    Forklift Driver

    Job description

    Ref No: 4961

    Applications are invited for the abovementioned position to be based in Upington. This person will report to the Distribution Controller in the Warehouse.

    Key Performance Areas Would Include, But Are Not Limited To

    • Ability to move and stack, load and off-load pallets both full and empties in a safe and orderly manner
    • Completing administration with regards to forklift maintenance and daily check sheets
    • Ensuring that forklift is in a good operating condition
    • Provide a high level of service to customers
    • Assist with stock-take on a monthly basis
    • Assist with Dry Goods Stocktake
    • Assist bottle dealers with their empty returns.
    • Safeguard company assets
    • Comply with company safety and housekeeping standards
    • Perform stand-in duties for Picker and General Worker
    • Active involvement and participation in Mini-Business activities
    • Responsible for Quality Control Check sheets in warehouse

    Qualifications

    The Successful candidate must preferably have the following experience/ skills / qualifications

    • Grade 12 Certificate
    • Valid Forklift license with at least 2 years’ experience
    • Verbal and Written communication skills in English
    • Ability to cope with the inherent physical demands of the position
    • Ability to work independently, accurately and under pressure
    • Willing to work overtime when required

    Quality Controller Intrinsic

    Job description

    Applications are invited to apply for the above mentioned position to be based at Secondary Production, Green Park. The successful applicant will report to the Quality Control Manager

    Key Performance Areas Would Include, But Are Not Limited To

    • Ensure that the quality standards of the company are obtained and maintained with competent and empowered employees
    • Implement and maintain a comprehensive Quality control programme in the laboratory and primary production environment.
    • Manage lab functions for the plant as per ISO 17025 standards.
    • Maintain standards for SABS 1841 certification
    • Maintain standards for ISO 9001;2000 , HACCP and BRC certification
    • Reporting and management of non conforming materials and product.
    • Facilitate and participate in problem solving.
    • Liaise with internal and external customers & suppliers
    • Perform administrative requirements
    • Performance management of subordinates.
    • Ensure training and development of subordinates to meet business objectives.
    • Facilitate MDWT activities of team.

    The Successful Candidate Must Have The Following Experience/skills

    • A recognised and relevant Degree / Diploma in Natural Sciences (e.g. Food technology, Food science, Analytical chemistry) or equivalent qualification.
    • A recognised sensory evaluation qualification would be advantageous
    • At least 3 years experience as a Team leader within a laboratory in a FMCG environment, preferably beverages.
    • Must be able to interpret chemical analysis and make recommendations based on company guidelines
    • Knowledge of production processes.
    • Knowledge of ISO 17025, 9001; 2000, SABS 1841, BRC, HACCP and the implementation thereof.
    • Display in-depth skill and knowledge to assess and address laboratory processing problems
    • Competence in the use of SAP, LIMS, Live link would be advantageous.
    • Display knowledge of optimal utilisation of machinery / equipment during laboratory work in department
    • Must have sound knowledge of aroma / taste and quality faults relating to relevant product intrinsic.
    • Strong numerical aptitude and analytical abilities are essential.
    • Ability to develop and evaluate alternative courses of action and being aware of all criteria that has to be satisfied to address a problem.

    Trainee Accountant (TOPP program)

    Job description

    Applications are invited for the above mentioned position in the Internal Audit Department, based in Stellenbosch. This position will report to the Head of Internal Audit: South Africa.

    Elective

    This programme will grant Trainees an opportunity to be found working in a variety of challenging positions within the Group where their qualification and training is highly valued. Distell’s TOPP Program offers trainees three years of articles in a FMCG environment where they will be exposed to mainly Internal Audit and other business functions within the group. Elective skill and four Residual skills that are:

    Internal Audit, Risk Management and Governance

    Residual

    • Auditing & Assurance
    • Management Decision-Making & Control
    • Financial Management
    • Taxation

    Trainees will gain their experience by being placed on rotations within the various business entities of Distell.
    In addition to the support trainees receive from the TOPP Program management team, each trainee is appointed a trained mentor. The rotation line management and the teams of the business entities in which trainees are placed, are keen supporters of the Program and this ensures integration and quality training for the trainees.

    The TOPP experience sets out to select and recruit aspiring CA’s who are self-starters, will challenge and seek challenge, who display entrepreneurial ability and add value, and who ultimately see themselves establishing careers within the Distell Group.

    Key Performance Areas Would Include, But Are Not Limited To

    • Performing the internal audit projects as approved by the Audit and Risk Committee.
    • Finalise an Audit File and propose an Audit opinion.
    • Prepare financial statements.
    • General bookkeeping, taxation and audit tasks.

    The Successful Candidate Must Have The Following Experience/skills

    • A completed BCom Acc (Hons)/CTA degree will enjoy preference.
    • A completed BCom Acc degree will also be considered.

    ICT Service Centre Manager

    Job description

    Applicants are invited for the above mentioned position in the Information & Communications Technology Department based at Libertas in Stellenbosch. This position will report to the Group ICT Manager.

    Purpose Of The Position

    The Service Centre Manager will be responsible for the day-to-day service delivery run-efficiencies of ICT. This includes end-user training, application support, asset management, desktop support, as well as 1st, 2nd and a 3rd line user support and communication through the Contact Centre.

    Key Performance Areas Will Include, But Are Not Limited To

    • Define and agree attainable service level agreements for service deliverables with business - during working hours as well as after-hours for all ICT user support requirements;
    • Manage service levels relating to the provision of service deliverables by internal teams as well as by 3rd party service providers;
    • Development of training material and facilitating training interventions;
    • Provide support through a global Helpdesk software support infrastructure and focussed service teams;
    • Establish and manage a global user access management system support infrastructure to maintain user profiles and access to systems and services on a global basis;
    • Develop policies, standards and procedures to govern service delivery;
    • Communicate and inform user base of ICT events, changes and incidents;

    The Successful Candidate Must Have The Following Experience/skills

    • A relevant tertiary qualification;
    • A sound ICT background with at least 5 years relevant experience;
    • Exposure to the management of service level agreements and 3rd party services;
    • Strong people management skills;
    • Strong administrative ability with a high attention to detail;
    • Excellent written and oral communication skills;
