    Client Marketing Director South Africa

    Job Description And Responsibilities

    • Reporting to the Senior Director Client Marketing Sub Sahara Africa, the role will be accountable for leading the Client Marketing strategy for a key client in South Africa to support the delivery of Marketing Advisory Services with the client (70% of time), and responsible for leading the Country Marketing delivery of the market development initiatives, (30% of time). This is a pivotal role ensuring effectiveness of marketing strategy through Client partnerships with the goal of achieving Visa’s business and brand objectives in this critical market.
    • The role purpose is to strategize and partner with the Client and Account teams to identify opportunities to drive Account Plans that lead to successful commercial outcomes for the client. This will be done through leveraging Visa marketing & communications brand, assets, and capabilities, to develop co marketing programs which deliver measurable and mutually beneficial business outcomes.
    • This selected leader must have organizational savvy and interpersonal skills to build fast rapport and credibility.  Close collaboration with both executive client stakeholders and Visa leaders is essential, as is a deep experience in Stakeholder Management, Client Engagement and Strategic & executional capabilities. 
    • The selected leader will have a proven track record of success in fast paced environments with demanding timelines. and will be equally comfortable interacting with “C suite” executives and junior team members. 

    Essential Functions

    • Develop a multiyear engagement strategy and execution roadmap for the client, incorporating strategic marketing advisory capabilities which deliver value for the client.
    • Strategize and partner with client to develop, lead and execute multiyear end to end lifecycle marketing, identify, scope, business case development, price, pitch, proposal, delivery, and implementation (including delivery through 3rd party agencies creative and media agencies) and use of Visa’s marketing assets and capabilities to drive positive business outcomes for the client/s and Visa.
    • Confidently lead and facilitate marketing related conversations with the client to surface potential opportunities, scope projects, and pitch proposals
    • Develop a Go To Market (GTM) strategy, which may include new campaigns or initiatives across client’s segments and based on client and Visa joint objectives.
    • Influence and gain the support of client banks to participate in Visa marketing activities, negotiating the financial terms of their participation.
    • Coordinate and manage the Client Marketing budgets to ensure alignment to forecasts.
    • Oversee joint client marketing campaigns that align to Visa business priorities & work with both internal and external stakeholders to ensure effectiveness.
    • Translate the country strategy into a comprehensive market development marketing plan in alignment with country stakeholders. Oversee the conceptualization and delivery of market development campaigns that align to Visa business priorities & work with both internal and external stakeholders to ensure effectiveness.
    • Contribute to the identification of new market opportunities that will increase services to clients, merchants and cardholders and increase the value of the Visa brand.

    • Develop strong working relationships with key internal stakeholders and clients, ensuring a thorough understanding of their business.
    • Apply solid business and industry knowledge and latest marketing/consumer trends to carry out business objectives to achieve outcomes.
    • Working with the measurement team, deliver return on investment for all marketing spends.
    • Establish, develop, and maintain strong, collaborative working relationships across the spectrum of internal and external stakeholders.
    • Leverage data led approach and mindset: Leverage data, insights, and research to drive decision making and optimize value for client and the Visa brand. Regularly analyze results, identify areas for improvement, and make data driven recommendations to enhance impact.
    • This is a hybrid position. Hybrid employees can alternate time between both remote and office. Employees in hybrid roles are expected to work from the office 2-3 set days a week (determined by leadership/site), with a general guidepost of being in the office 50% or more of the time based on business needs.

    Qualifications

    •  10 or more years of strategic marketing experience with a bachelor’s degree
    •  Proven relationship management skills
    •  Retail Banking, Cards marketing, Payments, B2B experience an advantage.
    •  Excellent performance in marketing management (Plus 10 years’ experience in Marketing)
    •  Data driven mindset, with the ability to leverage analytics and insights to inform design decisions and measure impact.
    •  Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to articulate complex design concepts and strategies to both technical and non technical stakeholders.

    Senior Manager, Acceptance Solutions

    Job Description

    • The Acceptance Solutions team is part of the Value Added Services (VAS) organization and is responsible for enabling and growing Acceptance VAS solutions in the CEMEA region. This role will be responsible for leading several solutions in the digital space, with main focus on Visa Acceptance Platform. The role will drive payment solutions that are enabled on Visa Acceptance Platform, e.g. domestic card payments, digital payment tools, A2A payments, Installments, recurring payments. This role will be the CEMEA product SME for the Visa Acceptance Platform and is expected to develop the product strategy and go-to-market plans, ensure product commercialization readiness, grow product penetration and revenues in partnership with the Sales teams, track product performance, and lead CEMEA product customization requirements.
    • This position would be ideal for a candidate with a product management experience in the digital payments space on the acceptance side. This role is part of the hub team covering the CEMEA region and will report to the Acceptance Platform Lead within the VAS organization.

