    Professional Nurse

    The successful candidate will be responsible to implement, oversee child/adolescent health services in the relevant outreach area, support and plan with the relevant DoH managers and Anova teams on child/adolescent Health support and services.

    Key duties and responsibilities:

    Programme implementation

    • Oversee implementation of activities for the child/adolescent health services implementation in relevant outreach area
    • Conduct and facilitate on-site Inservice-training for team members where needed
    • Ensure correct storage and disposal of supplies/pharmaceutical items

    Direct service implementation

    • Implement activities as are part of child/adolescent health outreach service:
    • Screen infants, children and caregivers for vertical transmission prevention catch-up/missed visits
    • Conduct HIV-PCR testing for infants and children, focussing on community level services
    • Conduct immunisations, and initiate and follow-up for PrEP/SRHR services and ART services
    • Perform any other duties that will contribute to the efficient running of the programme as may be assigned by management.

    Team supervision

    • Oversee the day-to-day management of the child Health outreach team in relevant area
    • Conduct performance monitoring for the team

    Reporting and administration

    • Oversee and consolidate reporting of the Child Health outreach team in relevant area and share with relevant managers
    • Compile daily/weekly/monthly reporting on the programme implementation and other reporting requirements

    Stakeholder engagement

    • Liaise with and support DoH teams who are supporting community services related to child health
    • Work with DoH to come up with plans to improve community-based services for children

    Minimum qualifications and experience:

    • A Degree or Diploma in Nursing with valid SANC registration
    • At least 2 years’ experience in working at a clinic (PHC or CHC) facility, including experience with conducting immunisation and HIV-PCRs
    • Knowledge of current guidelines and experience in HIV/PMTCT/TB programmes
    • Certificate in NIMART or basic HIV Management with experience managing children with HIV and TB
    • HIV testing services/PICT trained
    • Experience in supporting/overseeing other team members
    • IMCI training
    • Training in Disclosure in the context of HIV in children and adolescents living with HIV an advantage

    Skills, competencies, and attributes:

    • Must be able to work independently and as part of a team.
    • Ability to manage relationships.
    • Strong organisational skills, including task and time management, ability to multi-task, establish priorities, and meet deadlines; and work without daily supervision.

    Enrolled Nurse

    The successful candidate will be responsible to implement Child/adolescent health services in the relevant outreach area and liaise with the DoH and Anova teams in the relevant outreach areas on Child/adolescent Health support and services

    Key duties and responsibilities:

    Direct service implementation

    • Implement activities as are part of child/adolescent health outreach service including immunisations, nutrition screening and HIV counselling and testing (under supervision of a Professional Nurse).
    • Screen infants, children and caregivers for vertical transmission prevention catch-up/missed visits
    • Conduct HIV-PCR testing for infants and children, focussing on community level services
    • Perform any other duties that will contribute to the efficient running of the programme as may be assigned by management.

    Reporting and administration

    • Compile daily/weekly/monthly report on the programme implementation in supported area/s for Anova and DoH
    • Report the need for supplies needed for activities timeously

    Stakeholder engagement

    • Liaise with and support DoH teams who are supporting community services related to child health
    • Work with DoH to come up with plans to improve community-based services for children

    Minimum qualifications and experience:

    • Grade 12/ Matric
    • Enrolled Nursing certificate or equivalent qualification
    • Valid registration with South African Nursing Council as an Enrolled Nurse
    • Minimum of two years related experience and/or training: or equivalent combination of education and experience.
    • HIV testing services trained
    • Training in Disclosure in the context of HIV in children and adolescents living with HIV an advantage
    • 2 years’ experience in a primary health care setting, including experience with conducting immunisation and PCRs
    • 2 years’ experience in child health, HIV/TB and related work.

    Counsellor Linkage Officer

    The successful candidate will be responsible for increasing the uptake of HTS for children and adolescents, ensuring the mobilisation and testing of key groups for HTS in community (or facility where required). Linkage of children and adolescent living with HIV to treatment and support at facility and community will also be done.

    Key duties and responsibilities:

    Provision of HTS services & other HIV related support activities

    • Providing HIV counselling & testing (HTS) to clients in line with DoH policies and guidelines including 959595 strategy, focussing on children and adolescents
    • Promote, mobilise and perform HTS at facility level
    • Support index testing of sibling’s/family members of children who test HIV-positive and link them to care.

