    Project Coordinator - Tembisa

    Work Description:

    • The Project Co-ordinator is a member of a Project Management Team responsible for administratively organising, coordinating, and tracking the Project Management Teams of the Research Projects and ensuring that the objectives and milestones are tracked, met and that the Project is organised and running smoothly through tracking of action items and decisions made during regular team meetings.

    Technical Work Responsibilities

    • Liaise with stakeholders internally and externally.

    Community Engagement Manager - Tembisa

    Work Description

    • The Community Engagement Manager is responsible for overseeing the Community Engagement Department at each site, which includes Recruitment and Retention, Stakeholder Engagement/Management, and Community Education.
    • The Community Engagement Manager is responsible for developing relationships through targeted Outreach activities and increasing public awareness of Aurum’s various Clinical Research Studies, Programmes, Services and Initiatives.
    • The Community Engagement Manager will also build mutually beneficial relationships with key stakeholders based on GPP principles.
    • He/she will be responsible for ensuring that study related recruitment and retention targets are met within the stipulated timelines.

    Technical Work Responsibilities

    • Work closely with the Programme/Project Team to plan and deliver a Community Engagement Programme of Events, Exhibitions, Activities and Resources
    • Explore options for creative Outreach Activities
    • Develop a Succession Plan and build sustainability into the research studies to ensure sustainability.
    • To work with the Programme/Project Team to assist in the production of a Community Engagement Strategy
    • To recruit, supervise and train any Volunteers to support the Community Engagement activities
    • He/she will supervise all Community Engagement team at the site level
    • To effectively evaluate trial performance against planned Goals, Objectives and Targets.
    • To produce timeous, accurate and detailed Reports (Internal and External Reports) as required
    • To ensure that Recruitment and Retention Figures are met in line with each study accruals

    Requirements

    Education

    • A Bachelor’s degree in the Social or Health Sciences or equivalent National Qualification Framework (NQF) Level 6 or 7

    Advantageous

    • Knowledge of any Good Participatory Certificate (GPP): TB Vaccine, HIV Prevention, TB Treatment and Trials of emerging (and re-emerging) pathogens
    • A Good Clinical Practice (GCP) Certificate
    • A GPP certificate
    • B A degree in Human and Social Sciences, Health Science or related field
    • Honours Degree will be an advantage
    • Knowledge of the Department of Health’s TB and HIV programs

    Experience

    • At least 3 years’ experience in the management of HIV/TB Research Programmes

    Quality Manager - Tembisa

    Work Description: 

    • The Quality  Manager is responsible for ensuring that quality standards and procedures are met and aligned with legislation and Customer specifications through managing the Organization’s quality assurance policies and controlling new product development processes. The Quality  Manager is also responsible to establish performance standards, procedures and audit controls in order to meet business requirements, identify and implement process improvements to increase efficiency, effectiveness and quality of Company operations.

    YOUR JOB WILL BE TO:

    • Provide leadership developing and directing quality control (QC) and quality assurance (QA) for quality department by means of attention to all processes and procedures in the delivery of projects
    • Monitor QA systems and advise research  team on system performance
    • Setting up and oversight of review systems necessary to ensure high quality data collection
    • Setting up and oversight of regulatory systems to ensure all study documents are accurate and in accordance with ethical and regulatory procedures e.g. Investigator Site files
    • Ensuring the accurate, timely, complete, ethical and efficient processing of study data in accordance with the study protocol, ethical and regulatory guidelines
    • Perform gap analysis between applicable and current ICH GCP standards
    • Establish and implement a quality plan to bring the company into ICH GCP compliance
    • Perform internal QA audits that are compliant with the company’s policies, practices and procedures
    • Implementation and evaluation of a Quality Management Program including risk analysis, verifications, validation activities and formal design reviews
    • Preparation of the site for external monitoring visits
    • Development, review and   implementation of protocol specific quality management plan
    • Monitoring and reporting on quality issues to senior site management
    • Review of pharmacy and laboratory procedures
    • Review of regulatory binders
    • Maintenance, version control and distribution of standard operating procedures and work practice guidelines binders

    Requirements

    Radiographer QC - Northern Cape

    • The radiographer quality control monitor will be responsible for a high standard radiographic chest x-ray imaging, including the use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) for reading images whilst ensuring that patients receive high-quality care and linkage to appropriate services. The radiographer quality control monitor (RQCM) will also be responsible for performing quality assurance processes as stipulated in the regulations.

