    Senior Engineer: Supplier Development

    CORE PURPOSE OF JOB

    The Senior Supplier Development Engineer (Technology Station Programme) is responsible for:

    • Scoping, costing, design, planning and execution of various mechanical engineering, product development, product testing, testing and manufacturing related solutions within short- to mid-term projects and ensuring their implementation within multidisciplinary teams.
    • The Senior Supplier Development Engineer needs to ensure that engineering, testing, and manufacturing activities are completed in accordance with the project scope, schedule, and cost. This includes coordinating team members and providing mentorship and training to junior staff and interns.
    • The Senior Supplier Development Engineer’s field of expertise is Mechanical Engineering, Project management and Product development & testing. Professional customer and stakeholder engagement is required, including business development, SME support, site visits/applications, training, and government stakeholder interaction.
    • This position is co-responsible for specific quarterly and annual targets related to supplier development, industry support and training, and must plan and implement activities to achieve targets. This requires diligent collection/management of required auditing evidence and documentation.
    • Responsibilities include engineering support to all eNtsa projects and facilities and conducting engineering tasks related to fixture development, mechanical systems design, failure assessment, materials & component testing, product/process development and maintenance tasks.

    KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS

    Engineering projects and problem solving

    • Interpretation and understanding of engineering data, test specifications, drawings, schematics, and computer-generated reports
    • Evaluation of engineering problems and requirements to make recommendations internally and to clients thereon
    • Conceptual development and detailed design of new and existing, fixtures, machines, and equipment (CAD and detailed manufacturing drawings)
    • Prototyping and fabrication of designs/concepts
    • Generation of project results reports, completion reports, and progress reports as required

    CORE PURPOSE OF JOB

    • The main purpose of this job is directing the design, development and deployment of digital solutions to enable the core and other support functions of the University with a strong focus on Business Process Improvement (BPI) and advancing smart campuses.

    Laboratory Assistant Biochemistry and Microbiology Science

    CORE PURPOSE OF JOB

    • To provide technical and laboratory assistance to the staff and students (undergraduate and post-graduate) in the Department of Biochemistry & Microbiology with regards to undergraduate teaching and postgraduate research and teaching.

    KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS

    • Preparation (including formulation and sterilization) of media, chemical reagents, solutions, consumables, and other items required to ensure proper and smooth execution of laboratory experiments.

    Systems Engineer ICT Services and Operations

    CORE PURPOSE OF JOB

    • Responsible for the administration of university core database and application systems, including the optimal performance, integrity, and security of these systems. Drives the adoption of cloud technologies within the Operations section to leverage its benefits for these systems.

    • The purpose of this post is to manage and co-ordinate the range of student Learning Development (LD) programmes on offer at the Nelson Mandela University. The incumbent is required to direct and manage the effective, professional and ethical delivery, co-ordination and development of these programmes, promoting their complementary offering to ensure the highest possible impact on student success.

    • To inform University staff, students and their parents, schools, further and higher education institutions, and USAf regarding the value of these programmes in enhancing student success and identifying and supporting  the developmental needs of students.
    • To develop, maintain and implement policies and procedures related to student success and to facilitate access to these programmes and assessment of these practices.
    • To manage the development and implementation of LD programmes, the databases to support these and wider university student success initiatives and appropriate research.
    • To manage the projects and the review process of the Applicant Score (AS) admissions criteria
    • To manage the human and financial resources in LD.

    Support Services Assistant: Cleaning

    CORE PURPOSE OF JOB

    • To provide cleaning services to the university community in relation to academic and support areas i.e., maintaining a clean and hygienic environment at the university
    • To provide an excellent, professional cleaning service to the university students, staff, and visitors.

    KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS

    • Cleaning of Mandela University Buildings / venues including corridors and public /outdoor spaces/areas.
    • General and deep cleaning of floors and surfaces (includes dusting (including high level or vertical dusting), sweeping/vacuuming, mopping/washing, scrubbing, polishing as well as carpet cleaning
    • General and deep cleaning of ablution facilities
    • General and deep cleaning of NMU buildings: offices, classrooms, staff rooms, libraries, conference rooms
    • General and Deep Cleaning of kitchens
    • General and Deep Cleaning of outdoor areas
    • Occupational health & safety
    • Collection of keys/swipe cards, cleaning consumables, cleaning equipment and accountability thereof.

    Lecturer: Radiography Health Sciences

    CORE PURPOSE OF JOB

    • To facilitate the learning process for undergraduate and postgraduate students intending to become radiographers

    • Conduct clinical teaching and assessment at accredited training facilities

    • At least one DHET accredited publication in the last three years

    Senior Lecturer Logistics Business and Economic Sciences

    CORE PURPOSE OF JOB

    • The core purpose of this academic post is to lecture at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels, conduct and publish research within the discipline of Logistics Management, supervise both masters and doctoral students, participate in engagements with internal and external stakeholders, as well as deal with administrative work within the Department of Logistics and the broader university. The candidate must have the ability to take a leading role in the development of programs and research niche areas and act as research mentor.
