    Development Team Lead

    A development team leader is needed to manage all phases of software development of a large-sized web application, including enhancements and production support, analyzing customer requirements and specifications and developing task plans.

    Responsibilities:

    • Team Lead managing developers, tasks, schedules, and deliverables and customer/stakeholder needs 
    • To work on constantly increasing the productivity of the team
    • Remove bottlenecks and meet with stakeholders to ensure the fastest route to delivery  
    • Collaborating with management and developers
    • Developing a software development pipeline plan
    • Ensuring the team is consistently delivering working software to the standards the department expects
    • Establishing a development schedule and manage each phase
    • Develop and test applications and integration of functionality as needed to ensure compliance
    • Provide technical oversight for all aspects of software design, development, documentation
    • Estimate level of effort to develop code to meet acceptance criteria
    • Take up the responsibility of the entire development lifecycle, including cost management 
    • Carefully analyse the development lifecycle and improve weaknesses found in the process
    • Developing the detailed design structure after understanding the requirements
    • Implementing the best practices and coding standards of the development lifecycle
    • Ensure ongoing reviews and feedback from peers
    • To keep a check on the whole system, conduct the testing and integration testing for the entire system
    • To assist and guide the Project Lead/PM/BA in project coordination
    • To ensure that Team is working as per standard procedures & processes

    Required Skills

    • Software development : 3 to 4 years
    • Development team management : 3 to 4 years
    • Student information systems: 1 to 2 years
    • Excellent communication skills
    • Proficiency in English
    • Conflict resolution
    • Strong understanding of standards for customer service
    • The ability to self-motivate and motivate a team
    • Experience working to and exceeding targets
    • Excellent computer skills and IT fluency
    • Ability to manage complex projects and multi-task
    • Ability to flourish with minimal guidance, be proactive, and handle uncertainty
    • Critical thinker and problem solver

    Experience: 

    • Software Engineering / Computer Engineering degree
    • At least 3 years of direct experience as a Software Team lead
    • At least 3 years developing, releasing, and maintaining large-scale web applications
    • Experience with Student Information Systems (SIS) 
    • Experience working in an Agile environment
    • Proficient using Google Suite and other data entry software

    Salary: 15-30 k zar per month

    Working hours: Full time

    •  Fluent in Google Documentation
    •  Working knowledge of Facebook, Linkedin, Instagram and Twitter
    • Education Requirements:
    •  BSc in Marketing, English, Journalism or related field
    • Salary: 100200 zar per hr
    • Required hours/day: 510 hours a week to start with
