    Accountant: Liabilities Expense & Payroll

    PRIMARY PURPOSE OF THE JOB 

    • To provide financial services including expense control and payroll processing ensuring compliance with relevant legislation, regulations and prescripts. 

    KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS 

    • Financial and Budget services 
    • Administration of payroll processing 
    • Financial reporting 
    • Continuous improvement 

    REQUIREMENTS:

    • Extensive Knowledge of PFMA, MFMA, Treasury Regulations, GAAP and other relevant legislation, regulations and prescripts 
    • Understand the public sector 
    • Computer skills 
    • Sound knowledge of accounting systems and packages e.g. Pastel or Caseware 
    • Knowledge of financial accounting principles, practices and legislative compliance 
    • Budgeting 

    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS / EXPERIENCE 

    • Minimum education required 
    • Graduate qualification in Financial Management/Accounting or relevant NQF level 7 qualification 
    • Completed Articles (Advantageous)

    World Heritage Specialist

    PRIMARY PURPOSE OF THE JOB 

    • To drive and implement the identification, inscription, development and preservation of world heritage, African liberation heritage as well as facilitate multilateral engagement and programmes that contribute to the heritage sector. 

    KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS 

    • World heritage Programmes development and implementation 
    • African Liberation Heritage preservation 
    • Sites Development and management 
    • Multilateral and sector engagements 
    • Resources Coordination and monitoring 
    • Continuous improvement of self and role outputs 

    REQUIREMENTS:

    • Interpret and apply the world Heritage Convention, National Heritage Resources Act and NDP 
    • Developing ideas, testing viability, business cases, projects 
    • Project and Risk management 
    • Lobbying and persuasion and sensitivity to shifting political dynamics 
    • Compiling strategic documents 
    • Research and writing skills 
    • Computer skills 
    • Negotiation Skills 
    • Ability to speak and write one of the UN languages is desirable 

    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS / EXPERIENCE 
    Minimum education required 

    • Graduate qualification in South African history, political science studies, anthropology, transformation, heritage studies or relevant NQF level 7 qualification.  
    • Required Functional Knowledge/Skills 
    • Knowledge of relevant legislation policies 
    • Excellent grammar skills 
    • Computer skills 
    • Working knowledge and understanding of the communication environment policies, knowledge and understanding of government 

    Required experience 

    • At least 5 Years’ relevant experience 
    • An added advantage will be experience in world heritage

    Communication Officer

    PRIMARY PURPOSE OF THE JOB 

    • To implement the NHC’s communication strategy, coordinating internal and external communication in line with the NHC’s vision, mission and brand identity.

    • Degree in Communication (majoring in public relations, journalism or corporate communication), National Diploma in Journalism, Public Relations or relevant NQF Level 6 qualification. 

    Required experience 

    • At least 3 Years’ experience in public relations, media liaison, corporate communication or relevant environment

    • Honours degree in the areas of South African history, political science studies, anthropology, transformation, Management, heritage studies and / or relevant related qualification, NQF Level 8 (Desirable) 

    Required experience 

    • 4-6 Years proven experience of management at strategic level 
    • 5 Years’ experience in Heritage Resource Management / Environmental or Biodiversity Management or cultural heritage conservation; Public policy development or Policy Analysis; Strategic Planning or Implementation; Oversight Reporting; Strategic Presentations; or experience in the corporate governance of public entities. 
    • 4-6 Years’ experience in the area of heading a public organisation or units of a public organization (Desirable).
