    Supply Chain Planning Lead (Protea) - Wadeville

    Overview    

    • This role entails developing and implementing effective supply chain planning strategies to ensure the smooth flow of materials and products throughout the company.

    Qualifications    

    • Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, logistics, business administration, or a related field
    • Certification in supply chain management (e.g., APICS) is desirable

    Experience    

    •  General Experience: More than 10 years
    • Managerial Experience : 3 – 5 years

    Duties    

    • Supply Chain Strategy: Develop and execute comprehensive supply chain planning strategies, policies, and procedures to enhance material flow, inventory management, and production scheduling. Align these strategies with organizational goals and objectives.
    • Cross-functional Collaboration: Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including procurement, production, logistics, and sales, to gather data, gain insights, and foster alignment on supply chain objectives. Facilitate effective communication and collaboration across departments.
    • Demand Planning and Analysis: Conduct rigorous analysis of demand patterns, including sales trends, and market conditions to accurately forecast sales in collaboration with the sales teams. Utilise forecasting tools and methodologies to improve accuracy.
    • Planning and Execution: Utilise supply chain planning tools and software to generate material requirements (production plans, procurement, and distribution requirements). Monitor and refine these plans to optimise resource utilisation, minimise lead times, and ensure timely order fulfilment.
    • Performance Monitoring: Monitor and analyse key performance indicators (KPIs) related to supply chain planning, such as forecast accuracy, on-time delivery, and inventory turns. Identify areas for improvement, implement corrective actions, and drive continuous improvement initiatives
    • Risk Management: Identify potential risks and disruptions in the supply chain, such as supplier delays, demand fluctuations, or capacity constraints. Collaborate with relevant stakeholders to inform robust contingency plans to mitigate these risks and ensure uninterrupted production and customer service.

    Procurement Manager Specialties (Protea) - Wadeville

    Strategic Sourcing:

    • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify cost-saving opportunities, drive supplier consolidation, and implement strategic sourcing initiatives.

    Procurement Management:

    • Oversee the procurement process, including requisition, purchase order creation, supplier performance management, as well as the identification and selection of suppliers, and negotiations with them on product selection, availability, and price for a large category of products 
    • Maintain accurate records of procurement transactions, monitor inventory levels , and implement effective inventory control measures.
    • Ensure compliance with procurement policies, procedures, and ethical standards while maintaining a strong focus on cost reduction and operational efficiency

    Supplier Relationship Management:

    • Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with Tier 2 and below suppliers , acting as the primary point of contact for strategic discussions, issue resolution, and contract negotiations.
    • Conduct regular supplier performance evaluations, monitor delivery timelines, quality, and service levels, and address any performance gaps in collaboration with relevant stakeholders.
    • Collaborate with suppliers to identify opportunities for innovation, process improvement, and cost optimization

    Continuous Improvement:

    • Analyse procurement data and performance metrics to identify areas for improvement, cost reduction, and process optimisation.
    • Lead or contribute to cross-functional projects aimed at enhancing procurement effectiveness, such as implementing new procurement systems or improving supplier performance metrics.
    • Stay abreast of industry trends, market conditions, and emerging technologies to drive innovation and best practices in sourcing and procurement.

    Compliance and Governance:

    • Ensure adherence to laws, regulations, and company policies in the procurement process.
    • Conduct due diligence on suppliers and monitor procurement activities for compliance risks.
    • Implement internal controls and collaborate with legal and compliance teams to address issues and improve governance, including audits

    • Analyse demand patterns, seasonality, and market dynamics to optimize inventory levels and minimize stockouts and excess inventory
    • Coordinate with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment between demand forecasts and production capabilities (manufactured items), procurement plan (purchased items), and logistics (distribution items)

    Inventory Management:

    • Monitor inventory levels, analyse stock movements, and implement inventory optimization strategies, such as safety stock management and ABC analysis

    Supply Chain Coordination:

    • Collaborate with internal teams to ensure smooth and efficient supply chain operations

    Continuous Improvement:  

    • Identify opportunities to streamline processes, improve efficiency, and reduce costs within the supply chain
