    Artisan Welder (Temp)

    PURPOSE OF THE JOB

    • Fabricate and repair of steel components, sub-assemblies and carbody shells as per specified work procedure, work instruction and Engineering drawings to meet the defined production schedules and quality levels. Require to use various welding techniques.
    • Environmental Health & Safety, Logistics, Production, Process and manufacturing engineering, Quality

    MAIN RESPONSABILITIES  

    Tasks & Responsibilities:

    • Ensure and comply with safety standards guidelines, policies and procedures
    • To conduct quality self-inspection of own work before shipping to next station.
    • Maintain 5S condition of the working zone / Housekeeping.
    • Welding locomotive components as per welding procedure
    • Operating hand and power tools
    • Preparing and setting-up of necessary tools and equipment for welding jobs.
    • Identify welding defects and repair
    • Gouging
    • Exercise skills and knowledge of welding trade qualification
    • Correctly instruct, and transfer skills to any apprentice and semi-skilled worked assigned to you to ensure safety and quality of work
    • Drive cost improvement initiatives through continuous improvement.
    • Maintain equipment standards (through First level maintenance schedules).
    • Identify and report any secondary damages.
    • Propose potential quality or productivity enhancements
    • Report fabrication issues and assist in resolutions as required.
    • Support with ad hoc operational activities to support production as and when required.  

     MAIN REQUIRED COMPETENCES

    Educational Requirements

    Mandatory:

    • Minimum Grade 12 / N3
    • Formal Trade Qualification in Welding

    Desirable:

    • Recognize apprenticeship or ARPL  

    Experience

    Mandatory:

    • Minimum 3 - 5 years relevant welding fabrication experience in GMAW (CO2)
    • Knowledge of OSHACT

    Head of PME Designate

    PURPOSE OF THE JOB

    •  Organize the co-engineering and industrial development to ensure product and process design are optimized for manufacturability.
    •  Ensure the transferability of the industrial activities by using standard processes
    •  Drive industrialization resources in the tenders, development phase, pre-serial phase and serial production phase.
    •  Organize the management of Special Processes and critical operations regarding product safety and reliability.

    Responsibilities
     At tender phase:

    •  Ensure that the industrial assumptions (PIO, MoB, Macro-process) are defined in line with industrial Reflib and SMP/SML of the product range.
    •  Validate the quotation relative to the industrial costs.

     At project execution phase:

    •  Ensure the implementation of the standard processes and the standard product solutions: SMP/SML, standard equipment, standard solutions
    •  Ensure the manufacturability (and the transferability if relevant) using validated technologies
    •  Ensure co-engineering methodology and rules are followed-up to optimize lead time and quality of development.
    •  Validate, for the industrial scope, the gate reviews of the DFQ, and that the conditions to pronounce the Serial Go are fulfilled.
    •  Ensure documentation and ERP data are complete, on time and with the good level of quality.
    •  Organize and ensure the implementation of manufacturing equipment on time, in line with EHS rules, with good ergonomic conditions, and compliant with the QCD targets of the project.
    •   Drive continuous improvement actions and support production.

     Management of Resources

    •  Manage the staff capacity and competencies
    •  Control the actual and forecasted workload.

     Manage the EHS requirements in the field of industrialization, and as management committee member.

    •  Participate to the PME Networks.
    •  Contributes to build or improve standards.
    •  Ensure good participation of his collaborators to the relevant networks.

    Educational Requirements

    •  Technical education.

    •  English read, written, spoken

    DESIRED KNOWLEDGE / EXPERIENCE

    • Industrial background with 10 years’ experience preferably in the railway industry, ideally in an international
    • organization
    • Ability to manage a team of engineers and technicians in technical fields.
    • Technical experience of Process Engineering, writing and improving manufacturing work instructions, line balancing,
    • Lean Manufacturing.
    • Experience in working with an ERP (such as SAP) for Bill of Materials, Routings, Configuration follow-up
    • Working knowledge of Quality and Health & Safety standards and systems

    Senior Tooling Engineer

    Purpose of the Job:

     

    Evaluating new, existing processes, jigs & layouts and configuring manufacturing systems to reduce cost, improve sustainability and develop best practices within the production process.

     

    Key responsibilities include the following:

     

