    Specialist SCM Reporting

    Appointment Requirements:

    • National Diploma (NQF 6) in Supply Chain Management or relevant equivalent
    • 3 years’ relevant experience

    Primary Function:

    • The Specialist Reporting role has a primary focus on preparing and analyzing reports specifically for the Supply
    • Chain Management (SCM) Department. This involves gathering and organizing relevant data, generating comprehensive reports, and conducting in-depth analysis to provide valuable insights and support informed decision-making within the SCM Department.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Prepare and analyse reports such as procurement plan, B-BBEE Spent, Deviation, Contract Register/Reports. Workwith procurement and business partners to assess their business needs and contribute meaningfully to the
    • development of procurement and category management strategies.
    • Provide preferential procurement spend reports on a monthly, quarterly and annual basis.
    • Draft and submit management reports so that internal and external stakeholders are informed of performance progress and relevant issues of the unit.
    • Provide reports to Senior Manager: SCM Governance and Compliance on: Performance against the business and operational demand plans,
    • Governance, risk and compliance. Progress in relation to compliance and alignment activities and reliance on existing assurance for the unit.     Specialist SCM Demand

    Appointment Requirements:

    • National Diploma (NQF 6) in Supply Chain Management or Finance
    • 3 years’ relevant experience

    Primary Function:

    • The Specialist Demand holds a critical responsibility for managing demand-related functions within the Supply
    • Chain Management (SCM) department. They collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop accurate demand forecasts, align supply chain strategies, and implement effective demand management processes.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Provide support in coordinating the compilation and approval of Annual Procurement plan. Link procurement plan with the City Power business plan and the strategic plan. 
    • Link procurement plan with the IDP of the City of Johannesburg. 
    • Advise commodity managers on their BEE expenditure. Analyse the data on historic procurement spend. 
    • Understand the market dynamics in terms of new technologies when dealing with specifications. 
    • Provide support in monitoring the implementation of the annual procurement plan. Conduct needs assessment by collecting and analyzing relevant data, categorizing commodities and confirming availability of funds. 
    • Collaborate with City Power’s BEE department to meet City Power’s BEE expenditure targets on designated groups are achieved.
    • Consolidate related needs across the business to ensure economies of scale when procuring goods and services.
    • Advise on preference points system and appropriate goals per commodity in terms of procurement policy objectives.
    • Provide support in coordinating and advising on the process of drafting specifications/terms or reference and special conditions of contract.
    • Conduct market assessment and industry analysis per commodity. 
    • Conduct market research and advice the business on sourcing strategies per commodity

    Specialist External Communications

    Appointment Minimum Requirements:

    Primary Function:

    • The External Communications Specialist is responsible for managing public relations, disseminating information, and addressing media inquiries, and councillors’ information concerns. They are also proficient in strategizing and executing impactful social media campaigns and advertising and advocacy initiatives to promote the organization's objectives.

    Key Responsibilities:

    •  Develop and implement effective corporate communication strategies to enhance the organization's brand image and reputation.
    •  Manage external communications platforms & channels, including drafting and distributing speeches for the CEO, political principals, and City Power executives, memos, reports, newsletters, and other relevant materials.
    • Create compelling content, such as press releases, for distribution to mass media outlets or the company's website.
    •  Organize and coordinate initiatives, events, Cllr meetings, and press conferences to ensure effective communication with external stakeholders.
    •  Act as a liaison with the media, handling requests for interviews, statements, and other media-related interactions.
    •  Build and maintain relationships with advocates, including influencers and key individuals to support positive public perception and engagement.
    •  Collaborate with marketing professionals to develop engaging copy for advertisements, articles, and other promotional materials.

    Senior Manager Legal

    Appointment Minimum Requirements:

    •  B.PROC/LLB (NQF 7)
    •  7 years’ relevant experience, of which 3 years must be in middle management and in the legal discipline. Professional Registration Admission as Attorney/ Advocate

    Primary Function:

    • The fundamental aim of this position is to deliver professional, precise, and reliable legal counsel to the business, thereby reducing potential legal risks that the business might encounter in its day-to-day operations.

