    Carer

    Job Description

    • Faircape Health provides the full continuum of care at six world-class healthcare facilities located on-site at six luxury, retirement villages.
    • The services of experienced, compassionate Carers for day shifts are required at our facility Heritage Manor in Somerset West. The successful incumbent will administer care to patients inclusive of frail, mental health, sub-acute and assisted living.

    Duties include but is not limited to the following:

    • The Carer is responsible according to the approved care plan by directly providing practical, physical, social and emotional care for residents at the healthcare centre. Carers contribute to the creation of a therapeutic and relaxing environment within the healthcare facility.

    Administration & Reporting

    • Chart and timestamp all activities on ECP as per procedure
    • Report to Duty Sister any changes or causes of concern in a resident’s condition

    Patient Care (according to care plan)

    • Attend to all activities as per the ECP care plan per resident and chart activity accordingly, including but not limited to personal hygiene, incontinence, dress, feeding and companionship
    • Maintain safe and therapeutic environment for all residents in terms of care plan and their personal diagnosis

    Company Policies & Procedures

    • Maintain awareness, understanding and adherence to company rules, policies and procedures
    • Treat all residents with respect and dignity

    Infection Control

    • Comply to all company policies and procedures regarding infection control
    • Maintain good personal hygiene as per the relevant policies and procedures

    Health & Safety

    • Comply with company health and safety standards in terms of activities of work
    • Be aware of duty of care and measures to protect vulnerable residents
    • Report any health and safety contraventions to the Duty Sister

    Activities & Exercise

    • Assist OT with the daily OT sessions
    • Assist the Carer Team Leader with Carer run activities

    Requirements

    Education and Qualifications:

    • Acknowledged Carer training from reputable organisation advantageous 
    • SETA accreditation will be an advantage

    Experience

    • Proven experience as a Carer or experience in a similar environment 

    Skills and Knowledge:

    • Skilled in basic computer knowledge
    • Knowledge of caring principles in caring for the aged, this includes:
    • Core carer competency skills
    • Dementia care
    • Palliative care
    • Rehabilitative care
    • Good interpersonal and communication skills
    • Work well with the elderly and have compassion for caring for them

    Pet Manager

    Job Description

    • The Faircape Group constitutes a group of companies with interests in a number of activities such as Healthcare and Retirement Holdings. 
    • Faircape Health, a division of the Faircape Group, owns and manages six luxury lifestyle villages with state of the art and technologically advanced Healthcare Centres at each village and one Sub Acute Care and Rehabilitation Centre.
    • Our facilities are pet friendly as Faircape Health and Life believe in the positive health benefits that animals bring with them, therefore we offer pet therapy for our patients and residents. 
    • Pet therapy is a guided interaction between a person and trained animal. The purpose of pet therapy is to help someone recover or cope with a health problem or mental disorder. 
    • This has led to us housing a few animals on our estates that require our attention and care. 
    • We are therefore seeking a Pet Manager that will be responsible for observing the pets at our Facilities and to be continually aware of appearance, behavioural or health changes, taking corrective action and informing management or owner as necessary.

    Duties include but are not limited to the following:

    Pet care in Healthcare

    • Arrange and accompany the Tokai Estate, Cle Du Cap and Noordhoek Manor cats to the vet for their annual vaccinations, also when there are any concerns for their health.
    • Manage and document the vaccination and flea treatment dates for all the cats at the healthcare facilities
    • Ensure any expense records or any expenses related to the animals are kept
    • Monitor and oversee the overall health and whereabouts of the Health Care Centre cats 
    • Keep up to date with the relevant procedures should an emergency arise
    • Ensuring that the monthly order regarding the cat food and litter for all the facilities are placed.
    • Liaise with the cats’ caregivers at each facility to ensure that all items needed are ordered, and any lost or broken items are timeously replaced.
    • Advising the caregivers of the cats at the healthcare facilities regarding any health or behavioural problems, and assist with possible solutions

    Pet Therapy

    • Ensure Pet Therapy Timetable is set up and kept up to date with daily pet therapy visits and interventions at all healthcare centres.
    • Recruit and set up new pet therapy volunteers or providers for each healthcare centre
    • Ensure that all volunteers are up to date with the relevant policies 
    • Arrange occasional events such as talks from animal welfare organisations, should the interest arise
    • Communicate with relevant Faircape staff members to set up events when required

    Qualifications:

