    Corporate Reporting and Communication Analyst

    GENERAL ACCOUNTABILITY:

    • Assist with the development and production of integrated reports, sustainability reports, and other stakeholder communications.
    • Gather, analyse, and synthesize financial, environmental, social, and governance (ESG) data to present a comprehensive view of Copper Africa's performance.
    • Craft compelling narratives that effectively communicate our Copper Africa's financial and operational performance, including ESG related disclosures.
    • Translate complex data and technical information into accessible and engaging content.
    • Utilise data analysis tools and techniques to extract insights from financial and sustainability data.
    • Identify trends, strengths, weaknesses, and opportunities in our performance to inform strategic decision-making.
    • Collaborate with Copper Africa functional departments to collect data and develop a clear understanding of key performance indicators, results and performance. 
    • Stay current with reporting software, data visualisation tools, and industry best practices to enhance reporting efficiency and quality.
    • Identify opportunities to improve data collection and reporting processes.
    • This role will be based at our Melrose Arch offices, reporting to the Regional Finance Programme Lead. 

    QUALIFICATIONS:

    • Post-Graduate Degree in Finance, Accounting, Sustainability, Communications, or a related field.
    • CA(SA) certification preferred.

    WORK EXPERIENCE & SKILL REQUIREMENTS:

    • Minimum 3 to 5 years of relevant experience, preferably in the mining/natural resource industry.
    • Previous experience with SAP and reporting systems is advantageous.
    • Proficient in financial analysis and reporting.
    • Demonstrated experience in reporting and corporate communication.
    • Extensive involvement in reporting, planning, operational finance, and support services functions.
    • Familiarity with financial policies, procedures, regulatory compliance, and industry best practices.
    • Proficient in financial analysis and reporting.
    • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to effectively engage stakeholders at all organisational levels.
    • Proficiency in computer literacy, including Microsoft Office applications.
    • Effective and concise verbal and written communication skills.
    • Adaptability to changing priorities and dynamic business environments.
    • Strong problem-solving abilities and analytical aptitude with keen attention to detail.
    • Analytical mindset with a meticulous attention to detail.

    Middle Office Analyst

    PRIMARY TASKS & RESPONSIBILITIES:

     

    • Responsible for deal entry validation.
    • Validating commercial terms for various commodities.
    • Deal Execution Closure.
    • Verifying accurate booking and cost allocation upon deal finalization.
    • Identifying and clarifying discrepancies with commercial team.
    • KPI monitoring and issue resolution.
    • Daily review and distribution of KPI dashboards.
    • Monitoring adherence and escalation.
    • Production of ad-hoc reports and analysis.
    • Daily coordination with Middle Office team in Headquarter.

    QUALIFICATIONS:

     

    • Relevant NQF Level 7 Qualification in Finance or relevant field.
    • Bachelor’s degree in accounting/Finance or Chartered Specialist in Accounting and Financial Management

    WORK EXPERIENCE & SKILL REQUIREMENTS:

     

    • Background in Finance/Accounting with 2-4 years of work experience in a commodity trading or financial institution.
    • Extensive Ms Office Suite including Excel.
    • Adaptable, dynamic and organised with a positive and enthusiastic attitude.
    • Proficient in written and oral communications, that actively manage expectations in an efficient way
    • Take initiative in resolving issued in a structured methodical manner.
    • Good Team Player, interacts well within a team.
    • Have a strong sense of responsibility and ownership and are attentive to detail, in a fast-moving environment
    • Willing to learn and share knowledge
    • Pro-active, accountable and self-motivated

    Tax Manager

    ACCOUNTABILITY:

    • The purpose of this role is to prepare and submit required tax returns of the organisation.
    • Examines accounts and records and computes taxes owed according to prescribed rates, laws, and regulations.
    • Additionally, ensures that the organisation complies with periodic tax payment, information reporting and other tax authority requirements.
    • Represents organisation at the local tax regulatory authority and organizes and maintains tax records and conducts tax studies and special projects

    • Internal and External stakeholders
    • Tax authorities

    QUALIFICATION:

    • Bachelor`s degree in Law / Accounting / Finance or a qualified CA(SA
    • Master`s degree in taxation / HDipTax or equivalent will be an added advantage.

    Work Experience:

    • 3 to 5 years tax experience in the Big 4 environment
    • Experience in mining tax an advantage

    GENERAL ACCOUNTABILITY:

    • Direct and indirect tax compliance, including Transfer Pricing, Mining Royalties and Carbon Tax.
    • Group Tax reporting
    • Liaising with tax authorities
    • Direct and indirect tax audits
    • Drafting of Tax Opinions
    • Corporate restructurings, mergers, and acquisitions
    • Creating awareness and training about tax developments
    • Tax policy and tax risk management