    Key Responsibilities:

    •  Provide expert and strategic legal advice to management on various complex matters, ensuring that all advice given mitigates risk and supports City Power's business goals.
    •  Assist in formulating and implementing City Power policies, ensuring they align with current laws and regulations.
    •  Development of strategy and principle to Review, draft, and negotiate contracts, agreements, and other legal documents to safeguard the organisation’s full legal rights. This could include employment contracts, supplier agreements, customer contracts, partnership agreements, and more.
    •  Ensure City Power is in compliance with all current laws and regulations relevant to its operations, including corporate governance, employment laws, data protection, intellectual property, etc.
    •  Provie strategic direction in Identifying and analysing potential legal risks and implications, guide management in decision-making from a legal perspective, and propose actions to mitigate identified risks.
    •  Oversee the resolution of legal disputes, which may involve managing litigation, negotiating with third parties, or working closely with external counsel.
    •  Liaise with relevant regulatory bodies and represent City Power in any legal proceedings.
    •  Develop policies, procedures, and standards that regulate the key aspects for which the department is responsible. Ensure appropriate assurances are applied to monitor compliance with these policies, procedures, and standards.
    •  Provide strategic direction for the provision of competent legal advice and services, anticipating and evaluating potential legal problems.
    •  Collaborate with various Groups within City Power, supporting the development of business contracts and interpreting laws, rulings, and regulations. Prepare legal documents such as briefs, pleadings, appeals, initial and amended articles of incorporation.
    •  Identify potential legal implications, opportunities, and risks under the laws in which City Power conducts its business and advise management appropriately. Formulate legal strategies for cases filed by/against City Power to safeguard interests effectively and fulfil legal obligations.
    •  Ensure timely submission of relevant documents and returns to external stakeholders/regulatory authorities.
    • Represent City Power for resolution of any legal issue or escalation and ensure compliance of all legal documents with the relevant legal framework.
    •  Research and evaluate different risk factors regarding business decisions and operations. Review documentation before submission to the General Manager’s office.
    •  Manage the resources of the department/division effectively and lead cost control activities to maximise efficiency.
    •  Represent the department/division at various forums and confidently raise issues at the appropriate governance structures.
    •  Train and guide City Power staff on legal matters, company policies, risk management, and compliance. This role may also involve managing a team of junior legal professionals.
    •  Continually stay updated with changes in laws and regulations that affect City Power and industry.

    Senior Manager Finance Strategic Support

    Primary Function

    Senior Manager Service Delivery Centre Operations

    Primary Function

    • The position involves planning, coordinating, and supervising business performance in accordance with the Service Delivery Centre Group targets and the wider strategic objectives of the organisation. The Senior Manager is expected to meticulously evaluate performance data, identify opportunities for growth, and launch strategic initiatives to boost productivity and efficiency.
    • The role also involves crafting and implementing robust business plans that are in harmony with City Power’s overarching strategic objectives. Additionally, the Senior Manager is tasked with guiding the development and execution of operational plans and reports across all Service Delivery Centre functions, ensuring that they support the Group’s strategic ambitions and contribute meaningfully to the company's overall success.

    Key Responsibilities

    •  Actively participate in creating the Service Delivery Centre Group strategy, plans, and budgets.
    •  Collaborate closely with senior leadership to understand the organisation's overarching strategy and goals, translating these into tangible Group plans.
    •  Identify areas where the Group can add value to the organisation and devise strategies to seize these opportunities.
    •  Conduct regular reviews and adjustments of the strategic plan to ensure it remains in alignment with the organisation’s objectives
    •  Assess and provide feedback on the relevance of certain key performance indicators and measures in relation to the outcomes specified in the Group’s strategic plans.

    •  Develop and manage the group’s control self-assessments for both audit and risk management.
    •  Manage the Internal and External Audit process and coordinate all requests for information (RFIs) for the Group.
    •  Manage and report on the resolution of Audit Findings as per requirement.
    •  Monitor strict adherence to governance principles and set high standards of professionalism within the Group. Ensure legislative compliance relating to the Group is met.
