Job Description    

• Novus Print Gauteng, a division of Novus Holdings, is currently seeking to appoint an Electronic Pre-Press Operator in our Hybrid (Heatset and Coldset) Pre-Press department, the position will be reporting to the Pre-Press Manager.

Key Duties and Responsibilities    

• Management of the digital workflow process of material received from clients
• Effective communication and interaction with clients and with the relevant production departments
• Ensure quality standards are adhered to, together with accurate record keeping
• Perform troubleshooting and fault finding on Pre-press equipment and machinery
• Adhere to all routine operator maintenance procedures on all Pre-press equipment and machinery
• Delivery of quality plates on time and in full to the Press department
• Ensure seamless workflow planning within the Pre-press department to ensure service delivery to internal and external clients
• Ensure adherence to all quality assurance and safety standards
• Ensure good housekeeping standards are maintained

Educational Requirements    

• Grade 12
• Must possess relevant trade certificate 

Experience Requirements    

• 5 years experience in an electronic Pre-press environment and working knowledge of imposition software 
• The position requires a willingness to work shifts, public holidays, and the occassional overtime

Skills and Competencies    

• Knowledge of artwork checks and processing, for the various print production
• Experience with working in Acrobat and knowledge of some design software
• Knowledge of Pre-press workflow processes, (Kodak Workshop, Preps Imposition and InSite software) or (Arkitex Client, Preps and Portal software). Knowledge of both will be to the applicant’s advantage
• Knowledge of relevant Pre-press quality control measures and procedures
• Knowledge of a plate processing line and plate chemistry
• Strong analysing, technical and problem-solving abilities
• Must be detail orientated whilst performing duties under extreme pressures
• Excellent communication, interpersonal skills, and time management abilities
• Knowledge of MS Outlook, MS Word, and MS Excel

• Novus Print: Montague Gardens is currently seeking to appoint an individual, with knowledge and experience in an FMCG printing environment to take on the role of a Reelstand Operator to ensure the accurate preparation of reels. The successful candidate will report directly to the Shift Leader in the Press department.

Key Duties and Responsibilities    

• Ensure correct paper size, grammage and check QTMS loaded.
• Assist with paper breaks and change over.
• Fault finding.
• Management of excess paper and prevention of spoilage.
• Ensure accurate preparation of reels to maintain desired quality within time tolerance.
• Assist on the press when required.
• Ensure good housekeeping standards are maintained.
• Adherence to safety procedures and operational maintenance.

Educational Requirements    

• Matric or equivalent

Experience Requirements    

• 1-2 years’ experience as a Reelstand Operator.
• Exposure to the Press room environment.

• Novus Print Montague Gardens is seeking to appoint two (2) UV Assistants in the Press department. The successful candidates will report to the Shift Leader.

Key Duties and Responsibilities    

• Responsible to ensure that the correct material is readily available for each job
• Manage and ensure the availability of correct consumables
• Replenishing of machine solvents
• Assist with running of the UV machinery
• Assist on the Reelstand and Stacker as per operational requirements
• Housekeeping and ensuring compliance with health and safety

Educational Requirements    

• Grade 12 or equivalent qualification.

Experience Requirements    

• 1-2 years’ experience in a FMCG environment.
• Previous experience in a similar role will be advantageous.
• Experience in handling and preparing reels of paper would be advantageous.

Job Description    

• Novus Print: Montague Gardens is seeking to appoint a Storeman on a temporary contract to receive, store and issue stock according to prescribed procedures and principles, whilst maintaining safe occupational safety standards within the Paper Stores department. The successful incumbent will report to the Paper Stores Supervisor. This position will be a dayshift position (Monday - Friday).

Key Duties and Responsibilities    

• Receiving, storing and issuing of stock according to prescribed procedures and principles 
• Knowledge of safety standard operating procedures relating to moving equipment 
• Maintaining safe occupational health and safety standards
• Maintenance and operating of clamp and forklift machines
• working knowledge of operating a hand held scanner
• Adherence to all company safety policies, procedures and SOP
• Ad-hoc tasks include general housekeeping and assistance within the department

Educational Requirements    

• Grade 12 or equivalent 
• Experience Requirements    
• Valid Forklift/Clamp license
• Valid Code 01 / A (Counterbalance Truck / Side Shift) and a valid Code 02 / C (Counterbalance truck / Clamps) license
• A minimum of 2 years experience in the same or similar role
• A minimum of 2 years experience in operating a forklift/clamp or any other moving equipment 
• Knowledge of the general layout of a production or manufacturing environment
