    To provide specialist ER consultation and advice to line managers and employees on Labour Law and relevant ER policies and procedures.

    Divisional Management Accountant: Business Finance - Infrastructure Solution

    Job Description
    Responsible for the Infrastructure Solutions finance division focussed on driving business performance through commercial knowledge and effective decision support. Performs comprehensive analysis that instils key points and clearly articulates “what the numbers are saying”. Responsibilities include the preparation of management accounts, establishing accounting policies/procedures, ensuring compliance of subsidiaries. Prepares financial reports and budgets for the executive to support the financial decision making process.

    Supports business partners in articulating their strategic choices to win against competition.

    Strategy

    • Define commercial strategies and work together with leadership in establishing business plans and business unit budgets
    • Contribute to the development of Finance strategy in line with market trends and economic conditions; in alignment with BCX’s overall business strategy and values in collaboration with stakeholders
    • Compile pricing strategies
    • Develop pricing governance frameworks
    • Identify the business impact of operational and commercial strategies and the anticipated business benefits; as well as the risks and consequences of failure
    • Define product profitability thresholds based on strategic objectives
    • Uses experience and judgement to guide business leaders in identifying high value acquisition targets and new value proposals

    Financial (Satisfied Stakeholders)

    • Drive the improvement of operating margins; profit; maximised cash flow and return on capital through the tracking of planned activities and associated budgets.
    • Ensure alignment between services provided; contractual obligations and pricing of both customer and supplier contracts with a focus on appropriate pricing methodologies for services provided to customers
    • Leads the planning and forecast process within respective division/s, setting targets, forecast development and management reviews
    • Capital Allocation analysis and review as defined by the Investment Committee
    • Contribute to the development of the annual budget and forecasts within the strategic guidelines
    • Works on highly complex financial issues that have significant impact on the enterprise, and across enterprise processes and functions
    • Review and approve bid pricing submissions to ensure aligned with profitability targets
    • Approve deviations of bids from profitability thresholds where appropriate commercial rationale exists
    • Accept accountability and responsibility for financial and budgetary targets in line with BCX financial objectives
    • Support actions to direct and co-ordinate activities to achieve profit, maximise cash flow and return on capital
    • Manage budget for deals and product sales
    • Seek new financial analysis techniques for enhanced decision making
    • Define and improve financial processes, continually striving for simplicity and best practice

    Customers (Satisfied Customers)

    • Promote and facilitate optimum Sales between Shared Services Finance and Sales.
    • Establish and enhance strategic customer relationships.
    • Drive excellence in collaboration with the delivery organisation and set delivery metrics / targets to drive customer excellence
    • Provide decision support and financial leadership to different stakeholders within the Group
    • Considers alternative scenarios and applies judgement to help drive great decisions and superior performance

    Operational

    • Direct short-term and long-term planning and budget development to support strategic business goals
    • Develops and manages the appropriate business performance management process so as to prioritise business opportunities and influence business decisions
    • Develop and review business services affecting pricing; policy and procedures for financial; contractual and legal practices; including cross functional processes; delivered through Shared Services Finance
    • Ensure that product profitability client reports are proficiently compiled to support revenue and GP growth
    • Manage financial functions and preparation of reports and statistics detailing financial results
    • Support the overall growth of business revenue within the respective divisions
    • Comply with relevant reporting, accounting and audit requirements imposed by regulatory bodies and provide consultative support to business areas
    • Balance the need for control with flexibility

    Develop costing pricing models (Product and Network specific)

    • Understand intergroup trading model (transfer pricing) and related impact on pricing methodology
    • Build product pricing and profitability analysis tool and models for BCX business units and segments
    • Constantly review and contribute to improvement of all product and services profitability
    • Monitor the integrity of data used or generated and liaise with the appropriate people to initiate amendments
    • Develop and maintain the accepted methodology used in determining product profitability and analysis
    • Set up seamless mechanisms to pull product specific cost and cost elements
    • Ensure alignment of product pricing across and advise business of potential gaps and impacts
    • Co-ordinate pricing decisions across the division
    • Deliver services in a way that is timely and ensure information is accurate and understandable
    • People

    Desired Skills and Experience
    Bachelor’s Degree (Hons)

    • CA (SA) qualification (NQF Level 8)/ CIMA
