Job Description

MAIN PURPOSE OF JOB
To assist patients in all aspects of admissions and discharges in a professional manner; preventing operational and financial risks to the organisation and exceeding client expectations.
KEY RESPONSIBILITY AREAS
- Ensure admissions (including pre-admissions / bookings) are captured and processed as per procedure
- Identify and prevent financial risks by adhering to policies and procedures
- Ensure an effective discharge process as per the Patient Administration Manual
- Maintain patient confidentiality

- Admission; Bed functions; Preparation for next day and discharge processes
- Anatomy (including terminology)
- Hospitals switchboard systems
- Patient Administration policies and procedures (e.g. Patient Confidentiality; Cash Handling; Blacklisted patients; Bed Overrides; etc.)
- Patient admin programmes on the AS400 system
- Computer literate (Microsoft Office)
- ICD and CPT codes
- Medical Aid Schemes and the Private healthcare environment
- Workmans Compensation Act (WCA) processes; procedures and policies
- Emergency / Major Incident Protocol (e.g.. Fire; floods; robbery)

To present and facilitate Higher Education and Training programmes and courses to Mediclinic students and employees in order to acquire competence (incl. cognitive, psychomotor and affective skills) as independent healthcare practitioners on completion of training.
KEY RESPONSIBILITY AREAS
- Ensure compliance to Higher Education & Training and American Heart Association (AHA) standards
- Design and assess learning material and interventions
- Facilitate learning process, incl. theoretical and clinical facilitation
- Coordinate and administrate student-related processes
Required Education
ESSENTIAL EDUCATION
- Masters degree or Degree in Nursing or Diploma in Nursing Education, Advanced Diploma in Midwifery
DESIRED EDUCATION: PhD in Nursing
Required Experience
ESSENTIAL MINIMUM EXPERIENCE
- 2 years experience in a training capacity
- 5 years experience within a maternity environment
DESIRED EXPERIENCE: 2-3 years experience in field of specialist discipline

MAIN PURPOSE OF JOB
To support the HR service delivery model as part of HR Shared Services in delivering HR related transactional and administrative tasks to employees, line managers and the HR community through the use of self-help, ticketing, telephonic and technology resources.
KEY RESPONSIBILITY AREAS
- Provide Tier 1 human resource support to AskHR clients within stipulated service level agreements
- Optimise the service delivery of the Service Centre
