    SAP Basis Consultant

    Job Purpose

    The SAP Basis Consultant is responsible for the management of the SAP environment. The incumbent is responsible for configuring, monitoring, tuning, and troubleshooting the SAP technical environment on an ongoing basis as well as scheduling and executing the SAP transport system.

    Key Outcomes May Include But Are Not Limited To

    • Implements and maintains the multiple SAP instances that comprise the SAP environment (development, test, training and production).
    • Has in-depth knowledge of implementation and support of SAP HANA systems.
    • Maintains the integrity of the SAP environment by managing the SAP Correction and Transport System (CTS) to ensure all configuration and development objects are promoted properly.
    • Introduces technical changes into the environment using a structured approach that minimizes risk and achieves high reliability, availability and performance of each SAP instance.
    • Designs and implements optimal SAP configuration to maximize system performance and availability.
    • Installs and configures all required SAP database servers and application servers.
    • Distributes the online SAP user workload and monitor and manage the SAP background job workload.
    • Configures and manages the SAP printing subsystem for all SAP instances.
    • Maintains SAP performance by planning and executing SAP tuning strategies.
    • Monitors all SAP systems (work processes, users, system logs, short dumps, locks, developer traces, system traces, disk space, etc.)
    • Administers the SAP database (plan and perform database upgrades, apply database maintenance, design and maintain physical database layout, perform database reorganizations, design and implement backup and restore strategy, maintain database security, administer database performance, manage database storage, database problem determination and resolution, etc.).
    • Performs SAP client administration (create client, copy client, delete client, export/import client) as required.
    • Participates in the planning and implementation of SAP system patching as well as upgrades.
    • Develops and maintains system documentation for all SAP instances and interfaces.
       

    Work Experience
    Required

    • Five plus years of experience in SAP database administration, with prior experience with SAP R/3 in a Linux (preferably RHEL) environment
    • Banking or financial services exposure preferred.

    Required
    Education / Qualifications / Accreditations with Professional Body

    • Bachelor's degree in Management Information Systems (MIS) or equivalent technical work experience.
    • Four years of experience in SAP database administration, with prior experience with SAP R/3 in a Linux (preferably RHEL) environment.
       

    Technical Skills Or Knowledge

    • Linux, HANA, MS SQL Server, All flavours of SAP (ABAP and JAVA)

    Android Developer (Senior) - Group_IS: Digital Channels

    Key Purpose

    Within the Digital Channels system area, senior Android developers will work on the Discovery application together with Product Owners from various business units, Business Analysts, UX/UI designers & Content Teams, System Architect and managers to understand the overall business need and the requirements, design the system solution using various approaches and technologies, implement the designed solution in the system with high quality source code.

    Senior Android developers will support the projects throughout the project lifecycle, including requirements, design, implementation, release and post release support. Android developers in the Digital Channels area must be able to technically support and maintain the deployed applications on dev, test and production environments.

    Areas of responsibility may include but not limited to
    The senior Android developer must have a competent understanding of:

    • The system development life cycle and can explain the Java developer role in each stage
    • The defined system development tools, processes and workflows
    • The distinction between business, functional and non-functional requirements and how to implement them
    • The importance of delivering high quality source code and how to achieve it
    • The technologies used and the systems components structure
    • The domain and business terminologies and link them back to system implementations

    Senior Android developers should be able to demonstrate that they can:

    • Develop, test, and maintain the deployed application software with high quality
    • Collaborate with product managers and designers to ensure a successful, high-quality product and great user experience
    • Analyse, maintain and enhance existing application and troubleshoot issues with efficiency.
    • Perform accurate development estimation
    • Produce technical specifications and designs. Participate in new business development through ideation, prototype development, and project estimates
    • Research new techniques, tools, and best practices and share that knowledge with the team and community

    Compliance Manager (Senior)

    Job Purpose

    The Health Compliance sub-pillar within Product Compliance is looking for a great person to join the team as a Senior Compliance Manager to effectively and productively assist Discovery Health in managing its responsibility to comply with all the regulatory requirements and minimise the compliance risks identified in business. The role entails the facilitation and oversight of the compliance requirements specific to Discovery Health, engaging with a diverse portfolio of stakeholder and ensuring that all compliance objectives are met, being cognisant of business needs and strategic objectives.

    In addition to the above, the role also requires the management of employees on different levels and skill sets and all other responsibilities to ensure that the employees adopt a high-performance culture. The person has the authority, accountability and responsibility for managing the coordination of resources ("how") to ensure the "what" is delivered as specified

    Job Accountabilities

    • Define, set and manage compliance frameworks, policies and standards specific to the function and ensure communication thereof to impacted stakeholders
    • Responsible for oversight of Regulatory change management and guidance on compliance impact in the various business areas.
    • Manage and oversee significant regulatory projects
    • Provide strategic guidance in decision-making on compliance or regulatory matters
    • Oversee the implementation and execution of the annual compliance monitoring plan
    • Provide written guidance to senior management on complex compliance issues
    • Ensure that monthly and quarterly compliance reports are published
    • Maintain strong working relationships with the applicable Regulators and with other interest groups in the medical schemes industry

    Educational And Experience

    • Relevant law or BCom Degree
    • The person must have a clear and in-depth understanding of the Medical Schemes Act and the medical scheme administration and managed care environment.
    • At least 6 years compliance-related experience with 3 years’ experience in the management, implementation and maintenance of compliance frameworks, including staff management
    • Proficient in Microsoft word and Excel
    • Advance reporting writing skills
    • Networking with Regulators (especially the Council for Medical Schemes).
    • Relevant experience with implementation of the Compliance Strategy and Plan execution
    • Certificate in Compliance Management (Advantage)
