    Group Accountant: Group Finance - Parktown North Johannesburg

    Job Advert Summary    

    • Preparation of Group Management Accounts, Group Consolidation and coordinating Group Budgets. Preparing the Group and certain Subsidiary Annual Financial Statements in line with IFRS.
    • The monthly processing and reporting of financial transactions of FS4P (Pty) Ltd and Advisory businesses.
    • Reporting to the Senior manager: Finance, the incumbent is responsible for preparing monthly management accounts, reconciling and commentary of financial information for the Group and various subsidiaries. Incumbent is the owner of the BI tool for reporting. 

    Minimum Requirements    
    Qualification:

    • CA (SA) from ‘Big 4 firm’. Some post-articles experience would be an advantage.
    • Previous experience in an Insurance company would be an advantage.

    Knowledge & Experience:

    • Knowledge of the insurance industry an advantage.
    • Good technical knowledge of IFRS.
    • IFRS17 knowledge an advantage.
    • Consolidations knowledge an advantage
    • Proven track record of being involved in the preparation or audit of Annual Financial Statements.

    Duties and Responsibilities    
    Processing:

    • Processing transactions in the General Ledger system including Reinsurance, Expenses, provisions and other.
    • Responsible for the invoicing and monitoring of payments between company and suppliers.
    • Managing the recoverability of reinsurance claims from reinsurers with the actuarial department.

    Reconciling:

    • Reconciling all balance sheet accounts to third party documentation.
    • Resolving outstanding issues timeously.

    Management Reporting:
    Coordination and Preparation of monthly management accounts for group and various subsidiaries for Exco. This includes:

    • Completion of consolidation workings and up-load into reporting system
    • Reconciling / proof of various key balances 
    • Preparation of I/S, KPIs, review and updating of commentary for Exco Finance report and various subsidiaries.
    • Preparation of key graphs.

    Preparation of quarterly board reports for group and various entities.

    • Analysis and commentary on variances in Income and expenses

    Statutory reporting:

    Preparation of Group Annual Financial Statements (IFRS) including liaison with  auditors, subsidiaries and printers. This includes:

    • Preparation and coordination of working packs for the Group and all subsidiaries
    • Reconciliation of all numbers to reporting system 
    • Updating of financial and non-financial information for Integrated AFS
    • Preparation of Subsidiaries’ Annual Financial Statements (IFRS) .
    • Attending to audit queries of Subsidiaries.
    • Preparation of Solvency test where applicable.

    System Administrator:

    • System administrator: CPM (Financial Reporting system/tool) 

    Budget (Group):

    • Preparation of various budget presentations (exco, boards) of subsidiaries for PPS Insurance and Holding Trust Boards.
    • Preparation and distribution of all Budget instructions to Group.
    • Managing CPM access/users and coordinating capturing on System, and the administration thereof, by cost centres.
    • Preparation of variance reports analysis for budget meetings.
    • Budget and forecast consolidation entries for Group.
    • Commentary on presentations for Subsidiaries and Group

    Budgeting (Subsidiaries):

    • Overseeing and managing the budget process for all entities within responsibility.
    • Input of budgets for central costs and revenues for all entities.
    • Review of budgets and obtain a sound knowledge of what is driving income and expenses.
    • Preparing budget presentations for Exco and Board budget meetings. 

    IFRS:

    • Analysis of the effect of new IFRS standards on Group reporting / AFS.
    • Give input on new transactions or standards impact for Audit committee papers where required.

    Client Relationship Manager - Newlands Cape Town

    Job Advert Summary    

    • To ensure that a high level of Client Services is provided to the Clients, Financial Adviser and business partners who interact with PPS Investments. The incumbent is a specialist who develops and nurtures a deep understanding of all PPS Investment processes and systems to identify opportunities to improve our servicing standards. Our Client Relationship Manager (CRM) will engage and partner with various internal and external business units to resolve any client or financial adviser query. Our CRM must display a willingness to resolve any query to serve the business, our Clients and Financial Advisers.

    Minimum Requirements    
    Ideal qualifications:

    • Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma - Business Management / Economics / Investments or similar essential
    • Knowledge of financial services industry; investments /LISP/ Asset Management environment
    • Knowledge on all applicable legislation (e.g., FICA/FAIS, FATCA, TCF, POPIA etc.)
    • Knowledge and experience in operations/client services / contact centre environment
    • Analytical, statistical and complaints handling experience 

    Ideal experience:

    • 3 - 4 years’ experience in a similar role is essential

    Systems knowledge:

    • Systems knowledge on MS Office:
