    Audit Manager - Durban

    Job Description    

    • An opportunity has become available in the Audit Division of Mazars in South Africa; an international professional services firm, based in Umhlanga Ridge, Durban.
    • You will be an instrumental keyplayer within its #OneTeam by providing  high quality audit services to clients and valuable mentoring, direction and guidance to audit teams.

    Duties and Responsibilities    

    • Produce client reports (Audit Strategy Memorandum, Audit Completion Memorandum, Management letters etc.)
    • Propose and finalise audit opinions (including Key Audit Matters where applicable)
    • Review financial statements (separate and/or consolidated) in terms of IFRS, Companies Act and JSE Listing Requirements
    • Audit assignment budget planning and project management
    • Monitoring and evaluation of performance in relation to budget
    • Conduct full audit file reviews and related reports to ensure the relevant files are ready for sign off and locked down within relevant period
    • Manage resourcing and plotting of staff members on audit engagements
    • Work allocations as required by individual audit assignments
    • Ensure audit planning documentation is completed
    • Managing team productivity
    • Perform billings, manage WIP and debtor collections
    • Performance management of staff members including, continuously providing feedback to staff
    • Mentoring of team (Formal and Informal)
    • Provide technical assistance to staff members
    • Maintain excellent client relationships
    • Business Development
    • Contributing to and facilitating Learning and Development (self and team)

    Minimum Requirements    

    • Qualified CA
    • Minimum 1 year previous experience within an Audit Supervisor/Manager role (non negotiable)
    • Previous experience within the Public Interest Entity sector is preferable
    • A thorough knowledge of IFRS, Companies Act and JSE Listing Requirements
    • Management of large Group Audits is preferable

    Assistant Audit Manager - Durban

    Job Description    

    • An opportunity has become available in the Audit Division of Mazars in South Africa; an international professional services firm. 
    • This opportunity will be based at our Kwazulu Natal offices located in Umhlanga Ridge.
    • To ensure successful completion of assigned audit engagements, whilst directing daily activities of trainee accountants on those engagements, reporting to Audit Managers and/or Partners.

    Duties and Responsibilities    

    • Provide junior staff with clear direction, goals and objectives
    •  Delegate work appropriately and fairly to trainee accountants
    •  Set appropriate standards and create a positive work climate
    •  Provide coaching and/or training to improve performance
    •  Perform audit fieldwork
    •  Produce reports that are clear, concise and error free
    •  Applies technical expertise and analyse data affectively
    •  Finalise and propose audit opinion
    •  Complete timesheets
    •  Maintain effective client relations
    •  Manages own and other’s time effectively
    •  Monitors progress and performance against deadlines and milestones

    Minimum Requirements    

    • Qualified CA (SA) 
    •  Successful completion of audit traineeship (articles)
    •  1 year's experience in a senior/supervisor role
    •  Proficient in application of IFRS, IFRS for SME’s and ISA 
    •  Proficiency in Caseware 
    •  Ability to complete an entire audit file and to delegate and follow-up on tasks
    •  Excellent writing, reporting, planning and organising skills
    •  Perform mentoring and supervisory role to staff on specific audits
    •  Able to maintain a proper working relationships with team members
    •  Demonstrate integrity at all times
    •  Proactive – being able to plan projects and activities well in advance
    •  Able to work productively in high pressure environment
