    Diesel Mechanic - Durban

    Job Description    

    • RCL Foods is recruiting for a driven, highly energized, fleet focused Diesel Mechanic within the baking business unit.
    • The suitable candidate will be required to carry out maintenance & preventive service in accordance to the maintenance schedule plan and breakdowns and attend to afterhours breakdowns on local delivery fleet.
    • This role will be based in Durban and reporting to the Transport Manager.

    Minimum Requirements    
    Education and Qualification:

    • Matric
    • N3 National Certificate as Diesel Mechanic

    Experience and Training:

    • 4-5 years’ experience as a qualified mechanic in a workshop environment with at least one year in a supervisory role.
    • Experience with FAW; Fuso; Hino and Nissan Trucks

    Duties & Responsibilities

    Fleet Maintenance

    • Execute the preventative maintenance schedule.
    • Perform delivery vehicle breakdown services as required
    • Attend to after hour vehicle breakdowns.
    • Perform minor auto electrician repairs.
    • Prepare vehicles for annual Certificate of Fitness (COF)
    • Ensure all mechanical tasks are completed according to the job card specifications

    Miller - Pretoria

    Job Description

    • RCL FOODS is seeking a Miller to join our Baking Division. The role will be based in Pretoria West and report to the Head Miller. The successful applicant will be responsible for efficient and cost-effective operations of all mills while ensuring all finished products adhere to specific quality criteria, and all stipulated targets and measurements are attained daily.

    Minimum Requirements

    • Qualified Miller that is trade tested in maize milling technologies, preferably (Wheat and Maize will be ideal).
    • Minimum 3 years of milling experience in a high-capacity plant.
    • Fumigation and Grading Certification.
    • Advanced milling qualifications will be an advantage.

    Duties & Responsibilities

    Operational Tasks Roller Mills:

    • Ensure break releases on Wheat Mills are carried out on a weekly basis as per instruction.
    • Ensure no build-up of stock on roll feed plates.
    • Ensure all scrapers and roll brushes are checked per shift and changed if necessary.
    • Ensure roll hopper exhausts are fully operational per shift.

    Plansifter:

    • Ensure all sifter maintenance is carried out as per requirements and schedules.
    • Ensure any burst covers are replaced on shift.
    • Ensure all inlet/outlet sleeves on sifter and purifiers are intact.
    • Ensure screens of all turbo sieves on Germ system are intact, clean, and machine inside cleaned out regularly.

    Purifiers:

    • Ensure all purifier brushes are fully operational and in good condition at all times.
    • Ensure air tunnel on top of machines is clean and purifiers set.
    • Ensure covers are taut and not blinded at all times.
    • Ensure correct separation on all concentrators and maize mill aspirators.

    Aspiration and Exhausts:

    • Ensure manometer reading on all filters is on acceptable levels.
    • Ensure pneumatic hammer and pulsing unit on filter is working at all times.
    • Ensure heater banks are running at correctly controlled temperatures at all times.

    General Routine Checks:

    • Ensure efficient running of milling machines as set by Mill Manager.
    • Ensure correct flour stocks are available in the correct location as required by scheduling system.
    • Ensure correct setting and balancing of milling machines.
    • Ensure performance rate of 95% is maintained on all mills.

    Quality:

    • Ensure Pekar tests are done twice per shift on all finished products.
    • Ensure all finished products are tested on shift using Diode Array machine and recorded in quality book.

    • RCL FOODS is on the hunt for an Exports Controller, who has a passion for high customer service focus, to join the Growth Division. The role will report to the Africa and Exports Growth Managing Executive and will be based in Westville.
    • The purpose of the role is to support the Export team and provide an important link between the Export Country Managers and clients by facilitating sales-related functions.

    Minimum Requirements

    • National Diploma or Degree in Marketing, Business Science, Logistics, or Supply Chain.
    • 3-5 years’ relevant experience.
    • Language Proficiencies: English (French or Portuguese preferable).
    • Highly computer literate (e.g., Advanced PowerPoint and Excel).

    Manage the Export Department’s Admin Requirements:

    • Respond to export inquiries timeously; filter and screen export inquiries as per agreed criteria, assess which business is worth pursuing, and follow up with communication to the customer or forward others to the relevant Country Manager.
    • Facilitate internal communications between Export Unit, Manufacturing, Marketing, Customer Marketing, and Planning, ensuring alignment with customer requirements (e.g., attend Comms Meetings and provide feedback to Country Managers).
    • Obtain daily and monthly Export sales information and distribute it to the Export Team.
    • Assist in monitoring the performance of Export Administrators regarding meeting timelines, completeness, accuracy, and export requirements for foreign countries.

    • Engage with Vector Logistics Debtors in coding and processing new accounts.
    • Process and track all claims from various Agents related to promotions, deals, stock issues, etc. Investigate causes, calculate correct costing, and confirm claimed values.
    • Engage with third parties, including Vector Logistics, to solve problems related to logistics issues (e.g., transport, stock, inspections, vet requirements, and country requirements).
    • Work closely with Quality Control to ensure that plants are Export compliant.
    • Work closely with Marketing and plants to ensure country-specific packaging and language requirements are met.
    • Travel to RCL plants and offices locally and visit foreign countries as required.
    • Arrange registration of various export licenses (e.g., Bureau Veritas, SGS, SARS, Customs & Excise).
    • Work closely with Freight Forwarders, Transporters, Clearing Agents, and Vector Logistics to ensure a seamless route to market.
    • Develop and maintain an Export product catalogue and Export materials as agreed with Country Managers.
    • Drive Sales and Customer Relations outside of key focus areas through locally based Exporters.
    • Provide Customer support related to deals, Point of Sale, and promotions in key focus countries.
    • Provide sales forecasts as directed by Country Managers, considering country promotional grids.
    • Maintain the Master Export Pricing file and advise Country Managers and Customers of price changes in a timely manner.
    • Ensure pricing and deals are captured into the system and communicated.
    • Interrogate the Daily Outstanding Order list, investigate delays, and update Country Managers.
    • Assist Country Managers in preparing for meetings and presentations.
    • Maintain the SKU works library to ensure pack images are up-to-date and appear online; ensure all new product listings are inputted into the system. Handle customer queries for pack shots, artwork, etc.
    • Manage customer quality complaints: ensure appropriate procedures are in place, that complaints are resolved timely, communicated to customers, and coordinate recall procedures.
    • Engage with Customer Marketing and Marketing as directed by Country Managers to obtain information and materials.
    • Manage and nurture small accounts to achieve sales targets, proactively identify growth opportunities, and collaborate with the marketing team to implement effective campaigns.
