    Lead, System Engineer (62221)

    Job Purpose:

    To execute technical, digital, data platform strategies, solutions and roadmaps that encompass the current and future needs of the business, technology and platforms ensuring the integrity, consistency and resilience of platform features and functions across geographies.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Contribute to the overall success of Client Segment and Client Solutions service delivery and country service experience by making visible the specific capacity, availability and continuity (Always on) requirements for the platform based on usage/consumption and forecasts.
    • Provide input to relevant risk governance forums and escalate relevant risk issues. Establish appropriate risk oversight and governance processes and structures within the area.
    • Review the number and severity of incidents and outages, performing trend analysis and investigating root causes. Give input to appropriate information dashboards regarding failure of service and develop plans to mitigate failures.

    Qualifications & Experience:

    • Post Graduate Degree in Information Stdies or Information Technology as well as IT related professional certification such as SAFE Agile certification.
    • 5-7 Years experience in managing system or platform teams and have experience in leading engineering teams in other Capital Markets businesses (Calypso, Alchemy, Front Arena, Wall Street, Asset Control).
    • 8-10 Years experience in the full lifecycle design and development.
    • Well versed in vendor system setup and types of system architectures, preferably Murex.
    • Significant experience in future fit technology such as Cloud, DevOps, One-click deployments, API frameworks for vendor systems.

    Specialist, Balance Sheet Management

    JOB PURPOSE

    To report, measure and maintain the holistic Balance Sheet Management business process for the Africa Regions banking entities and Head Office by ensuring compliance to Standard Bank Group principles, country-specific regulations and international best practices to manage liquidity risk, interest rate risk in the banking book  and optimize the balance sheet.

    KEY RESPONSIBILITES

    • Measure and review  metrics for monthly reporting and review FTP reports ensuring threshold limits are within acceptable ranges, balances sheet hygiene is maintained and anomalies are communicated to AR resources for resolution.
    • Validate ALM models to ensure accuracy, integrity and relevance of model data and correct potential modelling errors to manage interest rate risk and liquidity risk.

    Data Analyst

    JOB PURPOSE

    Provide infrastructure, tools and frameworks used to deliver end-to-end solutions to business problems. Build scalable infrastructure for supporting the delivery of clear business insights from raw data sources; with a focus on collecting, managing, analysing, visualising data and developing analytical solutions.Responsible for expanding and optimising Standard Bank's data and data pipeline architecture, whilst optimising data flow and collection to ultimately support data initiatives.

    KEY RESPONSIBILITES

    • Designing and developing scalable ETL packages from the business source systems and the development of ETL routines in order to populate databases from sources and to create aggregates. Oversee large-scale data Hadoop platforms and to support the fast-growing data within the business.
    • Utilise data to discover tasks that can be automated and identify, design, and implement internal process improvements, automating manual processes, optimizing data delivery, re-designing infrastructure for greater scalability, etc.
    • Create and maintain optimal data pipeline architecture and creating databases optimized for performance, implementing schema changes, and maintaining data architecture standards across the required Standard Bank databases. Work alongside data scientists to help make use of the data they collect.
    • Liaise and collaborate with the entire team, providing support to the entire department for its data centric needs. Collaborate with subject matter experts to select the relevant sources of information and translates the business requirements into data mining/science outcomes. Presents findings and observations to team for development of recommendations.

    QUALIFICATIONS

    • An IT related degree
    • 5-7 years experience - with big data tools: Hadoop, Spark, Kafka, etc.
    • 5-7 years experience - working SQL knowledge and experience working with relational databases, query authoring (SQL) as well as working familiarity with a variety of databases.
    • 5-7 years experience - Strong analytic skills related to working with unstructured datasets.
    • Build processes supporting data transformation, data structures, metadata, dependency and workload management.

    Business Support & Development Engineer

    JOB PURPOSE
    To perform the role of Business Support and Development for trading systems used within the Global Markets environment on both in-house and vendor solutions. Customer interaction is mandatory in ensuring that support and the implementation of enhancements/new products are carried out timeously. 

    KEY RESPONSIBILITES

    Implement new configuration for a portion of the system/s

    • Configure front-end and back-end portions of trading/risk management systems used by Global Markets and Global Market Support functions in all markets inclusive of: Interest Rate Derivatives, Credit Derivatives, Equity Derivatives, Foreign Exchange Derivatives, Fixed Income, Foreign Exchange, Equities, Commodities, Structured products and Money Markets.

    Provide Support for Trading Application

    • Provide second and third level support for trading systems.
    • Participate in the resolution of analytical queries such as PnL queries, Risk number queries, Pricing and trade booking queries.

    • Configure trading systems to enable new products. This requires coordination front to back to deliver the outcome in partnership with feature team.

    • 3-4 Years experience with the configuration and maintenance of trading systems.
