    Data Integration Specialist: Bakery Sales

    Job Main Purpose

    To apply data analytics to integrate and create meaning from diverse bakery sales data sets for actionable insights to guide and inform decision making/ problem solving; thereby supporting bakery strategy refinement and bakery sales operational management.

    Job Objectives

    To support ongoing refinement of the bread pricing strategy in collaboration with the Bakery Sales Executive by:

    • Collating and cleaning up data from a variety sources- internal and external (desk research, syndicated data, competition, etc)
    • Perform analyses on all internal and external bakery sales related reports to identify market trends and extract insights from the data
    • Identifying opportunities and trends across all channels
    • Comparing options to improve competitive position in marketplace considering the volume, revenue, profit and share change impact
    • Making recommendations to refine pricing strategies

    To provide analytics to support the bakery sales management team to optimise marginal contribution by:

    • Tracking all bakery related SKU‘s performance against agreed pricing and promotions compliance requirements
    • Comparing own and competitors SKU‘s performance
    • Maintain database SKU P&L model of each market and run simulation when required
    • Developing and maintaining a data base and dashboard for all SKU‘s marginal contribution per region and team in collaboration with the IT BI Team.

    Enable the bakery sales team to optimize the return on promotion spent in collaboration with the Bakery Sales teams by:

    • Analyze consumer promotion effectiveness by product, customer in the formal channels.
    • Interpret data interpretation in relation to pricing and promotions vs. Strategic intent.
    • Analyze ROI of trade spends by product, market
    • Develop viewpoint on elasticity of volume to changes in Trade spend etc by product, market.
    • Develop profitability waterfall at granular level that can be rolled up as required

    Support project implementation by leading the process and system design for new project through

    • Researching, benchmarking & implementing data set best practices
    • Acting as a project team member and sharing best practices
    • Supplying the required data as needed for the business case/ project scope
    • Conducting Periodic DILO‘s (field research) to gain practical insights.

    To support continuous improvement in the bakery sales information management processes by:

    • Identifying improvement opportunities
    • Participating in the Bakery Sales Management Invocom
    • Participating in corrective and preventative actions relating from the process improvement projects