    • Lead and Monitor plant Tooling activities 
    • Review, update and design the best jigs, Equipment for working production process
    • Create and update shop floor layout
    • Define better and cost-effective standard tooling for manufacturing.
    • Develop equipment’s specification when necessary.
    • During ramp up, improve process capability and production volume while maintaining and improving quality standards to meet 2 cars per day.
    •  Develop and implement Tooling Standards for all projects.
    • Train and support tooling engineers
    • Review and validate all plant Jigs anfd Tooling designs
    • Participate in Jigs and Tooling network, and create local REX database 
    •  Update Industrial Maturity Follow Up (IMFU).
    •  Update Equipment Maturity Follow Up (EMFU).
    • Develop innovative solutions and ensure projects are completed on time.
    • Maintain reliable and safe manufacturing systems while improving production rates, efficiencies, yields, costs and changeovers.
    • Provide suggestions during incident investigations.
    • Analyse issues observed during manufacturing and create action plans using tools like QRQC.
    •  Development of instruction sheets with all information required on manufacturing process of each part or assembly.
    •  Create rework procedures in case of non-conformance
    • Define consumable materials to be used on manufacturing process and also quantities.
    • Process all documentation giving make or buy view (considering structure available on shop floor) and splitting properly all material between workstations.
    • Jigs verification during manufacturing phase to ensure good quality parts are produced.
    • Participate on concurrent engineering or design reviews always pushing design engineering to have the best design considering QCD. Propose changes and improvements to be implemented on design.
    • Create Industrial Data Sheets to analyse each installation considering tools and devices required on manufacturing process, EHS risk analysis, Ergonomics, Method time evaluation and Macro Process.
    • Support method time calculation and task sequences creation

    Requirements:

    • B-tech or ND in Mechanical  Engineering 
    • Minimum 5 years’ experience
    • Advanced knowledge of 2D (AutoCAD) & 3D CAD (CATIAV5, ProENG…)
    • Previous experience designing Jigs, fixtures, shop floor layouts and assembly work for automotive/rail industries
    • Previous worked in a manufacturing environment
    • Jigs and layout simulation  experience
    • Proven experience - Industrial and lean manufacturing

    CBS Quality Manager

    Purpose of the Job

    • The CBS Quality Manager manages in his/her scope of work, the actions to ensure the conformity of the product and to help the continuous improvement on quality processes. Ensure the conformity of the product and act quickly to solve quality issues.

    Responsibilities:

    • Understand customer needs and requirements to develop effective quality control processes
    • Devise and review specifications for products or processes
    • Solicit feedback from the customer to assess whether their requirements are met
    • Leading a team in meeting and exceeding their objective.
    • Ensure the respect of the Control Plan and Self Inspection at each workstation.
    • Ensure QRQC/8D methods are being followed when analysing the Root cause of the problem
    • Ensure the sign of process is being adhered to on all necessary documents to complete the Delivery Logbook.
    • To promote the Transport QMS, contribute to its definition, deployment and improvement in the Production line activities.
    • To continually search for effectiveness of QMS to support Business activities and to increase Customer Satisfaction.
    • To be aligned to the Quality Director on transversal activities.
    • Compliance of the Production Line Management System.
    • Respect of yearly Quality System event deadlines (process reviews, QMR, internal audits.      
    • Effective management of action plans resulting from external or internal audits.
    • Buy off the final product (at PC2) before the release for delivery.
    • Attend the daily meeting in the workshop.
    • Defined and communicate the quality acceptance criteria at each workstation.
    • With manufacturing manager, train to use the self-inspection sheets.
    • Ensure efficiency of self-inspection.
    • Ensure efficiency of control plan to avoid defects detected by internal and external customers.

     Requirements

    • B-Tech Degree in Industrial / Mechanical Engineering / Technical qualification.
    • Leadership or and people management qualification will be advantageous
    • Qualification in Quality management is essential and highly recommended
    • Management role with 2 to 5 years’ experience preferably in the manufacturing quality environment, ideally in an international organization.
    • Internal auditing techniques training or experience  will be advantageous
    • Outstanding communication skills
    • Excellent organizational and leadership skills
    • In depth understanding of quality control procedures and relevant legal standards
    • A keen eye for detail and a results driven approach
    • Computer literate (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
    • Knowledge of fitment assemble inspection / Quality management.

    Repair Controller

    Purpose of the job:

    Manage order process for repairable materials to ensure float is available for Operational requirements.

    Ensure supplier communication/orderbooks and system data are correctly managed and delivery commitments are met.

    Requirements:

    • Industrial Engineering or Supply Chain qualification or equivalent
    • Minimum of 4 years’ experience in a similar role within Supply Chain
    • Experience /understand parts repair process
    • Good knowledge of ERP: SAP
    • MS Office literate
    • Financial and commercial awareness

    Responsibilities:

    • Expedite the delivery of repairs from external suppliers ensuring supplier and customer OTIF is achieved
    • Monitoring and updating SAP records
    • Maintaining order book accuracy and fulfilment.
    • Coordinate all internal and external logistics activities associated with all overhaul contracts to ensure that customer milestone dates are met
    • Manage the workload of the service, the “Make or Buy” of validation work packages and validation means
    • Ensure materials/services are delivered in-line with business requirements through expediting orders and updating the business system, communicating, and escalating issues
    • Manage the stock levels of repairable materials ensuring they are kept at an optimum level through monitoring usage, raising orders, expediting and stock controlling
    • Establish the priorities for Internal repairs and communicate them with the Repairs planners to the Workshop
    • Respond to internal customer and internal queries in a timely and effective manner
    • Maintain an accurate ‘base data’ within the computer-based stock control system
    • Provide full Repair planner support for any identified project activities / requirements.
    • Act as a champion for warehouse function both internally and externally
    • Cover other Purchasing Functions (Supply Chain Coordinator, MRP Controller) when required
