    Operations Supervisor

    Job Description    

    • Managing bulk department
    • Liaising with administrative functions
    • Liaising with transporters and customers
    • Production management and scheduling as required
    • Coordinating with other departments within the company to ensure that the appropriate resources are available to meet project demands
    • Checking on the status of projects at various stages of development to ensure that they are progressing as planned
    • Monitoring operational data, such as equipment malfunctions or labour shortages, to identify any problems that may need to be addressed immediately
    • Coordinating with other departments such as sales, production, planning, and procurement, technical and warehousing to ensure that operations are running smoothly
    • Reviewing processes to ensure that they meet all company standards for quality and compliance with industry regulations
    • Overseeing operations staff to ensure that they are performing their jobs correctly and efficiently
    • Maintain accurate records of all operational activities
    • Work with other departments to ensure that all operational processes are running smoothly and efficiently
    • Assist in the development and implementation of new policies and procedures as needed
    • Generate regular reports on operational performance and submit to senior management
    • Identify areas of improvement and recommend solutions to optimize efficiency

    Qualifications & Experience

    Maintenance Artisan

    Job Description    

    • Execute scheduled and routine maintenance on Trucks and LDV’s, machinery and equipment.
    • Perform engineering inspections, identify problem areas and implement pro-active maintenance and plant improvement corrective action.
    • Optimise vehicle reliability by continually improving the preventative maintenance system through the identification of opportunities for improvement.
    • Provide appropriate and adequate feedback and input to the Engineering Team Manager with respect to plant condition, spares and scheduling requirements, and repairs carried out.
    • Perform safety and health inspections and implement corrective action.
    • Assist in the training and development of subordinates.
    • Be actively involved in World class initiatives
    • Maintain World Class filing in maintenance
    • Must be actively involved in housekeeping on plant, site and all subsidiary equipment

    General

    • Must be able to perform overtime duties and standby
    • Must be able to perform 4 x 4 shift or alternative shift arrangement as allocated
    • Must have own transport, valid driver’s licence and must be able to pass a driving assessment.
    • Must be able to work without supervision
    • Must be willing to be cross-trained on electrical, instrumentation, hydraulics and general Diesel mechanic.

    Qualifications & Experience    

    • Trade Tested Millwright/Diesel Mechanic
    • Minimum of 5 years Mechanical experience within a manufacturing environment.
    • Must have experience working on Hydraulics.
    • Must have experience working with hand tools such as jigsaws, drilling machines, bench grinders and machinery.
    • Pneumatic experience advantageous (Essential diesel mechanic)
    • A good understanding and knowledge of safety standards, quality management and production processes.
    • Closed and open loop Hydraulic experience essential (advantageous if Diesel mechanic position)
    • Low voltage DC electric/hydraulic interface experience
    • Hands-on hydraulic, electrical and maintenance experience is essential
    • A good understanding of PLC logic required
    • Axles/brakes/prop shaft experience essential (Diesel Mechanic)
    • Code 14 Licence advantageous.

    Product Manager: Cooling Water

    Job Description    

    • Compiles product test reports, case studies, data sheets and other sales support literature
    • Rationalises assigned product range by discontinuing slow moving products and SKUs
    • Manages new product introductions in compliance with NPI procedures and documentation requirements
    • Introduces, launches and rolls-out new products and technologies from technology partners and/or internal product development in line with the company’s strategy
    • Promotes and supports sales of products and technology aimed at increasing AECI Water’s market share and value-add in the assigned product market(s)
    • Provides technical support to Sales and channel partners w.r.t. program selection and optimisation, product testing and tender submissions aligned to technical specifications
    • Conducts site surveys, application audits and coordinates product field trials with the relevant Sales teams
    • Assists with troubleshooting and resolving product quality issues and NCRs
    • Conducts product and applications training for Sales personnel, customers and channel partners
    • Leads technical training and skills upliftment campaigns in line with company skills gap and training needs analyses
    • Works individually, or in multi-disciplinary teams on strategic projects defined by the H.O.D. or Technology Executive
    • Works in conjunction with Product Manager for Monitoring & Control, to promote and implement onsite monitoring and control solutions
    • Provides technical/application input into proposal development
    • Conducts analysis of portfolio market share and business attrition rate
    • Ensures personal safety compliance and manages safety risks in his/her areas of responsibility
    • Promotes company safety culture by inculcating Zero Harm initiatives in all dealings with internal and external stakeholders

    Qualifications & Experience    

    • Bachelor’s degree or Advanced Diploma in Chemistry/Biochemistry/Microbiology
    • Additional Business qualification/s will be advantageous
    • Successful completion of SUEZ/VEOLIA Cooling Technical Training
    • Water and wastewater treatment industry experience > 10 years
    • Industry Marketing and/or Technical Sales experience > 5 years

    Development Engineer - Hardware

    Job Description    

    • Design a product or product part according to a provided system specification.
    • Build a prototype of the design to test the theoretical analysis. 
    • Test the prototype to ensure that it will perform consistently in the specified operating environment.
    • Where necessary, ensure that the product will integrate efficiently with the devices developed by other engineers.
    • Design a production version of the prototype according to the specified standards ensuring that the product can be replicated reliably and consistently.
    • Design (or contribute toward) a testing facility for the product.
    • Document the design according to specified standards.
    • Follow up on any application specific problems that may occur.

    Qualifications & Experience    

    • Eng (electronics) / Bsc Engineering (Electronics) or equivalent.
    • A minimum of 5 years’ experience with analogue and digital circuit design and embedded programming as well as the industrialization of electronic products.
    • Good understanding and experience of both hardware and software.
    • Good C/C++ skills preferential.
    • Good Altium Designer skills preferential.

    Accounts Receivable Administrator

    Job Description    

    • Accounts receivable processing: Daily processing of all debtors incoming receipts and clearing of all customer accounts, request remittance advice to reconcile unapplied payments, verify tax exemptions, request WHT certificates and initiate journal vouchers
    • Debt collection: Compile AR age analysis report and update daily commentary. Follow up on unpaid or short paid accounts and ensure full payment is received, overdue escalated and make sure they are resolved within SLA, Escalate and address outstanding debt issues to AR Manager and Business, as per customer management process.
    • Credit control: Perform credit application function, annual credit limits reviews, credit adjustments, credit limit monitoring, notify customer/relevant parties when customer credit limit is about to be reached.
    • Reporting: Update and provide daily commentary on overdue debtors, Daily confirmation, Actual vs. Confirmations, Subsequent receipts, Compile age analysis.
    • Dispute and query resolution: Ensure to resolve customer disputes/queries within SLA, Escalate unresolvable disputes/queries to business manager, and communicate outcomes of disputes/queries to all relevant parties.
    • Business controls and governance: Comply with AR policies and procedures, Comply with SLA criteria (specific to area of responsibility).
    • Regularly meet with Customer and Regional Managers from different departments to discuss overdue debtors
    • Comply with Safety, Health and Environment standards
    • Ensure open communication channels to staff and implement change management interventions where necessary

    Qualifications & Experience    

    • Matric and studying towards University degree or National Diploma in Accounting or Credit Management
    • 2-3 years’ experience as Accounts Receivable administrator
    • Experience with ERP systems SAP R3
    • Intermediate skills in MS Office, Word, Excel and Outlook
    • Ability to analyse and perform AR reconciliation for customer accounts
    • Good command of written English for business writing and presentation purposes
    • Knowledge of Mining and Chemicals environment
    • Understanding of company strategies regarding the improvement of Working Capital, Departmental goals, Process improvements
