PURPOSE OF THE JOB
- To safely prepare the tap floor and auxiliaries and to tap the furnace to recover molten product. To tap the furnace, monitor the metal and slag streams and to take responsibility of the tap platforms and the tapping process.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

- Participate and comply with SHEQ requirements (SHEQ Toolbox)
- Adhere to all related SOP’s, PTO’s, and CTO’s as per Training Matrix per position, SHEQ and company standards
CUSTOMERS
- Ensure Customer Satisfaction
- Mobilise resources to attend to plant stoppages as quickly and safely as possible
- Provide constant feedback to the plant production personnel with regards to the progress of any maintenance work on the plant
- Align the maintenance effort with plant production priorities
BUSINESS PROCESSES
- All duties as specified in Prod Operator Tapper M3M4 L2 Job Profile
- Ensure tap floor and auxiliaries are prepared for tapping
- Perform inspections on tapping drill and mud gun equipment
- Ensure correct alignment and operation of the tapping drill and mud gun
- Perform inspections on slag launder, alloy launder and casting bays for preparedness
- Ensure lancing equipment is safe and ready for use
- Overseeing and taking of samples and temperature with QRT’s
- Taking responsibility for lancing activities during abnormal furnace conditions
- Assist with Electrode additions
- Monitoring the slag and alloy run off during tapping
- Oversee the work at tap platform and coach and assist trainees
- Shift work
- Housekeeping standards on the tap floor and general plant cleaning
- Be prepared to work in a hot and dusty environment

Requirements
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
- Grade 12 / N3 or N3 that is equivalent to a Grade 12/ Matric (4x Technical subjects or 4x Business subjects and 2x Language subjects)
- Two year's relevant experience (operating relevant equipment, e.g. Tap hole drill and mud gun) in a Production environment.
- Driver’s Licence (Code 8/EB)
Advantageous:
- Experience of Plant Layout
- Overhead Crane license/ Ingot Tractor license
- Forklift license

PURPOSE OF THE JOB
- To safely load and offload goods. Also to bin and issue stock/non stock items from the stores as per stores procedures.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

- Identify and assess level of continuous risk exposures in area of responsibility by considering exposures to business, financial, legal issues, people, equipment, material, environment, processes, etc.
- Consider the level of risk, apply mitigation and implement control measures for residual risk (set objectives, minimum requirements, etc.)
- Ensure the OHSA and environmental standards are maintained
- Utilise the Information Management System (IMS) to initiate, investigate and report SHEQ status

BUSINESS PROCESSES
Offloading, moving and stacking goods by means of forklift
By offloading and stacking goods correctly, safely and according to standard at the designated areas
- Offloading goods

Loading, moving and stacking goods by means of forklift
By loading goods correctly, safely and according to standard
- Pull stock from correct bin location
- Loading of goods or deliver to plant
- Obtain proof of receipt

Receiving of goods (Stock and non-stock)
- Typically, this will only be expected when acting for the FA Administrator Receiving
- Use the GRV document generated and verify it against the material received and the receiving documentation/delivery note.
- Check totals and stamp and sign delivery note to accept goods received.
- Ensure incorrect/damaged goods are not off loaded and returned to suppliers
- Ensure documentation is returned to receiving clerk.
- Keep materials safely in the receiving area.
Issuing of Goods
- Use the GI document generated and issue the items according to the related info.
- Ensure items are inspected and counted correctly to ensure items are issued to the plant in a good condition and to the correct quantity and material code.
- Ensure documentation is filed and archived to related procedures
Housekeeping
- Housekeeping is the responsibility of all stores employees and the employee will be expected to contribute in the 5S system, related tasks and so to ensure housekeeping is maintained at an optimal level.
Binning
- Get GRV document from the receiving department and compare with items to be binned
- Control GRV document for outstanding reservations and issue outstanding reservations before binning
- Pack the balance of the goods in applicable bin as indicated on GRV document
- Complete and sign GRV as proof that items have been binned
- Verify and update bin labels as required
- Refer incorrect material to the inventory supervisor
Distributing
- Distribute non-stocked goods to requisitioners and obtain proof of receipt.
- File receiving documentation
Inventory Control and Administration
- Inspect, maintain and clean vehicle/s to MFC standards
- Complete daily inspection sheets and get them approved.
- Ensure safe keeping of goods during transit.
- Redirect goods if necessary and obtain proof of correct binning
- Control access to the stores areas
- Supply info and be part of the IMS process
- Perform ad hoc tasks as required
Requirements
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
- Grade 12/N3
- Code B driver’s license
- One year relevant experience in a warehouse
