    Machine Minder - Handyman

    About the Job

    Job Description

    • We at RCL FOODS are in search of a Machine Minder - Handyman to join our Baking Division in Speciality. The role will be based in Worcester.The purpose of this role is to maintain and operate processing line machinery to ensure optimum production and to maintain the condition of the machine(s). The successful incumbent will also be required to perform general maintenance onsite.

    Duties & Responsibilities

    • Operating machinery efficiently daily.
    • Start up and shutdown of equipment.
    • Safety inspection and reporting.
    • Assist with breakdowns and services on equipment.
    • Ensure machine related documentation are completed timeously and accurate.
    • Must comply with Food Safety Standards, and previous Food manufacturing experience will be an advantage.
    • Dissemble and assemble equipment between shifts for cleaning.
    • Diagnose and correct minor adjustments, and flag potential breakdowns.
    • Inspect, operate, and test machinery, equipment, to diagnose machine malfunctions.
    • Achieve desired shift production targets.
    • Monitor that power tools, hand tools and maintenance equipment are kept in good working condition and stored.
    • Perform duties as per requirements to eliminate down time or eliminate hazards / safety.

    Minimum Requirements

    • Matric / N3.
    • A first line Maintenance course or equivalent would be an added advantage.
    • 3 years or more working in a Technical environment.
    • Strong Mechanical / Electrical hands-on experience.

    R&D Intern

    Job Description

    • RCL FOODS is seeking a R&D Intern to join our Milling Division. The role will be based in Pretoria West and will report to the R&D Manager.
    • The Internship will take place for a duration of a 12 month period. The Successful Candidate will be responsible for administration and will also help with updating FS and Quality Management system documentation.

    Duties & Responsibilities

    • Assist R&D Technician / Manager in the development of new products as per the project brief.
    • Screening of all raw materials to ensure they are suitable for the application and/or manufacturing plant.
    • Responsible for testing alternative ingredients for cost or quality improvements
    • Conduct product shelf life tests and complete reports
    • Competitor benchmarking
    • Assist with setting up tasting sessions and preparation thereof
    • Assist in internal and external customer presentations

    Quality Assessments

    • Conduct softness, texture, volume and water activity tests, where required.
    • Basic interpretation of data collected from the quality assessment instruments

    Administration & Reporting

    • Maintain the sample register & library
    • Recording and archiving of all laboratory trial data
    • Recording of all recipe revisions during the product development process.
    • Compiling of all test bakery reports
    • Completing shelf life test reports

    Minimum Requirements

    • BSc or BSc(Hons) in Food Science or equivalent qualification

    • RCL Foods is seeking a Customer Nett Revenue Manager to join our Customer Marketing Team in the Food Division. The role will be based in Westville, Durban, and report to the Customer Marketing Executive.

    RCL Foods entrusts the Customer Nett Revenue Manager with:

    • Supporting the Customer team and help drive our mission of unlocking NRM growth opportunities.
    • Working within the NRM Centre of Excellence (COE) and support the customer team on promotion, optimization, pricing and assortment strategy, and trade spend transparency capabilities with analytical tools, processes, and insights.
    • Connecting and effectively partnering with our customer team while actively working closely with the commercial team to steward, drive action, accountability and value-based decision making aligned to NRM principles.

    Duties & Responsibilities

    • Delivering the NRM strategy and framework as defined by the COE and BU/OU.
    • Analyse profitable growth strategies by assessing, recommending, and activating opportunities on price & pack architecture, promotions, trade terms, and other custom analytics.
      • Assist in the creation and implementation of promotional guidelines by category and channel based on post evaluation of previous activities, elasticity studies and best promo pricing practices.
      • Assess and improve return on trade investment.
      • Trade term optimization.
      • Upgrade and improve price competencies and tracking.
      • Identify and embed insights to impact annual customer business plans as well as supporting longer term strategic direction.
    • Work with Customer team to enable more trade spend transparency from gross to net price.
    • Manage the evolution, quality and delivery of price and promotion models with your commercial NRM counterparts.
    • Accountable to scorecards for tracking and implementation.
    • Assist in the development of Category Thought Leadership trade propositions.
    • Ownership, development, and delivery of NRM training to enhance knowledge and usage of NRM tools and concepts across the customer function.
    • Partnering with 3rd party NRM consultants.
    • Developing strong partnership across Sales, Commercial, and Marketing to truly integrate NRM integrated decisions and plans.

    Minimum Requirements

    • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, Sales, Business, or related field.
    • 5+ years’ experience in net revenue management.
    • Experience in the Fast-Moving Consumer Goods industry.
    • Demonstrated experience in customer marketing or sales strategy.
    • Strong technology skills with Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel and PowerPoint.
    • Strong technical ability in tools such as Circana, Nielsen, Insights, Askd, Dunnhumby etc.
    • Demonstrated financial aptitude and analytical skills.
    • Strong interpersonal communication skills.
    • Excellent people, leadership, and team interaction skills to allow for maximum influence on key stakeholders.

    Duties & Responsibilities

    • Capture and maintain all training data on the HR Manage system with accuracy.
    • Assist with coordinating Training interventions and events.
    • Preparation of training material.
    • Schedule Training events for delegates and facilitators.
