    Forklift Driver

    We are currently looking to hire a Forklift Driver for the East and Southern Africa region to join our team in Potchefstroom, North West.

    Position Summary
    The Forklift Driver operates forklift and using RF Scanner where appropriate, is responsible for the safe and accurate moving of stock either from trucks to warehouse storage bins or in the production area or from storage bins in warehouse to loading bays and then onto trucks for delivery.     A day in the life of a Fork Lift Driver
    You will be responsible for the following:

    Receiving:

    • In accordance with location information on RF scanner and following check by Stock Control Clerk drives to zone indicated for put away. Reports any discrepancies to supervisor
    • In accordance with location information on RF scanner executes the staging process to the factory and reports any discrepancies to Supervisor.
    • Ensure that all tasks required to facilitate the receiving function is executed e.g. off loading of containers, repacking of materials to ensure full pallet quantity for put away

    Production:

    • Supply all Lines with required materials that require forklift assistance.
    • Ensure that all movements requiring a forklift are executed as instructed such as removal of waste bins and other adhoc activities.
    • In accordance with location information on RF scanner, ensure that all finished goods are stretch wrapped before transferring to the FG Warehouse.

    Finished Goods:

    • Put away of finished goods in designated area via RF scanner, verifying and confirming on scanner. Reports any discrepancies to supervisor.
    • System driven stock movements using RF scanner for case picking, full pallet picking, credits and damages.
    • Performs adhoc stock movements as directed by supervisor and as appropriate confirms all actions on scanner

    What will make you successful

    • Minimum Grade12 or equivalent
    • Appropriate valid Operational License

    • Facilitate following of the escalation procedure for support which is not in the factory after hours

    • Qualifications: University graduate or post-graduate qualification, Food technology, Biochemistry, Microbiology

    Boiler Operator

    • Uses the appropriate PPE for his area of work and reports to safety officer for replacement incase of damage or excessive wear
    • Reports for purpose of correction, any malfunction or damage to equipment in and around boiler house air compressors and ammonia plants and especially with regard to machine guards.
    • Report any misuse, or unsafe work conditions or contraventions of safety rules

    Project Engineer

    The successful incumbent will ensure the following:

    During project design phase:

    • Execute the basic and detailed design of the project based on Nestlé Corporate Business Principles, Nestlé standards, local regulations, the defined User Requirements Specifications and the TPM characteristics of a unit operation (safety, quality, affordability, maintainability, operability and reliability). Ensure by design the workers, and operators, safety during both the construction and the ongoing operation of the plant.

    During the project implementation phase:

    • Ensure that the engineering side of the project is implemented (e.g. buildings, equipment erections, piping, utilities, etc.) in accordance with the defined timing, cost and quality, the URS and the characteristics of a unit operation. And that all of the elements of the project (including technical people training, as needed) in performed in such a way that safety is always guaranteed on the whole project site and that a vertical start-up is assured. Select and qualify contractors and coordinate their activities. Ensure that Nestlé standards are applied.         

    During the start-up phase of the project:

    • Support the start-up manager and their team to ensure a smooth transition to operations after the qualification and verification of the installation.
    • Contribute to and support the preparation and distributing the engineering project documentation, including the engineering part of the project final report and provide feedback to the Maintenance Prevention System.

    Automation & Instrumentation Technician

    • Coordinate with Production, Quality Management and Engineering to resolve Automation and MES issues.
    • Supervise, coordinate and perform Automation and MES maintenance and project work together with technicians and contractors.
    • Ensure proper management of Automation and MES documents (manuals, diagrams, instrument data sheet, software packages/licenses) through efficient filing and archiving procedures.
    • Initiate and drive Continuous Improvement (CI) in Automation and MES with the aim of achieving optimised plant performance. Responsibilities relating to the Maintenance and Improvement of Automation and MES assets:
    • Develop and implement maintenance and inspection plans to ensure reliability, sustainability and security of the Automation and MES infrastructure.

    • Execute the maintenance of the Automation and MES in accordance with the Nestlé Maintenance Strategy using Consequence Driven Maintenance (CDM) as the multi-disciplined approach to proactively maintain/improve the fixed assets and Asset and Maintenance Management (AMM) as the process to manage the asset lifecycle.
    • Adopt the Maintenance Excellence vision by striving for the M&I "Proactive Domain".
    •  Monitor plant and equipment to ensure optimal operation and reduction of planned and unplanned downtime. Responsibilities relating to the installation of new Automation and MES assets:
    • Ensure that the justification, request for approval and reporting are in line with the Guidelines for Capital Investment.
    • Ensure that new installations are designed with a high degree of flexibility to better enable the operations to adjust to a changing environment keeping in mind the issue of product and people safety.

    What will make you successful

    • Degree/Diploma in engineering, preferably electrical engineering.
    • Minimum 5 years experience in the field of electricity and automation in a manufacturing