    • Grade 12
    • Qualification in Animal Health / Canine Behaviour advantageous

    Senior IT Manager

    Job Description

    • The Faircape Group constitutes a group of companies with interests in a number of activities including Healthcare, Retirement Holdings, Telecommunications, Utility Management, infrastructure installation, Property Management and related activities.
    • Faircom, part of the Faircape Group, is a leading Internet Service Provider (ISP) and Fibre Network Operator (FNO) that connects you to the Internet through high-speed & uncapped fibre solutions, wireless fibre packages and VoIP connections.  We work with leading underlying infrastructure providers (including our own) which boasts a connection to the various Data Centres both locally and Internationally.
    • We are looking for a strong technical professional to join our dynamic company and provide the vision and roadmap for our IT division.  
    • The Senior IT Manager will drive continuous improvement and be responsible for overseeing our technology infrastructures and operations.  The successful candidate will also be responsible for ensuring the ISP’s network is performing, resilient and expanding market share . 

    Duties will include but are not limited to the following:

    Staff Management: 

    • Overall management of the IT Department 
    • Manage the following staff complement:
    • 4 Cabling Technicians
    • 1 ISP Support Technician
    • 2 Desktop Support Technicians
    • Schedule technicians for installations and site visits 
    • Provide guidance and task assignment to staff 
    • Identify training needs, motivate and uplift staff 
    • Draft, review and implement IT policies and procedures for the organisation
    • Ensure that staff adhere to standard operating procedures

    Support 

    • Google Suite Management and administration of the components thereof
    • Support and upkeep of company websites
    • Network health and upgrades, support and changes
    • Upkeep of VOIP platform
    • Ensure that all backups work optimally
    • Ensuring the company’s IT equipment (PC’s, laptops, phones, WIFI) is up to date and functioning
    • Maintain organisation’s effectiveness and efficiency by defining, delivering, and supporting strategic plans

    Projects

    • Planning, implementing & expanding the network
    • Overseeing and determining timeframes for major IT projects including system updates, upgrades, migrations and outages
    • New fibre rollouts, planning, budgeting, ordering, configuring

    Maintenance 

    • Identify and plan network changes and upgrades
    • Troubleshoot hardware and software issues related to internal IT
    • Ongoing maintenance of systems and networks to support the group and both commercial and residential clients
    • Ensure scheduled changes are completed 
    • Upkeeping Google Suite cleanups and ongoing maintenance
    • Monitor performance of information technology systems to determine cost and productivity levels, and to make recommendations for improving the IT infrastructure

    MMR / Node Rooms:

    • Manage all data rooms and node rooms by ensuring that the team documents all equipment in each room and follows maintenance procedures so that all equipment is correctly maintained, labelled and managed to the standard required for a first-tier network provider(TIA/EIA-568-B)
    • Manage new ISP builds
    • Regular reporting on the status of infrastructure health 
    • Identifying and planning upgrades of network infrastructure and implementation thereof
    • Ensure that scheduled changes take place and are completed 
    • Investigate new infrastructure hardware on an ongoing basis that could improve both the company or customers and provide reporting

    Business Unit Support 

    • Manage network equipment stock levels and ensure that stock levels are sufficient for the business unit to perform both customer installations or infrastructure upgrades or repairs.
    • Analyse business needs presented by users and recommend technical solutions with completion timeline

    Wireless and Last Mile Installations:

    • Management of last mile fibre installations
    • Project management of fibre projects
    • New build design, installations and commissioning

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology or equivalent
    • Mikrotik Qualification beneficial 
    • Wireless Certificate beneficial

    Experience and knowledge

    • Proven work experience in a similar role
    • ISP or telecommunications background, management and good understanding of Wireless High-Sites and Fibre Node rooms
    • Project management experience is advantageous

    Senior Nursing Service Manager

    Job Description

    • Faircape Health provides the full continuum of care at six world-class healthcare facilities located on-site at six luxury retirement villages. 
    • An opportunity has become available for a Nursing Service Manager at our retirement village within Somerset West at our Bridgewater Manor. 
    • The Nursing Services Manager implements and oversees all clinical and nursing processes and care of the healthcare facility with the assistance of RN Shift Leaders who manage the shifts. Further to that, the Nursing Services Manager liaises with the Multidisciplinary Team, medical professionals and families of residents. The Nursing Services Manager also plays a pivotal role in the marketing of the facility to ensure full occupancy at all times.

