    Specialist: Tax

    Purpose Statement

    • Provide subject matter expertise to enable and support tax compliance across the group.
    • Conduct monthly income and deferred tax calculations for financial accounting and group reporting purposes.
    • Assume responsibility for the 5 funds life tax calculation of Capitec Life. 

    Qualifications (Minimum)

    • Honours Degree in Accounting - Financial Accounting or Commerce
    • Qualified Chartered Accountant (CA)

    Qualifications (Ideal or Preferred)

    • A relevant post-graduate qualification in Tax or Commerce

    Experience

    Minimum:

    • 4 – 6 years’ post article experience in tax accounting and tax compliance
    • Financial services experience

    Ideal:

    • 6+ years post article experience in tax accounting and compliance

    Knowledge

    Minimum:

    • Extensive knowledge of IFRS
    • South African tax legislation
    • Financial Services landscape

    Ideal:

    • Tax legislation as it relates to Insurance
    • IFRS 17 Accounting
    • Section 29A of the Income Tax Act

    Key Tasks and Accountabilities

    Tax Compliance:

    • Review and conduct a critical analysis of monthly VAT returns and variance comparisons
    • Prepare and deliver provisional tax calculations, income tax returns, security transfer tax returns, dividend withholding tax, IT3 and FATCA/CRS returns within agreed timelines.
    • Responsible for SARS tax administration (for example registering and deregistering companies on e-filing, managing of users on e-filing and issuing Tax Clearance Certificates for all companies). 

    Tax Reporting:

    • Compile and deliver relevant monthly reports on income tax and deferred tax calculations for various companies within Capitec.
    • Responsible for the preparation of monthly 5 funds life tax computation and related SARS requirements.
    • Ensure adherence to internal tax policies and procedures including the tax compliance register, tax risk register and new business register.

    SARS and other stakeholder engagement:

    • Respond to and resolve tax related queries from the business.
    • Liaise with internal and external (SARS and BASA) stakeholders and maintain healthy interactive relationship conducive for collaboration and achievements of objectives.
    • Liaise with SARS directly to address queries and audits.
    • Coordinate the collation and exchange of information between Capitec and SARS.
    • Support the Lead: Tax with educating business stakeholders and team members on taxation principles and processes.

    SAP Systems Analyst: HCM

    Purpose Statement

    • Interpret specifications to build SAP HCM systems solutions to support business processes, aligned with relevant internal and external governance
    • Design, develop and maintain automation and integration in SAP solutions in accordance with specific business requirements and IT drivers
    • Provide technical system support and liaise with system vendors to ensure timely resolution of escalated technical issues

    Experience

    • Understanding of business Human Capital Management processes
    • 5-7 years’ experience in SAP and Data Integration in the following areas:
    • SAP HCM (PA, PY, PD, OM, etc.)
    • Integration with SAP ECC / S4 HCM modules
    • SAP SuccessFactors role based permissions / authorisations (incl. GRC)
    • HCM Master Data
    • SAP Workflow

    Solutions Architect

    Purpose Statement

    Capitec is on a drive to modernise their systems and a large part of doing that, is for us to build more of our systems in AWS.

    We need to ensure that we streamline all areas of cloud adoption within Capitec Bank and currently looking for strong Solutions Architects that can help us achieve that.

    We are looking for Solutions Architects with strong AWS experience that can help teams in Capitec ensure that their current solutions are cloud ready and if not help them with a roadmap that will help them get there.  We currently have opportunities available within various Product Teams within Capitec.

    We are looking for someone that understands modern design principles and will be able to help mentor other architects to become world class.

    Roles and Responsibilities

    • Work directly with other software architects to accelerate their projects and recommend best-practice architectures in line with their long-term business outcomes
    • Build technical relationships with other software architects and operate as their trusted advisor. The best interests of the customer will shape the guidance you provide.
    • Share the voice of the customer to inform the roadmap of AWS features.
    • Participate in the creation and sharing of best practices, technical content and new reference architectures (e.g. white papers, code samples, blog posts).
    • Advocate and educate about AWS technology (e.g. through workshops, user groups, meetups, public speaking, online videos or conferences).
    • Contribute to the growth of the Solutions Architecture organization by interviewing candidates and having a voice in hiring decisions. You will also be helping others develop new skills by mentoring team members.
    • Develop areas of depth in technical domains relevant to your interests and your customer's outcomes.

    Experience

    • 10+ years' experience in IT Delivery, including a minimum of 2+ years' experience in architecture
    • 4+ years' experience in solution design
    • 4+ years' experience as a Solutions Architect
    • Financial Services experience
    • Experience must be in designing end-to-end and full stack
      * End-to-end - able to design solution, which includes all components, ensuring that all end users are services correctly in production
      * Full stack - able to design for each component within the solution addressing the functional (application), non-functional (platform) and infrastructure and cloud services

    Qualifications / Certifications

    Minimum:

    • A relevant tertiary qualification in Information Technology
    • Grade 12 National Certificate / Vocational

    Ideal:

    • A relevant post graduate degree
    • AWS Solutions Architect Associate and/or Professional Certification

    Architect

    Purpose Statement

    • Responsible for producing a comprehensive technical specification that includes non-functional requirements
    • Assist the BA to ensure that the functional design offers a technical viable solution and address the business requirements
    • Design test plans and provide guidelines to facilitate performance and stress testing. 
    • To fulfil the role of Subject Matter Expert (SME) and senior advisor on all matters relating to solutions architecture.
    • To conceptualize, design, and articulate solution designs in relation to specific business value/problems. 
    • To forge a link between the existing enterprise architecture and a particular initiative, and guarantee the solution designed meets the company’s architecture standards and architectural vision.
