    Supply Chain Supervisor

    Purpose of Role

    • The Supply Chain Supervisor is responsible for the efficient coordination of the smooth flow of materials from suppliers, internal or external suppliers, including interproduction unit transfers into the distribution centre/main stores.

     Work of Role

    • Support customers with special orders
    • Identify more effective suppliers for customer needs
    • Ensure that materials are handled in a safe and legal manner
    • Establish procedures for abnormal work requirements which fall outside of standard procedures
    • Administration of necessary department systems
    • Support the overall operational management of the production
    • Prepare adhoc reports for management or other information customers
    • Compile accurate reports

    Protection Services Officer Specialised

     Purpose of Role

    • This is a specialist investigation role and will be responsible for conducting investigations at operation level. The role reports to Protection Services Superintendent and is expected to apply best practice investigation and surveillance techniques in order to monitor high risk situations, apprehend criminals and investigate breaches of security. Personal risk is a factor in the role due to the nature of criminal investigations.

    Work of Role

    • Effective investigations to support security risk management
    • Conduct investigations in line with set procedures and to the best practices applicable to the situation
    • Ensure that safety and legal standards are adhered to in performing investigation duties
    • Provide effective feedback to clients on the progress and conclusions of investigations
    • Apply investigation tools, techniques and methodologies to support initiatives

    Junior Buyer

    Purpose of Role

    • The Junior Buyer is responsible for providing a supporting function to the Capital Buyer. Including general clerical work relating to the various computer systems, filing, photostatting, telephonic enquiries, tender enquiries and the placement of local operational purchasing requirements.

    Work of Role

    • Creating of tender enquiries and liaising with end users on the specific requirements

    Loco Team Supervisor

     Purpose of Role

    • The Loco Team Supervisor supervises the loco team and fulfils a shift role on a shaft. He is responsible for ensuring the safe operation of the locomotive and train in the transportation of materials, equipment, ore and waste to and from pickup and delivery points in a defined section of the mining operation.

    Work of Role

    • Administration of necessary systems
    • Supervises haulage tramming and transport
    • Ensures adherence to prescribed safe working practice
    • Oversees transport of specified materials and/or equipment
    • Oversees loading and transport of reef/waste from working area to tipping points
    • Checks for completion of prestart and daily maintenance checks on equipment and safety devices as well as daily checklists
    • Checks reports on breakdowns and substandard components
    • Ensures equipment and accessories are maintained according to planned maintenance schedule
    • Ensures that all safe practices are performed as specified in work procedures for each task
    • Constantly monitors environment and responds to substandard conditions as prescribed
    • Confirms amount and location of ore/waste with production teams and communicates to team
    • Ensures delivery of reef or waste to appropriate tipping points
    • Maintains required tallies of trammed reef or waste
    • Ensures flow of information within and across teams
    • Complete daily report at the end of each shift

     Qualifications

    • Grade 10
    • Loco Driver Certificate of Competency

     Experience

    • Minimum of 2 years underground experience in a tramming environment

     Purpose of Role

    • The bank team is responsible for the safe loading and unloading of material cars and equipment on the shaft, including their movement in the bank area surrounding the shaft head.

    Work of Role

    • Material is loaded in and out of the shaft conveyances as prescribed
    • Loads and receives and material cars to and from shaft
    • Compliance to all safety procedures in performance of tasks
    • Utilises safety devices and protective equipment
    • Maintains equipment and accessories to required standards
    • Moves cars from bank into conveyance
    • Unloads material cars and waste from conveyance to bank
    • Assists with sling loading of special materials
    • Assists with loading of special equipment and machinery

    Onsetter

    Purpose of Role

    • The Onsetter fulfils a shift role on a shaft and is responsible for the safe delivery of materials and equipment to and from the shaft stations and the bank through the use of the recognized signalling and transportation devices.

     Work of Role

    • Completes prestart and daily maintenance checks on equipment and safety devices at each station before commencing work
    • Maintains equipment and accessories to required standards
    • Diverts required material cars and hoppers from material way to station area

    Patrolperson

     Purpose of Role

    • The Patrolperson will be responsible for the application of routine security procedures within a Siyanda Bakgatla Platinum Mines operation to ensure that employees and assets are protected and will also include emergency prevention duties. Personal risk could be a factor in the role due to the need to identify and take action on incidents involving breaches of security.

    Work of Role

    Planned Maintenance Officer

     Purpose of Role

    • This role is responsible for the coordination, facilitation and management of the maintenance management programme for mines and plants by providing planning, control systems and implementation of policies and strategies for the management of equipment whilst optimising the interface with other mine and plant systems and functions.

     Work of Role

    • Effective coordination of the mine / plant planned maintenance program
    • Facilitates a fiveyear maintenance management strategy for the mine / plant
    • Facilitates cross functional engineering and production teams to minimize reactive maintenance
    • Establishes programs to minimize unplanned downtime on key equipment
    • Establishes cross functional teams to address cleaning, lubrication and first line maintenance functions
    • Develops RCM based task lists for all maintenance significant equipment
    • Identifies significant recurring failure patterns by analysing maintenance history
    • Ensures that preventative actions are implemented to ensure cost effective maintenance programs
    • On a daily basis, executes capacity planning and ensures that both preventative and corrective maintenance is covered
    • Ensures that the systems are properly supported
    • Develops critical spare parts lists through the use of a structured RCM methodology.
    • Ensures that a material management strategy is in place
    • Actively supports the codification and bills of material initiatives

    Qualifications

    • Trade Certificate
    • Maintenance Management Certificate
    • Law and Standards Certificate (Engineering Supervisory Certificate)

     Experience

    • Minimum of 5 years’ experience as an Artisan
    • Experienced in using a computerized planned maintenance system
    • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in the Planned Maintenance office  Advantageous
