    Commodity Marketer: International - GWK Trading, Douglas

    Job Description

    • Procurement and Marketing of Groundnuts in the National and International market. Marketing of other agriculture commodities. Trading includes forex hedging and execution.

    Requirements

    • Grade 12 certificate
    • Advanced Diploma / BTech Degree / Bachelor's Degree in Marketing or appropriate field of study
    • 4 years relevant experience
    • Experience in the agricultural industry: > 3 year
    • Knowledge of Groundnuts and other Agricultural Commodity hedging will reserve as recommendation
    • Forex trading experience - Experience of commodity and exchange rate trading will be a recommendation
    • Code 8 Driver's License and own vehicle

    Duties and Responsibilities

    • Preparation of Purchasing and Marketing Plan for groundnuts and other agricultural International and national agricultural commodities;
    • Conclude purchase and sale contracts and ensure that contract execution and administration is done according to procedure and contract terms.
    • Management of International customer service and relationships.
    • Manage relationships with local buyers.
    • Represent GWK at International congresses and trade fairs;
    • Building GWK Trading brand;
    • Identify opportunities or develop channels for purchase or sale of commodities
    • Hedging of exchange rate and execution of exchange rate policy and associated position report
    • Manage creditors and debtors;
    • Manage Contract Execution and logistics
    • Preparation of "deal sheet" and reconciliation of budgeted profit against actual profit;
    • Manage logistics supply chain of internationally traded commodities.
    • Ensure compliance with all the relevant legislation.

    • Responsible for ensuring the overall adherence & compliance to quality and grading standards of products received by stakeholders, as well as administration of products.

    Requirements

    • Handling Insurance claims and investigations of product.
    • Handling deviations on volume and mass at Durban warehouses
    • Sale of damaged product.
    • Ensure equipment is of a functional standard, maintained and calibrated where applicable;
    • Report any quality discrepancies directly to the senior;
    • Provide general support to the department such as accurate tracking of stock control cards
    • Assist with the administrative functions related to security, health and safety aspects
    • Manage client services by ensuring processes are in place to prevent escalation of client complaint
