    Senior Specialist Employee Relations

    RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Accountable and responsible to provide effective and credible advice, to the Ford Manufacturing team on labour relations processes and procedures
    • Ensure the  sound and effective practical and consistent implementation of labour relations interventions across the Silverton operation
    • Building and maintaining of constructive relationships between union and Manufacturing supervision and management
    • Advise and consult upon and  facilitate & implement  IR structures & procedures for the day-to-day practical aspects of an IR function
    • Ensure the successful and consistent management,  implementation and application of disciplinary and grievance procedures and policies
    • Implement and maintain a comprehensive IR administration system
    • Maintain and update all labour related policies and procedures, ensuring the enforcement and adherence of these policies and procedures by advising and monitoring management and staff
    • Undertake comprehensive preparation for and representation of the company at the CCMA and remain conversant with all CCMA rules and processes.
    • Develop and conduct Industrial Relations related training to Ford Manufacturing management, supervision and team leaders
    • Facilitate the implementation of weekly meetings between management and organized labour
    • Facilitate the implementation of regular engagements between HR Business Partners and organized labour
    • Facilitate and maintain a sound working relationship with unions and union officials
    • Monitor, review, and suggest interventions to optimize collective agreements
    • Consult and advise management and employees with regard to labour legislation, policies and procedures
    • Monitor internal and external labour relations trends and submit relevant reports
    • Facilitate and conduct negotiations/consultations at national level within the framework of the company’s policy.
    • Conduct all company retrenchment consultation with representative Trade Unions
    • Support and maintain sound work relationships between employees, union and employer bodies.
    • Monitor, review, and recommend interventions to optimize collective agreements.

    QUALIFICATIONS

    • Honours or Masters degree in Labour Relations or Human Resources or LLB degree
    • Preference will be accorded to candidates with a LLB degree
    • 5 > years demonstrated application of the required skills and  related experience in a manufacturing environment
    • A strong background in Labour Relations is essential in a highly Unionized environment
    • Demonstrated experience and successful track record in representing employer at CCMA or Bargaining Council
    • Advanced knowledge of the written and spoken English language

    IPQ Electrical Technician /Auto Electrician

    JOB DESCRIPTION

    • Attend Electrical end of line Quality Meetings, update painters.
    • Attend Underbody line end of line Quality Meetings, update painters.
    • Layout parts to CAD as required for production personnel, PVT engineers and VRT members.
    • Communicate delinquent QR2 notices to suppliers and STA.
    • Track and monitoring supplier G8D responses to concerns including review of root cause and PCA analysis and corrective actions.
    • Support processing of all non-conforming materials and lease risk to plant MP&L organization of potential part shortage.
    • Track supplier corrective actions within the QR2 system and verify parts in-plant meet customer requirements with robust brake points.
    • Supervise Incoming quality inspectors to ensure they perform their functions and manage their workload.
    • Participate in the development and implementation of a Best-In-Class Quality Operation System for the IQ area.
    • Manage V.O.W, pending rejects parts and supplier caused campaigns with rundown plans.
    • Review Completed 8D reports with WebEx meetings with supplier and report on 8D tracker.
    • Review PFMEA with suppliers for defective parts where required.
    • Review control plans with suppliers for defective parts where required.
    • Review and analyze dimensional reports from suppliers including SPC.
    • Near Miss Identification
    • Segregation of PMHV & Pedestrians in IPQ quarantine area
    • Ensure Zero IPQ Caused Campaigns
    • Ensure Zero RED uncontained items on Plant Painters for supplier concerns with known cause in 24 hours.
    • Ensure Zero RED uncontained items for PIC room, QLS Boards, PDA and Surveillance.
    • Ensure Zero Suppliers CR's uncontained within 24hrs with known cause.
    • Ensure No Aging Pending Rejects >30 days without escalation.
    • Report out Daily on Vehicles on Wheels progress.
    • Ensure direct reporting inspectors follow up daily on open CR’s.
    • Ensure binning of all CR before 30 days unless it is on dispute.
    • Escalate repeated QR to coach.
    • Report all line stopper and Bits calls to Manager.
    • Track G8D to ensure at 15 days G8D received. If not at D8 then IPQ need to have G8D up to D4 with action plan for completion.
    • File supplier charge back within 5 days of all vehicles shipped and all parts contain
    • Ensure Absentees less than 3% per month
    • Prepare CCMD forms for Manager in support of daily PIC room
    • Ensure Supplier is invited to present their concerns in PIC room

    Plant Launch Team Manager

    JOB DESCRIPTION

    POSITION DETAILS

    • Interface with CPE, New Models/VO Launch leaders, Plant Launch leaders, Launch team, PD Engineering and STA.
    • Lead resolution of Launch issues via AIMS, CRs, FCP and other launch perfomance metrics.
    • Support AIM BINNING, Open To Go, Shortage, Start-Up Meetings, White Bpard reviews, Management Review, Launch Team Facilities, Build Scheduleng, FCPA, R202 Drive, Craftsmanship reviews, Night Letter, Alert, Onsite Modifications and Lesson Learn.
    • Provide direction and leadership and prioritize the activities to the  launch team.

    Participate in the virtual DPA-5 process to:

    • Provide manufacturing input to plant and VO engineering teams during the Virtual Build activities.
    • Supply current-state eQPS job instruction sheets and Cycle Line Layout (CLL) ACAD drawings
    • Verify the Bill of Material (B.O.M.) and the Bill of Process (B.O.P.)
    • Identify and address high-hurt issues early
    • Validate product/process compatibility, logging all discovered issues, communicating them to the Launch Team, and managing their resolution.
    • Represent the all shops in all launch activities and at each gateway review.
    • Communicate all concerns to the launch team for coordination and resolution.
    • Establish critical characteristics and apply design for manufacturing / assembly (DFM / DFA) principles
    • Coordinate tooling and facility changes and equipment installations with the Tooling & Facilities engineer
    • Develop a training plan with the LPWR Leader
    • Review all product changes, understanding the differences relative to the current product and their impact to all shops area facilities, tooling and processes
    • Review recommended process changes with the staff engineers
    • Work with the launch team to ensure that all representative tooling is in place and ready to support the pre-production builds
    • Assist the production personnel during the pre-production builds
    • Identify, track and resolve tooling, process and design concerns encountered during the builds
    • Make repair standards for new process availabl;e for Production team
    • Maintain training and versatility charts for all maintenance employees with LPWR Lead.

    KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS and ABILITIES (KSA)

    • LQOS and GPDS.
    • Able to work with a diverse team and adapt communication styles and content to appropriate audiences.
    • Effective communication skills to mediate disputes and uncover hidden objections or concerns.
    • Able to anticipate and resolve problems before they happen.
    • Must display strong customer orientation with a commitment to upholding plant processes through strict adherence to the Quality Operating System.
    • Must demonstrate the ability to execute to achieve results, while organizing and managing multiple priorities
    • Must have the ability to serve as a strong and confident technical mentor to the production organization (both hourly and salaried)

    QUALIFICATIONS and EXPERIENCE

    • Bachelor’s Degree in Industrial/Mechanical, Electrical Engineering
    • Minimum of +3 years Manufacturing and Program management Experience in Project Mangement.