    Specific duties include but is not limited to the following:

    Staffing and Staff Management

    • Report to Senior Management daily via electronic platform
    • Manage Shift Leaders directly and all other staff indirectly
    • Ensure full staffing on each shift with specific emphasis on the proper deployment of all staff members.
    • Oversee and monitor agency and privately employed care and nursing staff – ensure all procedures are followed take action when needed
    • Liaise with HR regarding disciplinary matters and issue warnings when needed
    • Have regular (weekly) staff meetings to discuss issues at hand and allow for feedback from all.

    Training

    • Attend relevant management and clinical education programs
    • Address ongoing clinical skills and training needs within the facility with staff and inform Training Manager
    • Encourage staff development and ongoing education
    • Identify training needs and oversee the implementation of training programmes to new and existing staff as per specific training plan
    • Ensure all training competencies have been completed and ensure all newly appointed staff completes the competency tests

    Admissions and Discharges

    • Oversee the entire admission and discharge process which is managed by the Shift leader and allocation of beds according to availability, diagnosis
    • Interview prospective residents and their families, obtain all relevant medical reports as per company procedure and provide counselling where required
    • Oversee that all documentation for admission, progress and discharges in sub acute facility (applicable only in facilities where a sub acute license is in place)
    • Sign off of resident evaluation form/review and escalate any concerns immediately to the Senior Manager Management

    Resident and Family Interaction

    • Have full knowledge and communicate types and levels of services offered within the facility (i.e. long term and/or subacute) to interested persons enquiring about the facility
    • Interface with families regularly and where support, assistance or decision making input is required

    Resolve complaints

    • Develop a professional clinical and caring relationship with all residents receiving care
    • Provide effective education, advice and counselling to the resident about the matters relating to the facility, maintenance and/or staff
    • Be able to discuss with residents their individual care plan and aspects of their health, condition and prognosis where possible.
    • Refer resident to appropriate medical professional where necessary

    Village Residents and Services Offered

    • Communicate regularly with the Village Manager and discuss any issues that may overlap with healthcare
    • Manage the 6 monthly and annual visits to all village residents by the Healthcare Coordinator.
    • Attend monthly MDT meetings to discuss vulnerable residents and implement action plans

    Handover:

    • Attend and supervise the nursing handover procedure daily as per the policy
    • Be aware of all resident information exchanged during handover
    • Use handover to communicate important notices to staff

    Nursing and Care:

    • Strive to achieve optimal level of care for all residents, and ensure staff adhere to scope of practice and best practice regulations
    • Implement ethical guidelines and provisions of relevant legislation in caregiving in the facility
    • Liaise with Management and Faircape Doctors regarding any health/medical problems concerning residents if their assigned medical practitioner is not suitable.
    • Inform the Management of any situations concerning resident’s care that requires intervention or follow up
    • Review care plans with Shift Leader when necessary
    • Manage emergency care response procedure
    • Refer any residents requiring additional care to the appropriate hospital or other facility or medical practitioner involved.
    • Liaise with on site OT, Dietician and social worker in terms of resident care where necessary
    • Monitor nursing/care documentation to maintain high standard of documentation to avoid risk resulting from poor documentation

    Risk Management and Emergencies

    • Supervise implementation of infection control procedures during any outbreak or suspected infection occurring
    • Record and action any health related incidents that occur in the healthcare and village and report to Claremont office as per company procedure
    • Attend monthly H&S meetings and take action as needed
    • Do H&S checks on auditor according to procedure
    • Plan and supervise fire drills and evacuation plans
    • Be contactable by means of company cell phone and respond to emergencies
    • Inform Legal Department at Claremont office of any possible conflicts and follow up
    • Implement plans, prepare the facility and be present at all inspections (DOH and DSD)

    Administration and Reporting 

    • Prepare reports and submissions in line with responsibilities such as the weekly report to Management
    • Read and investigate all incidents and submit to the MDT as finalized
    • Monitor and approve all requisitions via the Healthcare Administrator to Claremont office
    • Communicate and report to support team and Claremont HOD’s on relevant matters
    • Oversee and manage care plans and nursing records on the system
    • Monitor the charting on via spot checks and discuss with Shift Leaders

    Requirements

    • Qualifications - Relevant nursing qualification as Registered Nurse, SANC registered

     Experience 

    • Proven experience in nursing management
    • Experience in geriatrics advantageous
