    Senior Research Coordinator (post level 8)

    Duties and responsibilities:

    •    Develop guidelines addressing the research aspects to assist academic staff and postgraduate students.
    •    Organise and prepare staff and postgraduate students’ development/training and other events for the faculty.
    •    Coordinate, develop and present workshops relating to research. 
    •    Promote the culture of research in the faculty.
    •    Provide administrative support to the Vice-Dean and research related processes.
    •    Provide assistance and information related to research reporting.
    •    Co-ordinate, facilitate and provide support to research related committees. 
    •    Seek and disseminate information about research funding.
    •    Assist with grant writing.
    •    Write faculty annual research report.
    •    Identify and develop faculty specific approaches to address the training and development needs of academic staff and heads of departments.
    •    Report on research for the faculty on various institutional and faculty fora.

    Inherent Job Requirements:

    •    A Masters qualification on NQF level 9 in any health sciences field.
    •    Three (3) years' experience of working in a health sciences research environment.
    •    Proven experience in the delivery of oral presentations at conferences, seminar, workshop or equivalent activities.
    •    Proven evidence of producing research reports and publications. 
    •    Evidence of obtaining successful grants.

    Recommendations:

    •    Project management experience 
    •    Familiarity with the processes and structure of the department, faculty and university. 
    •    Experience in monitoring and evaluation.

    Driver and Messenger: Office of the Dean (post level- 16)

    Duties and responsibilities:

    • Inspect your delivery vehicle for any maintenance needs and reporting defects.
    • Maintain a clean and organized vehicle and obtaining each time a signature to confirm delivery of their products.
    • Possess knowledge of how to handle materials safely.
    • Use navigation systems and reading maps.
    • Manage time effectively to ensure deliveries are made on schedule - for local and national deliveries.
    • Hold vision and hand-eye coordination to stay safe while driving.
    • Possess physical ability to load and unload heavy cargo.
    • Assist on daily duties and activities - messenger work and ad hoc duties.
    • Display willingness and ability to work reliably on a flexible work schedule, Monday - Friday and some weekends or where pre-planned on public holidays.
       

    Inherent requirements:

    • Grade 10 on NQF level 2.
    • A code C1 drivers' license (attach a copy).

    Recommendations:

    • A minimum of two (2) years' relevant working experience as a driver.
    • Professional Driving Permit (PDP) (attach a copy).
    • Advanced Driving Course (attach a copy).
