    Occupational Therapist Level 1/2

    Job description

    • Provide a high quality Occupational Therapy service to patients and carers of the Maitland Hospital to ensure the provision of optimal health outcomes for patients of the service.

    • Qualifications recognised for registration with the Occupational Therapy Board of Australia and general registration with AHPRA as an Occupational Therapist.

    • Demonstrated clinical experience in a general inpatient acute setting, in the provision of therapeutic activities to enhance occupational performance, and in the prescription of home modifications and equipment.

    • Demonstrated commitment to professional development.

    • Demonstrated high level verbal and written communication skills with the ability to adapt communication style to suit the target audience.

    • Demonstrated ability to independently problem-solve and set priorities in complex situations.
      Demonstrated experience in and commitment to continuous quality improvement in service delivery.

    • Demonstrated computer literacy in a range of applications related to clinical work.

    • Eligibility to drive in NSW and the ability and willingness to travel for work purposes which may involve driving long distances.

    Executive Assistant

    Job description

    • The Executive Assistant provides a high level customer focused administrative support to the Executive Unit of the Lower Hunter Sector (LHS) to enable achievement of key objectives in a timely, reliable and efficient manner.

    • The Executive Assistant also provides support to a range of practice development, consultative and educational functions and this role plays a proactive and integral part in ensuring that administrative responsibilities and project management are undertaken in an efficient and professional and timely manner. One of the key requirements in this role is the capability to be flexible and adapt work practices to suit circumstances. The role is extremely complex and has a very demanding schedule of pre-determined tasks, commitments and deadlines which are constantly changing and growing. The role requires an effective communicator with highly developed interpersonal skills.

    • Demonstrated experience in providing administrative and secretarial support at a senior level including a proven capacity to operate effectively in an environment demanding confidentiality and discretion in issues management.

    • Demonstrated ability to anticipate and meet the needs of senior management without instruction, to exercise initiative and to work unsupervised.

    • High level written and verbal communication skills including sound negotiation, interpersonal, liaison and problem solving skills, as well as and experience producing a range of complex business correspondence, reports, submissions, presentations and documents for conferences and education sessions.

    • Extensive experience in diary management, preparation of agendas, and the organisation of complex meetings, including minute taking, typing, collating, distributing and follow up of action items.

    • Proven proficiency in using PC based software including advanced level of proficiency using Microsoft Office Suite (word processing, spreadsheets and graphics) and network operations.

    • Proven high level of organisational skills including the ability to effectively prioritise workload and meet deadlines.

    • Sound understanding of the expectations of a high performing Executive Assistant role, its demands, and work environment, with a proven ability to work in a team environment whilst portraying a professional image at all times.

    Midwifery Unit Manager

    Job description

    Lead a clinical services team to provide excellent woman centred care within a hospital environment in order to maximise the health outcomes for the community in which the clinical service functions.

    • Effectively manage the day-to-day operations of the clinical service including clinical, operational and people management.
    • Registered Midwife with current Authority to Practice with APRHA and demonstrated experience in midwifery management.
    • Demonstrated ability to build a cohesive service focussed team through coaching, mentoring and guiding team members.
    • Demonstrated ability to manage conflicts and overcome resistance when initiating and implementing change strategies within a team.
    • Demonstrated ability to apply and share professional expertise to immediate work and the work of the team to enhance service delivery.
    • Demonstrated service excellence focus evidenced by the ability to plan for and act on issues quickly, decisively and effectively to either enhance service delivery or manage situations impacting on achievement of service delivery outcomes.
    • Demonstrated influencing and negotiation skills necessary for resolving service delivery and workplace issues and mentoring team members in conflict resolution.
    • Demonstrated ability to maximises the allocation and utilisation of resources to achieve service delivery outcomes through a broad range of strategies.
