    Data Analyst - Vehicle Finance and Home Loans

    Job Summary

    Responsible for identifying and executing on continuous improvement opportunities, reporting and updating the knowledge management system. Oversees and conducts the conversion of data into insights that will lead to informed business decisions. Works directly with stakeholders within the assigned departments. The Data Analyst will have to handle multiple simultaneous tasks, prioritize work, and remain functional under pressure, and aggressive timelines. Skilled in data analysis and programming, assisting the business to use the data they collect to understand trends, solve business problems, and monitor metrics. They assist with determining the data the company needs, structuring it in an appropriate format, analyzing the data using queries, and creating reports and visualizations for company decision-makers. To manipulate and prepare data for evaluation and reporting purposes, build data marts for different business users to view and use for analysis and decision making.     Key Accountabilities

    Job Description

    • Deep Dive Analytics - Analyse the transactional behaviour, profitability, customer analytics and trends throughout the life cycle of the client using, PowerBI, Tableau, SSRS, SAS base, SAS Enterprise Guide, Advanced Excel, Proc SQL, SQL and any tool that may be identified for analysis from time to time eg Hadoop. Collaborates with both business and technical teams to drive understanding of both the requirement and the solution being implemented
    • Modelling - Develop end-to-end plans and designs of models required to support in-depth customer behavioural analysis and predictions. Translate business requirements into a technical specifications
    • Analytical Insights - Perform data manipulation and analytical techniques to provide analytical insights and recommendations that support decision making to the business as and when required.     • Networking - Build and maintain relationships within relevant business units by creating an understanding of their requirements and gather feedback.     Job Description

    DC Technical Delivery & Support

    • Work embedded as part of a Data Centre execution team and take personal accountability & responsibility for deeply understanding the data centre including all equipment, layouts etc.
    • Understand data centre operational plans and how these impact on the role of Data Technician (what needs to be done & when)
    • Execute operational plans to standard (time, quality, cost). This includes executing the following technical data centre operations tasks:
    • Support the implementation of infrastructure platforms & or their components e.g. Mainframe, Tandem, Unix, Windows, Storage Technologies, Networks
    • Support the implementation & monitoring of capacity management & infrastructure Risk / Security Management on various platforms
    • Support IMAC activities
    • Hardware support on X86/intel based hardware
    • Support installation & de-installation & change requests on cabling infrastructure (per SLA’s)
    • Change & Configuration management (where applicable) including use of configuration management systems in day to day DC operations
    • Configure the infrastructure environment (as above & holistically) as required by the service being implemented or revised.
    • Manage end to end DC infrastructure operations delivery – pre (initiation), during & post (review) implementation
    • Take accountability for delivery to plan & according to SLA’s, OLA’s, DC, risk, governance & compliance standards to ensure availability, efficiency & effectiveness, risk prevention & overall DC infrastructure compliance throughout an implementation (Run / Change)
    • Leverage & coordinate specialised expertise to exercise / advise on Data Centre operations where applicable & relevant (aligned to internal process)
    • Proactively identify issues and opportunities while executing day to day DC operational activities & enable the broader DC team to minimise and prevent risk & incidents
    • Provide technical information & advice (where applicable) & make recommendations for data centre operations improvements
    • Respond to user requests for assistance & ensure reliable, accurate, effect and prompt resolution of user queries
    • Proactively educate users on DC facilities and enable their efficient & effective use of available infrastructure
    • Proactively monitor the progress and performance of infrastructure implementation & delivery
    • Develop, implement and maintain relevant infrastructure data e.g. capacity, layout & space utilisation, installation / de-installation information including implementation & progress updates etc. on appropriate systems (e.g. Service Now)
    • Communicate progress & performance data as required to the broader Team & other relevant stakeholders (if required)
    • Provide updates to team leader to ensure floor plan & capacity data is maintained
    • Provide updates to their installation, de-installation activity stakeholders
    • Ensure best practice, process, policy and controls are adhered to, identifying improvements across the data centre and computer room estate

    DC Monitoring & Evaluation

    • Ensure proactive monitoring of all critical systems within required system management tools and in some cases configure systems to enable monitoring
    • Analyse system logs, identify potential issues with server systems & implement / escalate recommended actions to resolve / mitigate business risk
    • Perform regular system monitoring, verify the integrity and availability of servers, review system and application logs, and verify completion of scheduled jobs such as backups aligned to DC policies, procedures & standards
    • Take full accountability for delivering on DC SLA’s and OLA’s using regular monitoring & evaluation as a tool to do so
    • Implement document management & governance procedures for all DC operational activity

    People

    • Take ownership for evolving own skills and capabilities aligned to the evolution of data centre technologies (e.g. virtualisation, infrastructure modernisation etc.)

    The RBB Insurance Group and Relationship Banking Internal Audit team is looking for a detail-oriented team player with an interest and preferably experience in the insurance, investment management and non-banking financial services environments (or any combination of these), who wants to gain insight into the various business operations and control processes across Africa. The Absa Financial Services (AFS) Group division provides wealth, investment management, stockbroking, trusts, will estates, financial management and short-term/life insurance products to our Absa customers.     This opportunity has become available for an experienced auditor to join our Group Internal Audit division. The post holder will execute audit assignments in accordance with the Group Audit Plan and relevant policies, procedures and quality standards.

    Additional responsibilities include but not limited to:

    • Advise Line Managers of any Policy and Procedures to be implemented.
    • Monitor the implementation of Mandates in all Business areas.
    • Ensure optimal positioning of Operational Risk within the business by creating awareness and understanding of operational risk among senior management.
    • Assist the Audit Manager with planning and execution of Design Effectiveness and Operating Effectives Testing, uniformly applying the methodology and quality standards, focusing the work on key risks, with minimum supervision from the audit manager
    • Develop and maintain relationships with key audit contacts on each audit by attending continuous stakeholder meetings. In addition, engage closely with stakeholders during assignments and encourage open discussion and interaction with business on the risks associated in their environment.
    • Support the Audit manager in the identification of risks to be tested by participating in planning sessions.
    • Develop an in-depth knowledge of Absa and the various business areas and use this knowledge to assess risks and controls through identifying, assessing and documenting risks and controls within these processes.
    • Evaluate the design and operating effectiveness of controls and document all working papers in Synergy for review by the audit manager.
    • Ensure all audit observations and planned actions are factually agreed with management as soon as they arise and increase the speed of report issuance. Provide suggestions to stakeholder management on how they can address the control issues identified.
    • On an ongoing basis throughout the audit, discuss and agree the factual accuracy of audit observations with the Audit Manager and Head of Audit.
    • Provide feedback to the Audit Manager and audit team with progress and observations raised during the audit by communicating honestly, frequently and effectively. Build and maintain good working relationships with fellow auditors..
    • Prepare audit observations and make sure that they are concise, factually accurate and cover all of the significant issues. The observations must be insightful, address the root causes, and have agreed actions that fully mitigate the risk.

    Education and Experience

    • B Degree: Accounting, Internal Audit
    • 2-3 years working in Internal/External audit or commensurate experience in a major financial institution.
    • 2-3 years Risk and Governance Auditor experience , preferably from a Bank or Audit Firm or Consultancy

    Knowledge & Skills:

    • Knowledge governance and compliance advisory in respect of banking products and investment products
    • Ability to influence and interact with various stakeholder
