    Mechanical (HVAC) Engineer/Technologist

    Main Responsibilities:

    • Design of mechanical engineering (HVAC) services for data centre / industrial type buildings.
    • Prepare design tasks, reports, technical drawings, engineering specifications and tender documentation.
    • Measuring and compiling of bills of quantities.
    • Perform site inspections and attend meetings.
    • Assistance in commissioning processes.
    • Provides expert contribution as project member, senior or lead.
    • Provide technical and administrative support with preparation of bid submissions.
    • Ensure that all quality system procedures are followed in the production and issuing of designs, costing, drawings and standard details.
    • Monitor quality, in order to guarantee delivered services/products are in line with all relevant (internal and external) guidelines/procedures.
    • Contribute towards improvement of existing products, techniques and services.
    • Mentor juniors as appropriate.

     Minimum qualifications, skills and experience:

    • MEng/BEng/BSc/BTech degree in Mechanical Engineering.
    • Professional registration with ECSA is preferred for Senior / Lead position.
    • Minimum relevant post graduate mechanical building services experience preferably within a consulting engineering environment:
    • 0 - 3yrs Junior
    • 4 - 7yrs Mid-level
    • 8yrs+ Senior
    • 10yrs+ Lead
    • Data centre / industrial / cleanrooms facilities experience is advantageous.
    • BIM experience using BIM authoring tools, i.e. Revit.
    • BIM360, Revizto, Dynamo and Python experience is advantageous.
    • Demonstrable mechanical engineering experience with an in-depth knowledge of building mechanical services - HVAC is required. Wet services, medical gas, mechanical utilities / industrial process piping, fire protection and fire safety systems expertise and experience is advantageous.
    • Extensive knowledge of relevant local and international standards and codes.
    • Ability to develop engineering documentation from first principles.
    • Knowledge of specialist mechanical engineering design software packages as well as MS Office, including Teams, Excel, Word, and Microsoft Project.
    • Good communication and people management skills for effective interface with other engineering disciplines, the client and contractors.

    Mechanical (Utilities/Wet Services/Fire Protection) Engineer/Technologist

    Main Responsibilities:

    • Work as a Mechanical Utilities/Wet Services/Fire Protection Engineer/Technologist providing drainage (sanitary, storm water as well as specialist effluent), fire (sprinklers and fire-fighting equipment infrastructure), potable/non-potable water reticulation (including hot water generation), medical gas and mechanical industrial utilities / process piping systems.
    • Efficiently engineer and model design using technical and 3D/BIM modeling skills.
    • Engineering the mechanical utilities/wet services/fire protection design in project teams as the Lead Engineer / under guidance of the Lead Engineer.
    • Develop line diagrams of the mechanical utilities/wet services/fire protection installation and coordinate with other disciplines for the initial space reservations.
    • Modelling the mechanical utilities/wet services/fire protection installation in 3D Revit/BIM based on the diagrams and coordinated space reservations.
    • Implement your knowledge based on functionality, mountability, accessibility and maintainability into the model to ensure that the contractor can build it according to our model without revising it.
    • Work within a multidisciplinary team across borders.
    • In addition to participating in projects, contribute to the optimization of internal business processes and to safeguarding and sharing knowledge within the field including mentoring juniors as applicable.

     Minimum qualifications, skills and experience:

    • BEng/BSc/BTech degree in Mechanical Engineering.
    • Professional registration with ECSA is advantageous.
    • Minimum post graduate relevant, multi-disciplinary mechanical utilities/wet services/fire protection building services experience within a consulting engineering environment - Mid-level 5yrs / Senior 5 - 10yrs / Lead +10yrs.
    • Revit experience required and Revizto capability advantageous.
    • BIM360, Dynamo and Python experience are advantageous.
    • Demonstrable experience in the mechanical utilities/wet services/fire protection engineering field with an in-depth knowledge.
    • Experience with data centres / mission-critical / industrial facilities advantageous.
    • Extensive knowledge of relevant local and international standards and codes.
