    Senior Engineering Technician - Wentworth

    Purpose of the Job

    Provide Logistics & Distribution, Aviation, Lubes & Chemicals with an efficient, professional engineering service that delivers a cost effective and competitive logistical and manufacturing infrastructure.

    Who you are:

    • You can lead and manage project teams and Engen appointed contractors.
    • You have worked in a Petrochemical industry preferably Depots, Terminals, Aviation, Lubes & Chemicals.
    • You have excellent interpersonal, problem solving, project management, Software i.e. AutoCAD, MS Projects, Excel and data analysis skills.
    • You have Contractor Management skills.
    • You are an expert in planning and organizing.
    • You have excellent conceptualization skills.
    • You have people management skills

    What you’ll have done before

    Baseline:

    • At least 5 years Engineering capacity within the Petrochemical industry related experience.
    • NQF 7 BSc Mechanical Engineering / B Tech Mechanical Engineering degree preferred.
    • Deep knowledge in Petrochemical industry specifically Depots, Terminals, Aviation, Lubes & Chemicals portfolio, associated knowledge of industry Engineering standards relating to Bulk Fuel Storage Facilities.
    • Knowledge of municipal by-laws, Acts and regulations.

    Advantageous:

    • ECSA Registration advantageous.

    What you’ll be doing

    • Provide Logistics & Distribution department with an efficient, professional Engineering service that delivers a safe; cost effective and competitive infrastructure.

    INFRASTRUCTURAL DESIGN 

    • Scope of Works produced and signed off by the Business.
    • Signoff on designs and ensure systems operates per design.
    • Improve infrastructure efficiencies.
    • Ensure designs aligned to relevant codes and best practices (SANS/API/PTS's)

    PROJECT MANAGEMENT

    • MOC management
    • Produce and communicate project plans
    • Successful management of approved funds with no over expenditure
    • Successful handover of Projects and "backup" support
    • Design documented and meets requirements of customer/client
    • Contractor supervision
    • Project resources required to perform the works
    • Leverage internal support from HSEQ and Procurement business partners.

    RISK MANAGEMENT

    • Projects executed safely and in compliance with all Engen HSEQ requirements.
    • MOC, HAZOP’s, Risk Assessments etc. compiled and documented.
    • All HSE incidents items closed in a timeous manner.
    • Plant 920G/E's inspections performed, and actions closed out

    Senior Reconciliation Accountant

    What You'll have done before

    Baseline:

    • NQF Level 6 (Diploma in Accounting)
    • Minimum 5 years’ experience performing accounting reconciliations.
    • 1 year experience performing complex reconciliations.
    • SAP experience (FI module)

    • NQF level 7 - Degree in accounting
    • Previous experience with performing complex intercompany reconciliations and reviewing bank, vendor or GL recons.

    What You'll be doing

    Intercompany and General Ledger Reconciliations

    • Reconciling assigned intercompany and general ledger accounts, following up on unreconciled items and ensuring that all reconciliations and journal corrections are approved to ensure effective business operations.

    Operations Activities

    • Perform month-end and year-end activities for accounts reconciliation by ensuring that the relevant activities and processes are followed, and deadlines are met in accordance to financial regulations.
    • Please note month-end and year-end overtime may be required.

    Query Handling

    • Manage new and ongoing queries through logging and resolving queries to ensure adherence to with agreed SLA.

    Reviewing bank reconciliations

    • Review the monthly bank age analysis and commentary, by providing a guidance and a plan of action to clear open items, ensuring that there are few or no long outstanding bank open items.

    Reviewing vendor reconciliations

    • Review assigned vendor reconciliations monthly for South Africa and the affiliates.

    Terminal Operator - Durban

    Purpose of the Job

    To operate assigned equipment or areas of the facility and perform operations related activities and take accountability for execution of routine and non-routine operations, including coordinating shift team activities in an optimum manner to ensure efficient running of operational activities.

    • Good knowledge of the operating equipment, chemical processes and overall facility operation.    

    Advantageous:

    • Diploma in Chemical Engineering or relevant.
    • Experience in Petro-Chemical product storage and movement.

    • Foster and sustain effective working relationships and rapport with the government authorities, business and management institutions, national and key industry players and service providers to keep abreast with latest development to capture new business opportunities.

    What you’ll be doing:

    • Ensure follow up on operating discipline principles, procedures and practices to ensure safe and efficient operation of assigned facility areas.
    • Operate and field checks process equipment and monitor process conditions, equipment and control systems.
    • Perform tasks assigned to operations as per electronic master task list (POINT eTASK) and electronic compliance task (POINT eGTASK). 
    • Perform structured rounds and monitors Equipment Reliability Operating Envelopes.
    • Prepare plant and equipment for maintenance and other activities and monitor maintenance activities in the area.
    • Report potential equipment problems to maintenance and perform minor maintenance and may use troubleshooting skills to resolve process related deviations and problems.
    • Ensure operational activities and process performance are aligned with facility and business goals.
    • Initiate incident & accident reporting and participates in root cause investigations if required.
    • Performs immediate response activities assigned by Immediate Response Leader.
    • EROE data capture and highlight deficiencies.
    • Shift log of usual/unusual activities and detailed handover and Runsheet updates.
    • Sampling and update labelling and log.
    • Uses process knowledge and skills to make improvements in facility performance and Operating discipline.
    • Perform process equipment troubleshooting, execute basic equipment care and utilise appropriate processes (SAP, site. , update procedure, PMOC, eIDEA).
    • Perform Permit Issuer as per authorization matrix Total Safety Task Instruction (TSTI) approval, eBSAFE, Auditee, eGTASK  at site
