    PPA Sales Manager M/F

    As part of the Power Sales activities of Voltalia, and in collaboration with the other PPA Sales Manager, you will perform the following tasks:

    Business Development:

    •  Establish the strategy and set up an action plan to generate new contacts and incoming requests: communication, participation and potentially organization of internal and external events such as conferences, exhibitions, round tables, third parties partnerships ;
    •  In close collaboration with internal teams, manage and process incoming requests from prospects or customers: qualification of requests for information (RfI), qualification of requests for quotations (RFQ) and private or public tenders ;
    •  Establish the first contacts with prospects / customers and qualification of their needs;

    Sales:

    •  Lead the origination of longterm newbuildassetbacked PPAs (both offsite and onsite), prepare commercial offers; lead the commercial negotiations and securing PPAs for each newbuild renewable projects;
    •  Follow closely the evolution of the renewable energy market in terms of consumers, services, offer structure etc.

    Contracting :

    •  Manage contract negotiation with Corporate ;
    •  Manage contract closing and validation through Contract Committee and Investment Committee ;
    •  Manage customer and thirdparty quality verification (KYC – Risk Credit) ;

    Structuration :

    •  Survey national rules, public regulation and electricity wheeling scheme ;
    •  Participate to the development and the structuration of new offers as per South African market specifics;

    Reporting:

    •  Implement sales reporting with KPI on the realized actions ;
    •  Update the reports on offers being processed and potential offers;
    •  Define the necessary corrective actions after the analysis of the KPIs: adjustment of the typologies of prospects or targeted sectors of activity, modification of the offers etc.

    REQUIREMENTS

     

    • Graduate School of Engineering or Business School
    • At least 3 years of experience in the South African power market or renewable sector
    • Good commercial skills and connection among corporate offtakers in the South African market
    • Ideally first corporate PPA experience (structuring, tendering, contracting, and management)
    • Good knowledge of the economic and regulatory conditions of energy purchases and/or electricity wheeling scheme in South Africa
    • MS Office

    Environmental Specialist M/F

    The Environmental Manager plays an important role in the preservation of the environment. They will be responsible for managing environmental aspects for the implementation of projects in South Africa in line with South African regulations, IFC Performance Standards, EBRD Performance Requirements and Voltalia Health, Safety, Environment and Social (HSES) Standards.

    Key Responsibilities include:

    •        To address and supervise EIA requirements;
    •        To manage all conditions set out in the Environmental Authorisation and EMPr;
    •        To supervise third party / subcontractors in the maintenance of monitoring programs and environmental management;
    •        To manage all data that comes from environmental monitoring activity;
    •        To evaluate test results and make recommendations for maintaining compliance with local norms and standards, as well as IFC standards;
    •        Coordinating with the Site Manager, H&S Manager and Social Manager to ensure conformity with the environmental and social management plan;
    •        Inspect construction sites frequently for environmental management plan implementation and compliance;
    •        To inform Voltalia’s team for every incident and to determine the management plan in order to reduce impact on the environment;
    •        To reduce the impact on local environment through pollution control, implement plans for controlling wastes, conservation of flora and fauna, removal of hazardous substances and hydrocarbons, management of water in accordance with the legislated and contractual requirements;
    •        Overview and coordinate environmental operations in order to ensure permit renewals and regulatory compliance;
    •        To inform and monitor Contractors with respect to environmental obligations;
    •        Provide training and assistance to the Contractors in terms of environmental management;
    •        To keep documents / permits / licences relating to environmental policies and regulation up to date;
    •        Ensure proper reporting to National, Provincial and Municipal stakeholders

    REQUIREMENTS

    •        At least 3 - 5 years of experience working in a similar position;
    •        Familiarity with the development and implementation of Lender’s E&S Requirements;
    •        Fluent in English;
    •        Strong grasp or fluency in other local languages is a plus.

    Senior Project Developer M/F

    • Work in close cooperation and contact with the Development Manager
    • Spearhead project development to Identify, develop and evaluate new and existing projects opportunities for solar, wind, storage and hybrid technologies in South-Africa;
    • Identify and secure land rights, grid connection feasibility, lead permitting and all authorizations until Financial Close using GIS and other tools, assisting in the project development process.Manage the day-to-day activities and contacts for the project, including subcontractors' and suppliers of onsite measurement equipment
    • Prepare and manage project budget & development plan in cooperation / guided by the Development team and Management

    Deputy Project Manager M/F

    Your responsibility will be to assist the PM of a plant within schedule, budget and quality :

    • Monitor and support management of the project and site activities
    • Attend and document meetings

    Project Manager M/F

    • Lead the Project on the preparation phase (Pre NTP) including Site team definition, documentation review and validation, procurement of all equipment and subcontractors.
    • Manage the execution of one or several PV Solar plants (utility scale) throughout its life cycle within schedule, budget, and quality.
    • Define the execution and subcontracting strategy for the project.
    • Always assure that the Works are executed considering (as a minimum) local communities, applicable environmental standards as well as Health & Safety regulations.
    • Achieve project completion on time, under budget and with the highest Quality and HSE standards.
    • Lead and take full responsibility on all Project controls processes: cost controls, contract management and scheduling.
    • Lead the project team members both within the function (engineering, procurement, construction teams, contract management, HSE),external within Voltalia (finance, asset management, etc) and external advisors (Owner Engineers, ED advisors, CLO etc).
    • Effectivilely commnicate all project stakeholder project progress and possible alternative plans to recuperate possible project deviations.
    • Direct interface with Client at project level.
    • Liaise with development and project finance teams to identify possible conflict on execution because of their different areas of concern (permiting and funding).
    • Identify the sources of likely problems and proactively take preventive measures to avoid any potential project risks and determine response actions to mitigate any negative impact (always have a plan B).
    • “No surprises” approach to project execution.
    • Management of the project contractual obligations.
    • Project reporting (internal and external).
    • Establish cost report and KPIs for control of the project.

    REQUIREMENTS

     

    • Master’s degree in Engineering (civil, electrical, mechanical, etc.).
    • Minimum 10 years’ experience in execution of EPC projects of medium to large size.
    • Minimum 5 years project management experience with medium and large size projects (preferably in the energy sector)
    • Having experience dealing with the local utility (ESKOM) with proven track of 2 projects already connected to the grid.
    • Master’s degree in project management or PMP is a plus.
    • Having experience in Contract, Risk and Procurement Management.
    • Deep knowledge on Project controls (cost controls, contract management and scheduling).
    • Consolidated knowledge in planning software (Project, Primavera, etc.).
    • Fluent in English,  other languages would be a plus.
    • Cost Control - Plan and prepare accurate project estimates. Establish cost report for control of projects.
    • HSE & Quality Management - Compliance with Voltalia policies and procedures. Implement lessons learned system.
    • Deep understanding related to the requirements set for in the Occupational Health and Safety Act 85 of 1993.
