    Category Shopper Manager

    PURPOSE OF THE JOB:

    Responsible for developing Category strategies that will deliver the category vision by channel through changing customer & shopper behavior and driving purchase and consumption of the category and ultimately the brands. This will be achieved through a complete understanding of who our customers and shoppers are, what their needs are and how they behave in satisfying these needs. Commercial propositions for the business and our customers need to be formulated to ensure support for these category growth strategies.

    KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS:

    Market, Category & Business Awareness;

    • Demonstrate understanding of category consumption trends, consumer & shopper behavior as well as operator / retailer needs.
    • Demonstrate understanding of the company and customer strategies and the levers that influence profitability.

    Category Growth and Management Strategies/Plans;

    • Lead the development of a category and strategy which seeks to exploit incremental sales growth opportunities in existing and new environments.
    • Actions recommended in growth strategy to be based on solid consumer and shopper and operator insights that impact category performance.
    • Lead the analysis of market data (MWOW – McCain Ways of Winning) and base recommendations on solid interpretation of results and the implications for category and customer growth (size of prize).

    Customer Engagement on Category Leadership;

    • Conduct regular (quarterly) category reviews with priority customers, sharing insights and results that reach beyond the transactional sales engagements.
    • Develop / support all trade initiatives with solid trade / sales stories based on solid category consumption insights, leveraging the POP drivers of Price, Product, Promotion and Availability.

    Project Management;

    • Manage agencies and suppliers against agreed deliverables / timelines.
    • Manage the development and implementation of POS (Point of Sale) in outlets.
    • Manage Cycle planning meetings with distributors .

    Leadership;

    • Demonstrate ownership and responsibility (internally and externally for the implementation of Category growth plans.
    • Lead and motivate team to deliver category growth plans aligned to business strategy / objectives.
    • Team engagement, management and development.

    EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

    • Matric or equivalent.
    • Bachelor’s Degree in Business / Marketing.
    • Minimum 5yrs experience in category management;
    • Experience in retail (FMCG)as well as food service industries preferred;
    • Expert knowledge of Category management;
    • Expert knowledge of Shopper marketing;
    • Consumer Marketing experience beneficial;
    • Sales experience beneficial;
    • Project management skills required;
    • Computer Literacy including all Microsoft software (Excel a fundamental);
    • Ability to use data portals – 5One, dunnhumby, IRi etc.
    • Excellent presentation and communication skills.
    • Valid car license.

    • Commercial acumen.
    • Analytical skills.
    • Working knowledge and understanding of Category management.
    • Working knowledge and understanding of shopper behavior and shopper marketing.
    • Knowledge of the SA retail landscape.
    • Knowledge of the SA food service landscape.

    Financial Clerk

    PURPOSE OF THE JOB:

    The incumbent will be responsible for raising purchase requisitions/orders for approval for the site. He/she will also receipt consumables ordered and raise the necessary documentation in SAP/Coupa. Record and update field reports, stock levels of all farming related consumables issued.

    RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Update Monthly Financial Actuals & Forecast
    • Update Field Reports
    • Update Farm Equipment Maintenance Cost Report
    • Create Purchse Orders.
    • Verify and submit accuracy of time and information of temporary labour
    • Capture and submit diesel rebate Documents
    • Record and verify fertilizer and pesticides stock on hand

    REQUIREMENTS:

    • Grade 12 (matric) qualification
    • Minimum 1 - 3 years’ experience in a similar role  
    • Certificate in Finance/ Office Administration
    • Preference will be given to persons in a similar role
    • Must be fully literate and good numeracy skills
    • Ability to work productively in a stressful environment

    Plant Manager

    PURPOSE OF THE JOB:

    This role is responsible for the direction of a large team with multiple disciplines (maintenance, operations, safety and warehousing) with an understanding of external factors affecting the business. He/she contributes to strategy, delegation and collaboration with other functions as well as turning functional plans into business effectiveness and sustainability .

    RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Lead operations to ensure the safety of the people and assets
    • Create an environment that embraces diversity, equality and inclusion
    • Manage a highly unionized workforce and union relationships
    • Create a winning culture by creating, implementing and communicating the vision of the plant
    • Create an environment that promotes change for continuous improvement and competitive advantage
    • Build and manage a budget, continuously providing accurate forecast estimates while balancing financial results with other key performance results and managing cost reduction plans
    • Translate customer requirements and expectations and align with key stakeholders
    • Manage cost of quality through specifications and raw material optimization
    • Maximize plant performance by leveraging plant manufacturing technologies and processing best practices
    • Identify the correlation between manufacturing data, standard operating practices and financial results
    • Integrate and embed the continuous improvement culture
    • Align teams behind the regional priorities and ensure execution business priorities
    • Manage the plant’s sustainability projects
    • Develop relationships with both the civil and regulatory communities in which the Plant resides

    REQUIREMENTS:

    •  Bachelor’s degree in food science / financial or operational management / Engineering
    • A minimum  of 10 years’ experience in FMCG in a plant  manufacturing facility
    • A minimum of 5 years in a senior leadership role in manufacturing 
    • Strong financial acumen
    • Experience in Production, Quality & Warehouse Management
    • Good reporting and analytical skills
    • Experience in project management
    • Experience in CAPEX project management and implementation
    • A leadership development certificate and Financial management certificate