    Linkage to care

    • Ensure that all children, adolescents and youth that are tested are linked to care and initiated on PrEP or treatment as appropriate, either in the community or at facilities
    • Ensure that children and adolescents living with HIV are linked to support structures within the community
    • Support adherence/disclosure to specific clients when needed

    Administration and Reporting

    • Keep an updated record of number of clients offered HTS, tested, tested HIV positive, linked into care, etc., in line with stationery used by DoH and Anova (should there be additional data capturing tools)
    • Form part of a multidisciplinary team within Anova and attend relevant meetings

     


    Engagement with DoH and Anova staff

     

     

    • Form part of a multidisciplinary team within Anova mobile service and work with the teams to ensure that 959595 HTS targets are met
    • Attend facility meetings as required to discuss HTS/HIV/TB related issues

    Minimum qualifications and experience:

    • Matric/Grade 12 certificate
    • Training in Basic HAST, HIV Counselling, Adherence counselling
    • Knowledge of DoH HCT guidelines & protocols.
    • Experience working as an HCT counsellor
    • KidzAlive training and experience working with children/adolescents an advantage

    Decanting Mentor

    Form part of Anova Decanting team and supports the implementation of differentiated care modalities. Supports and facilitates recruitment of chronically stable patients, and monitors clubs/cohorts on clinic visits.

    Key Responsibilities and Duties:

    Recruitment, cohort facilitation and monitoring of decanted patients

    • Support the implementation of Repeat Prescriptions collection strategies (RPCS) in supported facilities
    • Identify eligible stable chronic patients into Repeat prescription collection strategies, with the assistance of a nursing clinician

    Conducting support/education group activities

    • Ensure that the SFLA/AC club registers are signed and captured on Tier.Net
    • Monitor, report and refer patients to be deactivated from CCMDD
    • Follow up defaulting decanted patients and trace and record outcomes LTFU

    Audits

    • Conduct baseline and/or routine assessments on decanting at the clinic using specific tools
    • Prepare facilities for USAID Siyenza facility Visits/Audits

    Reporting & Administration

    • Complete and submit daily reports
    • Compile Weekly and Monthly Progress Reports to line manager on specific reports(M&E Tool, COJ decanting report and PEPFAR report)

    Administrative Tasks

    • Form part of a Facility multidisciplinary team and ensure that decanting is implemented

    Qualifications and Experience

    • Matric/Grade 12 Certificate
    • Minimum two years’ experience in differentiated care models
    • Experience with HIV/AIDS treatment regimens and adherence issues relating to HIV/AIDS patients.

    Child and Youth Care Worker

    We are looking for Community Child and Youth Care Worker to provide HIV-positive children and adolescents with home-based, comprehensive psychosocial support and linkage to health facilities and mobilise clients for mobile community outreach child/adolescent/youth health services and support linkage and follow-up services.

    Key duties and responsibilities

    • Enrol and develop professional supportive relationships with children and adolescents living with HIV and their families, recruited at health facilities or through communities
    • Mobilise clients for mobile community outreach child/adolescent/youth health services and support linkage and follow-up services Conduct HIV and TB risk screening as relevant
    • Make appropriate referrals and linkages for children and adolescents living with HIV, e.g. nutritional supportAdvocate and uphold the rights of children and youth at risk.
    • Attend stakeholders’ meetings including the facility/sub-district implementation meetings
    • Keep records of all activities in terms of formats and/or guidelines provided.

    Essential qualifications and experience

    • Grade 12
    • Qualified CYCW with an FETC Child and Youth Care Work
    • Registration with South African Council for Social Service Professions
    • Ability to work under pressure
    • Ability to work well as part of a team
    • Have strong family and other support systems
    • Competency (Speak, Read and Write) in English
    • The following will be advantageous:
    • Experience in HIV/AIDS and TB programs
    • Experience in community child and youth care work

    Data Capturer

    The successful candidate will be responsible to support the Paediatric and Adolescent community project, through data management and project administration.

    Key duties and responsibilities:

    Data Capturing and entry

    • Collate and organise data into relevant data tools as required by the project
    • Distribute and collect relevant data to/from project staff
    • Correct all data errors timeously

    Data storage

    • File and store client data correctly
    • Ensure data is protected by limiting access to approved persons

    Data quality assurance and use

    • Update HTS linkage tracker and ensure it has high quality information
    • Use data to help the team plan activities
    • Support data quality assurance activities

    Project administration/ storage

    • Support the project manager and team members in administrative tasks, including liaising with staff, minute taking and distribution, preparing/printing/collating documents/tools, meeting administration, distribution of project materials.

    Project Support and Reporting

    • Ensure reporting takes place daily/weekly/monthly as required

    Minimum qualifications and experience:

    • A matriculation exemption is a minimum requirement; a tertiary qualification would be advantageous
    • Data capturing and collection
    • 1 year experience in administration/or M&E
    • Computer experience in Microsoft Office, especially MS Excel, MS Word.
    • Experience supporting M&E plans
    • Experience with TIER.Net, DHIS, Clinical stationery
    • Experience engaging facility staff and familiarity with South Africa’s health information at public-sector facilities
    • Fast and accurate data capturing and entry skills.
    • Excellent administrative and organizational skills.