    Responsibilities

    • Be the Subject Matter Expert (SME) for the Visa Acceptance Platform, covering the value proposition and technical details
    • Partner with and support Sales teams in CEMEA with client engagements
    • Develop and execute strategy for growing product penetration and revenues, and ensure cross-functional and sales team alignment
    • Develop go-to-market-plans for the solutions, including target markets, target clients and pipeline, revenue growth goals, and align plans with sales team
    • Drive product commercialization readiness in CEMEA, including pricing strategy, collateral material, contracting process, sales team training, implementation team readiness, operating model, etc.
    • Assess and recommend tailored deployments of the solutions in scope, in collaboration with internal and external stakeholders
    • Identify product enhancements and customization requirements for CEMEA and work with the global product team for prioritizing CEMEA asks, building business cases, and delivery of these features
    • Be responsible for the annual planning for the products in scope, including KPI setting, growth targets, and alignment with cross-functional team
    • Review product performance, identify and address challenges, create product dashboards, and report on growth and progress against plans to senior management

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or technology related field
    • 7+ years of experience in digital product development and product commercialization
    • Solid knowledge of digital payments, in particular on the acceptance side, as well as good understanding of payment gateways’ service offering
    • Strong business acumen and ability to drive product strategy and commercialization
    • Solid analytical and problem-solving skills
    • Organized and strong program management experience to drive all aspects of product management
    • Ability to communicate technical concepts in a clear and articulate fashion to both technical and non-technical audiences
    • Ability to multi-task and lead different workstreams in a high pace environment
    • Ability to work efficiently with other teams and functions, including global product teams, sales teams, implementation team, pricing team, etc.

    Job Description

    • As a VCA Consulting Manager – Risk practice, you will undertake Operational Risk (i.e., authorizations and fraud) and Strategic Credit Risk-related consulting engagements for Visa clients across Sub Saharan Africa. 

    You will:

    • Deliver engagements in Authorization, Fraud and Credit Risk to inform business strategies across the credit lifecycle (acquisition, underwriting, customer management, portfolio risk management).
    • Deliver engagements in Risk Analytics (i.e., Credit Scoring for Consumer & SME Underwriting, Credit Scoring for Merchant Underwriting, Fraud Risk Scoring, Risk Based Pricing, Alternate Credit Scoring).
    • Develop trusted advisor relationships with Risk Managers/Heads at Visas client and partner organizations.
    • Participate in designing and implementing Risk advisory services and data driven solutions for Visas clients and partners.
    • Partner and collaborate with in-market VCA consultants, data scientists and broader Visa client facing stakeholders to deliver Risk-related advisory engagements.
    • Reengineer and/or package risk consulting methodologies and data driven solutions as appropriate, ensuring world-class best practices and efficiency through economies of scale.
    • Ensure consistency, standards, and quality control of risk consulting methodologies in Sub Saharan Africa.
    • Partner and collaborate with other Visa functions (e.g., Risk, Risk Products & Solutions, Client Services, CyberSource) to capitalize and optimize existing risk products and solutions.

    Type of projects you will be a part of:

    • The nature of projects this VCA Consulting Manager – Risk practice role will include supporting Issuers, Acquirers, Fintechs and MNOs solve their most strategic business problems from a Risk perspective:
    • Card/non-Card Payment Authorizations & Fraud Risk:
    • Fraud, Authentication and Authorization Optimization – Define optimal payment fraud, authentication, and authorization strategy for payments transactions with appropriate risk controls.
    • Fraud Risk Advisory – Provide support to our clients and partners on reviewing their payment fraud strategy, enhance capabilities and optimizing monitoring rules.
    • Cybersecurity Assessment – Provide support to our clients to identify vulnerability and prevent potential cybersecurity attacks.

    Strategic Credit Risk:

    • Credit Risk Diagnostic – Identify business opportunities to optimize credit risk management across the whole credit life cycle (on or off-balance sheet):
    • Credit Underwriting Reviews – Increase underwriting approvals by leveraging internal credit scoring, credit bureaus and alternate credit data and optimizing credit lending strategy / framework on decline/approve decisions, credit limit allocations and risk-based pricing.
    • Credit Line Management – Optimize credit line/capital allocation based on usage propensity, risk profile, and support operational execution across different channels.
    • Credit Cross Sell Management – Design optimal credit cross strategy and support operational execution through different channels.
    • Credit Balance Build – Build revolving balances to drive incremental lending economics through pricing optimization and cross sell opportunities.
    • Collections & Recoveries – Optimize collections and recovery (C&R) strategies and support C&R operations to reduce credit impairment losses in the P&L statement and outsourced debt to external service providers.
    • This is a hybrid position. Hybrid employees can alternate time between both remote and office.     Qualifications

    • Bachelors or Masters degree in financial and / or technology.

    What we are after:

    •  At least 5+ of solid credit risk, authorizations and fraud, and analytics experience in the following areas: underwriting / acquisition, portfolio management, and collections and recoveries.
    •  Experience within a top-tier bank or the financial services practice of a top-tier consulting firm. A combination of regional and global experience is a strong advantage.
    •  Deep consulting skills and client engagement capabilities. Advanced client contact and presentation skills. Credibility with clients and working teams and diplomatic skills to extract desired outcomes. Comfortable interacting with and presenting to senior management of Visa client and partners.
    •  A proven ability to thrive in high pressure situations and a fast paced and matrixed environment.
    •  Excellent spoken and written command of English and excellent presentation and communication skills (written and verbal) with an ability to comprehend and convey complex business information.
    •  Broad networking across banking and consulting industry with knowledge on retail and SME/business banking and card-based payments.
    •  Deep analytical and quantitative skills - highly proficient in PowerPoint, Word, and Excel. Experience in using agile methods (i.e., Design Thinking, Lean-Start-up, Scrum) would be a strong advantage.
    •  Willingness to travel and work onsite with Visa clients and partners if needed.