    Objective

    • Providing a high standard of radiographic chest x-ray imaging, including the use of artificial intelligence (AI) for reading images whilst ensuring that patients receive high-quality care and linkage to appropriate services.
    • Liaising with relevant district/sub-district management teams and facilities for planning and allocation purposes.
    • Communicating effectively with facility-based outreach teams to ensure the delivery of high-quality service.
    • Acquire relevant quality control manuals and compile a standard operating procedure to ensure that QC tests are correctly performed.
    • Mentor radiographers performing routine tests to ensure that they are competent to execute the tests.
    • Ensure that all the quality control tests are performed at the prescribed frequencies as stipulated in the license conditions.
    • Ensure average Dose Area Product (average dose/average time) readings are calculated and documented.

    Primary Responsibilities

    • Ensure clients sign the consent forms before Xray exposure
    • Ensure that the Ionizing Radiation (for Medical Exposure) Regulations are adhered to.
    • Record accurate patient information relating to dose and use of consumables
    • Keep accurate patient records including recording radiation dose and exposure factors.
    • Providing a high standard of radiographic chest x-ray imaging, including the use of artificial intelligence (AI) for reading images whilst ensuring that patients receive high-quality care and linkage to appropriate services.
    • Liaising with relevant district/sub-district management teams and facilities for planning and allocation purposes.
    • Provides support and reassurance to patients who may be unwell or have barriers to understanding.

    Develop a sound knowledge of the equipment used to be aware of malfunctions and errors and to report them.

    • Participate in the district/sub-district and facility development of operational plans for the deployment of the mobile DCXR.
    • Maintain effective working relationships with outreach teams and facility staff
    • Liaise with the Radiologist for diagnostic and technical advice and support
    • Support referral and linkage to care for incidental CXR findings not requiring presumptive TB testing
    • Work with the team to ensure that all data is collected and verified to ensure data quality
    • Set up and prepare for daily activities
    • Supervise the teams to ensure day-to-day direct service delivery.

    Secondary responsibilities

    General Tests

    • Monitor indicator, mechanical and safety checks and document results quarterly
    • Monitor the availability and cracks of Gonad shields, lead aprons and gloves quarterly and annually
    • Monitor the appropriate technique chart display bi-annually

      X-ray Tubes and Generators

    • Ensure the alignment of the center of the Xray field and the bucky quarterly
    • Ensure that the Xray field dimensions in the plain of the image receptor correspond with those indicated by the beam-limiting device quarterly
    • Monitor congruency between Xray field and light field quarterly

    Automatic Exposure Control (AEC) Device

    • Ensure that all chambers are tested at four-month intervals
    • Monitor the sensitivity of the Computerized Radiography and Direct Digital Radiography system on acceptance and thereafter quarterly

      CR Reader

    • Monitor the dose indicator on acceptance and thereafter quarterly
    • Ensure image uniformity acceptance and thereafter quarterly
    • Monitor the conditions of cassettes and image plates quarterly

    Image display and reporting monitor

    • Ensure that the image display monitor is free from flicker bi-annually

    Reject analysis

    Maintain a record of the rejection analysis trends

    Knowledge and Competencies

    Senior Grants Manager

    SENIOR GRANTS MANAGER

    • The position will be responsible for all aspects of grants management within an allocated portfolio in Aurum, as well as providing business development services to assigned opportunities. This will include ensuring compliance with funder rules and regulations, both for proposal applications as well as implementation of projects and programmes. The position serves as the line of communication between the allocated programmes/projects, (internal) support departments and the Funders that offer funding.

    YOU WILL BE REQUIRED TO:

    Business Development:

    • Identify/source potential business in line with Aurum’s strategic objectives and participate in organisational discussions to develop new research and programmatic ideas
    • For selected donor opportunities, assist in the development process, ensure quality control and lead submission of funding proposals in conjunction with a technical lead
    • Direct the post-proposal submission period, including (if applicable) coordination of responses to questions; facilitate award/contract negotiation and finalisation, including potential subawards/subcontracts; facilitating post-submission debriefings and transition to delivery team(s)

    Grants and Contracts Management:

    • Manage the overall Grant/Contract administration for projects/programmes in portfolio
    • Ensure compliance with both internal and external (funder) policies and regulations
    • Ensure accurate and timeous submission of reports both internally and externally, including prior approval requests
    • Ensure optimal usage of donor funds and resources to meet programmatic – and/or project needs
    • Ensure effective sub-award/sub-contractor management including contract amendments, review and approval of reports and invoices, prior approval requests, disbursements and donor compliance.

    Programme Management Support:

    • Act as the liaison between Programme/Project Managers, Partners and other (internal) support departments
    • Act as a point of contact for donors and partner organisations
    • Assist in providing internal capacity development of Project Managers in terms of funder requirements, budgeting and financial management

    Human Capital Management (If Applicable):

    • Supervise and manage the duties of subordinates to ensure optimal staff utilisation and maintain sound labour relations
    • Perform and facilitate performance development and assessments
    • Coach, mentor and train subordinates and team members to ensure the acquisition of knowledge and skills required by the organisation
