    Procurement Associate

    Job Purpose

    The professional assistant will be responsible for the management and admin responsibilities of the Group Chief procurement officer. The successful candidate will also be responsible for onboarding and maintaining of existing vendor records .  

     Areas of responsibility  for the professional assistance may include but not limited to:

    • Taking and relaying messages accurately
    • Diary and email management
    • Scheduling meetings: Room bookings, set up, and related document preparation
    •  Preparation of Agenda's, minutes. Matters arising and timeous distribution.
    •  Effectively deal with internal and external escalated queries the same day
    • Continuously build and maintain professional relationships with internal and external clients
    • General administration duties as required of the role

    Areas of responsibility for the Vendor Administrator may include but not limited to:

    • Perform supplier vetting on various procurement systems (Lexis Nexis Procurecheck, NICE Actimize AML, OneTrust, Paradigm)
    • Capturing of new suppliers onto Sage X3 accounting system
    • Ensure that the supplier information is kept up to date on the above-mentioned systems
    • Escalating queries to Vendor Manager, Group Finance as well as the Compliance team
    • Capture and maintain a repository for employee declaration of interest
    •  Compiling and presenting progress reports during staff meetings

    Work Experience

    • Minimum of 2 years experience as a PA supporting a senior manager?
    • Minimum 2 year administrative experience in supply chain management
    • Minimum of 2 years experience with customer relations
    • Experience working on one or more systems (Lexis Nexis Procurecheck, NICE Actimize AML, OneTrust, Paradigm, sage X3)
    • Previous experience within Discovery’s supplier chain environment

    Education / Qualifications / Accreditations with Professional Body

    • A minimum of Matric/NQF 4 qualification
    • Do you have a relevant Degree
    • Do you have a qualification in Project Management
    • Do you have a qualification in supply chain management
    • Intermediate Microsoft skills

    Database Administrator (Senior)

    Key Purpose

    A Senior DBA needs to be efficient/experts in their fields/areas given to them to support, and act as a consultant to the entire team-transferring skills to build up strengths.  To contribute to standards and procedures on backups/naming standards/processes/security/tools evaluations  etc.  and ultimately assist on the best practice of known information and received contributions. 

    To be able to fully handle DBA outputs, and to have a more heightened ability to troubleshoot/resolve problems and have more indepth database support experience.

    Areas of responsibility may include but not limited to

    • Full consultant to entire team – and transfer of skills to ensuring their backup colleagues can support their environments in an ongoing administration capacity.  Receiving research information from DBA’s and exploring more indepth options etc. and ultimately act in a more guiding role.
    • DBA needs to be efficient/experts in the areas given to them to support which will include all components more than just the oracle database itself (Example: 

    Responsible within the team for the success of their ongoing audit reviews for the environments allocated to them to support, taking the lead from the Principle DBA who is overall responsible for the entire team’s audit reviews.
    To own and have strong research skills to resolve problems/issues timeously and independently.  A senior DBA must be efficient in their field.  Must be able to work well under pressure – and be flexible.  Must also be able to effectively multi-task

    Education and Experience

    Essential:

    • Matric
    • Database Degree/diploma
    • Certificates on Oracle DBA
    • 3 – 4 years in a DBA Associate role in fulfiling all outputs in this role
    • 5 – 6 years Oracle experience

    Advantageous:

    • Certification on AWS, Cloud and Postgres
    • Technical Skills and Knowledge

    Essential:

    • Knowledge on Oracle Golden Gate and Data Guard
    • Knowledge on Oracle AQ Queues
    • Knowledge on Oracle RMAN Backups

    Advantageous

    Knowledge of AWS, Cloud, Postgres Databases

    Competencies:

    • Action oriented

    • Optimises work processes
