    Professional Nurse - Kimberley

    Work Description

    • The Quality Nurses is responsible for providing on-site and hands on gaps analysis, QI coaching to TB focal staff and facility staff, in depth analysis of TB Indicators as well as assist in the co-ordination and management of all QI Projects within a District. They will have a dual function in providing direct service delivery within the TB program at hospital level to update data recording systems and linkage to care activities as specified by Quality Improvement Advisor and Program Manager for project.

    Technical Work Responsibilities

    • Liaise with Internal and External Customers/Stakeholders

    District Manager - Kwazulu Natal

    Work Description

    • The District Manager is responsible for the effective leading and management of the district team in line with the project objectives, budget and timelines. This includes overseeing, planning, management and implementation of activities by the members of the team, the day-to-day management of all operations and interactions within the project. This position requires a deep understanding of the public health system, public health knowledge, quality improvement knowledge and experience, as well as excellent analytical, interpersonal, organizational, communication skills and the ability to exercise own discretion,, and the ability to strengthen good relationships with all internal and external stakeholders.

    Technical Work Responsibilities

    • Support the integration of TB/DR TB, HIV and NCDs
    • Conduct TB/DR TB, HIV and NCDs training needs assessments at the health facilities
    • Conduct training related to TB/DRTB, HIV and NCDs management, both clinical and managerial with the intension of improving TB treatment outcomes in the designated facilities
    • Collaborate with Community Teams/CBOs to facilitate continuity of care and improve TB/DRTB, HIV and NCD treatment outcomes
    • Provide mentoring and technical assistance in the implementation and operationalization of the projects TB/DRTB, HIV and NCDs interventions at health facility level
    • Liaison with External and Internal Stakeholders towards achievement of operational goals

    Duties:

    • Work closely with facility personnel and other stakeholders e.g. laboratory services, pharmacy to develop and implement strategies to strengthen TB, DR TB, HIV and NCDs program management
    • Work with DOH facility staff in scaling up successful interventions
    • Work closely with DOH District Team to ensure access to facilities and implementation of Programme interventions.
    • Strengthen Public private partnership within the district
    • Build relationships with Community Based Organizations within the District.
    • Ensure excellent communication relating to District Operations between the range of internal Aurum structures and appropriate levels of external stakeholders towards the achievement of operational goals
    • Lead and coordinate engagement with stakeholders and communities at district level, ensuring that feedback is communicated to the project team and that relations with key stakeholders are formalised through memoranda of understanding or similar agreements
    • Write reports, conduct meetings, and communicate with stakeholders on district operational issues
    • Develop and/or communicate internal policies and operating procedures to District Operations that are pertinent to operational delivery
    • Ensure that internal departmental communications are optimized to facilitate operating delivery and conduct regular meetings with senior subordinate personnel
    • With the Operations Director and Technical teams, develop district operational plans and budgets, ensuring that specific indicators and realistic targets are developed
    • Provide visible leadership and support to regional teams and facilitate regional activities and logistics in order to implement operational plans
    • Provide guidance to regional management teams on the development of tools, systems and workflow procedures for effective and efficient implementation of operational plans
    • Provide guidance to regional management teams to ensure that capital and other material resources are distributed according to need, properly managed and maintained, and accounted for i.e. site premises, stocks, funds, vehicles and equipment
    • Ensure collaboration of operational teams with  technical teams in order to deliver on programme objectives effectively
    • Ensure efficient and appropriate cooperation between operational teams and Aurum support services i.e.  Finance & Procurement, HR, IT, Data Management, etc.
    • Facilitate research activities in areas where epidemiological studies are linked to operations
    • Ensure that scheduled special and practical activities are rolled out in district operations, such as monitoring & evaluation, quality control, staff performance management, service provider contract renewals, financial reviews etc.
    • With the Operations Director, review and analyse technical, operational and financial reports, and direct the implementation of operational corrective actions
    • Where appropriate, assist Technical teams and Aurum partners to provide mentoring and support to sub-district level Department of Health officials.
    • Collate data, provide information and/or draft district operational reports for the  as needed
    • Manage the budget approved for the District’s operations
    • Analyse and investigate variances of cost reports and providing explanations for variances
    • Monitor cost expenditures of the District’s operations.
