    Associate Director Hydropower

    • Lead Hydropower design and studies ranging from prefeasibility studies to detailed designs.
    • Review hydropower and dam designs and costing.

    • .Lead digital innovations within the hydropower and dams space to make the delivery of projects more efficient.

    Minimum requirements

    Overall Purpose:  

    Minimum Requirements:

    • BSc or BEng in Civil Engineering  
    • Pr. Eng Registration with ECSA
    • Pr CPM Registration with SACPCMP will be an advantage
    • Minimum 10 years working experience in Contract administration as “Employer’s Agent”, “Engineer”, Principal Agent” or similar
    • Experience as Contract Engineer on SANRAL projects is non-negotiable

    Role Responsibilities

    • Collaborate with structural engineers to develop detailed documentation for bridges and other structural projects.
    • Create and maintain AutoCAD / Revit drawings and details for structures / bridge projects.

    Role Overview:

    • A Secondary Plant Transmission and Distribution Engineer is responsible for the design, and implementation of secondary plant systems in transmission and distribution networks. This includes protection, control, and automation systems that ensure the reliable and efficient operation of electrical power systems. 

    Responsibilities:  

    • Zutari's Energy Unit in Cape Town/Tshwane is seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer/Technologist to join the team and provide assistance and guidance on a range of projects relating to Transmission and Distribution.  
    • The candidate should have experience in detailed secondary plant design and commissioning in the utility and renewable energy projects in Africa.   
    • This is a great opportunity to join an engineering consultancy focused on delivering engineering solutions that enhance the lives of individuals across the globe.  
    • The candidate will also be responsible for building meaningful relationships with local and transactional clients across borders and closer to office 

    The suitable candidate will also need to have the following skills and requirements: 

    • Develop functional, concept and detailed designs for secondary plant systems for MV, HV and EHV systems, including specifications, protection schemes, control systems, and automation solutions. 
    • Proficiency in using engineering software tools for design and analysis (e.g., PowerFactory, ETAP, PSCAD). 
    • Strong understanding of protection schemes, relay coordination, and SCADA systems. 
    • Knowledge of industry standards and regulations (e.g., IEC, NRS).
