    Senior Analyst : Market Transparency and Risk Management Department

    Key Performance Areas

    • Provide support in the implementing and administering of the CRS Act, Conduct Standard - Requirements relating to the provision of a benchmark and any other subordinate legislation.
    • Initiate and conduct routine market conduct on-site inspections of CRAs and FBA in terms of the Risk-Based Supervision approach.
    • Review and recommend for approval or refusal of applications for licence, amendments, exemptions, and outsourcing arrangements for CRAs, and assist the licencing division in the review of applications for license for FBAs. 
    • Conduct relevant research to improve the standard of regulation in line with national and international developments and requirements.
    • Participates in and contributes to discussions regarding possible regulatory and policy direction on the regulation and supervision of CRAs and FBAs.
    • Represent the department at relevant internal and external meetings, committees, and forums in line with stakeholder engagement plan. 
    • Assist in the compilation of routine reports and commentaries within the set timelines.

    Requirements

    • A bachelor’s degree in finance, economics, accounting, or law with at least 5 years of experience in the financial sector and/or the regulatory environment within the financial services industry. Good knowledge and/or experience of the functioning of the financial markets, credit rating services or financial benchmarks will be an added advantage.

    Senior Analyst : Market Issuers and Intermediaries Department

    Key Performance Areas

    • Assist in Identifying shortcomings and anomalies to the regulatory framework;
    • Assist in proposing changes to the regulatory framework and assist the Department with the implementation of such changes;
    • Assist to develop and maintain an effective and efficient supervisory framework within the context of the approved legislation;
    • Assist with the monitoring of compliance with the provisions of the Financial Markets Act and subordinate legislation;
    • Assist to plan and conduct inspections;
    • Liaise with and render appropriate regulatory guidance to stakeholders after consultation with the Manager; 
    • Consider licence applications and make recommendations;
    • Assist in conducting investigations regarding Market Infrastructures and to ensure that all relevant complaints are dealt with; and
    • Apply risk assessment and risk management techniques

    • The applicant must demonstrate the following skills and attributes: strong analytical abilities, attention to detail, active listening, critical thinking, strong financial and numeracy skills, good communication skills (verbal and written), ability to work in a team, Ability to work independently with minimal supervision, innovative and strategic thinking.     Requirements

    • A business, economics, accounting, finance or Mathematics degree or similar with 3 to 5 years of experience in the financial sector and/or the regulatory environment within the financial services industry. The candidate must also demonstrate an understanding of financial markets, financial instruments and the mechanics of Market Infrastructures. Good knowledge of corporate governance frameworks. Good knowledge and experience in financial analysis and risk management are essential.
