    Manager Discrimination, Harassment, and Gender Harm

    Job Description

    • The Discrimination, Harassment, and Gender Harm Manager will work closely with the Director: Equity and Institutional Culture, the Director in the Office of the Vice-Chancellor, and the Discrimination, Harassment, and Gender Harm Officer to receive and record reports of discrimination, harassment, and all GBV from staff and students and provide comprehensive, complainant support.

    The Requirements
    A B.Degree or equivalent (NQF level 7) in counselling, social work, or related discipline plus approximately 6 years’ relevant experience where such experience includes:

    • Previous experience with advocacy and awareness-raising in matters relating to gender-based violence, harassment, discrimination, and transformation.
    • Experience managing and coordinating complaints and/or allegations related to gender-based violence, discrimination, and harassment.
    • Experience working collaboratively across departments to achieve institutional goals, including policy development and implementation.
    • Previous working experience in higher education will be an advantage.

    Discrimination, Harassment, and Gender Harm Officer

    Job Description

    • The Discrimination, Harassment, and Gender Harm Officer will work closely with the Manager of Discrimination, Harassment, and Gender Harm to provide advocacy and awareness-raising programming regarding discrimination, harassment, gender harm, and related issues for the university. They will also assist in coordinating discrimination, harassment, and GBV complaints and provide hands-on complainant support and related record-keeping for the university.

    The Requirements
    A 3-year B. Degree or equivalent (NQF level 7) in counselling, social work, or related discipline plus approximately 3 years’ relevant experience where such experience includes: -

    • Previous experience with advocacy and awareness-raising in matters relating to gender violence, harassment, discrimination, and transformation.
    • Experience managing and coordinating complaints and/or allegations related to gender violence, discrimination, and harassment
    • Experience working collaboratively across departments to achieve institutional goals, including policy development and implementation.
    • Previous working experience in higher education will be an advantage.
    • Incumbents with an Honours Degree or studying towards one will have an advantage.
