holders within and outside the organization
    • Register and manage claims throughout the whole claim handling / investigation process.
    • Should be able to work under pressure collaborate with different stake holders and prioritize customer needs according to changing business objectives.

    • Project management experience.
    • Minimum 6-7 years of experience in Order Handling/Project Management  with a multinational company.
    • Working experience with Letter of Credits, LC documentation and Trade Finance.
    • Working knowledge of commercial Incoterms
    • Knowledge of logistics with a knowledge of import export process & documentation
    • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office
    • MicroSoft Projects or similar proficiency as highly desirable
