    Shift Warehouse Controller (Peninsula)

    Job Description

    Our Talent Team is looking for a proactive & efficient Shift Warehouse Controller with great interpersonal skills to join our Vector Logistics team. The role will report into the Logistics Manager and will be based in the Peninsula.
    This position exists to control the processes of inbound, outbound and stock handling in order to maintain efficiency within the warehouse.

    Minimum Requirements

    Customer Liaison:

    • Instruct security to check staff when they leave for a tea or lunch break.
    • Ensure that all trucks leaving the warehouse are sealed and documented.
    • Verify the seals on warehouse doors every morning, after nightshift.

    Standards/Compliance Adherence:

    • Verify the temperature for the entire warehouse by looking at the temperature worksheet.

    Supply Planner - Westville

    Job Description

    • Our Talent Team is looking for someone who is brilliant at the basics to fill the role of Supply Planner with great attention to detail skills to join our Vector Logistics Operating Unit.
    • This position exists to prepare both the short term and longer term national supply plans (up to 24 month horizon capacity planning) in order to optimise customer service at minimal cost and to manage stock levels in the Vector network to meet the target stock holding by SKU. This will include working closely with the Principals’ / Customers supply planners and demand planning team to proactively ensure that there are no interruptions in supply.

    Minimum Requirements    

    • Relevant Bachelors Degree (Logistics or Supply Chain Degree Preferred).
    • 4 – 5 years operational experience within any planning function.
    • SAP knowledge and Professional certification (eg SAPIC’s CPIM) is an advantage.
    • Experience using SAP BW, Power BI, MS Excel SAP R3 and MS Office Suite.

    Duties & Responsibilities    
    Strategic Planning

    • Execute the degree of forward planning (3-6 months, 2 years etc.) as defined by management.

    Supply Planning

    • Develop the supply strategy and process for all SKU across the Vector network.
    • Identify exceptions where supply does not satisfy demand or where supply exceeds demand.
    • Develop alternate scenarios to address exceptions by closing the gap between supply and demand.
    • Develop the warehouse space requirements plan for the next 12 months on a rolling weekly basis and manage the accuracy thereof.
    • Work closely with the warehousing and transport planning teams to ensure that there is sufficient capacity to meet the national demand and supply requirements.
    • Collaborate with suppliers to ensure uninterrupted supply during the year.
    • Short Term Supply Planning
    • Review demand (demand forecasts and actual orders) and stock cover (days) requirements on a weekly (and daily when stock shortages are experienced) basis across all depots and stock holding positions.

    Stock Management

    • Calculate the stock targets by SKU by obtaining and using the relevant information to input in the inventory optimization model. (e.g. forecast accuracy, factory reliability, production cycle times, order lead time, customer service levels).
    • Propose stock level targets for agreement by the Outbound Supply Chain Planning management team (for both operational planning and budgeting processes) for both national and regional levels (for all stock holding points).
    • Review stock targets on a periodic basis (usually quarterly).
    • Make appropriate recommendation on stock where days cover either exceed maximum or are below minimum covers.
    • Proactively manage stock age, slow moving and obsolete stock across all stock holding points and make recommendations to clear stock.
    • Compile the warehouse capacity plans.

    Sales and Operations Planning

    • Develop the overall supply plan that will be used as input into the company-wide S&OP process.
    • Identify gaps and opportunities and make appropriate recommendations to close these with the

    Supply Planning Manager

    • Consolidate the supply planning packs required for the various S&OP meetings.

    Innovation / Discontinuation Coordination

    • Assist in the coordination for delivery of innovation into the supply chain.
    • Work closely with the replenishment teams to ensure sufficient stock covers at the time of new innovation launches as well as assist in the bleed-out of stock.
    • Report on a weekly basis on obsolete stock as well as plans to clear stock.
    • Ensure stock of new items is received timeously for go-live.

    Outbound Supply Chain Reporting

    • Update the scorecards with the relevant KPI’s on a weekly/monthly basis and issue them.
    • Issue the agreed national Outbound Supply Chain reports on a week/monthly basis as appropriate.
    • Understand the variances against targets for key KPI’s and provide explanations and corrective actions required.
    • Generate the agreed weekly supply planning packs and associated minutes.

    Team Supervision

    • Take ownership and accountability for tasks and activities as completed by the Assistant Supply Planner.
    • Ensure continuation of work if the Assistant Supply Planner is not available.
    • Monitor Assistant Supply Planner performance and provide feedback in this regard to the Supply Planning Manager.
    • Coach and support the Assistant Supply Planner to meet necessary objectives.

    Planning Manager - Boksburg

    Job Description    

    • This specific position that we are recruiting for is in SIQALO Foods Pty Ltd, a Remgro Group Company and market leader in Spreads with the well-known brands Rama, Stork and Flora. SIQALO Foods works in partnership with RCL Foods.
    • Our Talent Team are currently looking for a dynamic Planning Manager to join the SIQALO Foods Business. The role will be based at the Siqalo Plant in Boksburg and report to the Panning and Logistics Executive.

    The Planning Manager will be entrusted to manage the overall processes and resources of:

    • Inbound Raw and Packaging Material Store
    • 3rd Party onsite store
    • Production Planning
    • Demand Planning
    • Overseeing the 3rd party production and Planning
    • Customer collaboration

    Minimum Requirements    

    • Degree, preference given to the fields of logistics, supply chain management and Finance.
    • Minimum of 5 years experience in a planning role, Management of a team is advantageous.

    Duties & Responsibilities    
    Strategic Planning

    • Define the degree of forward planning (3 - 6 months, 2 years etc.) and execute accordingly.

    Functional Strategy into Action Operationalisation

    • Work in conjunction with the Logistics manager to co-create the outbound national strategy, based on a 1-2 year's view of requirements.
    • Ensure the agreed SIA is implemented through team targets and that these targets align cross functionally within area of responsibility.
    • Collaborate with the internal supply chain to ensure optimal run strategy to meet demand while keeping Stock covers low.

    Demand Forecasting and Management

    • To assist in driving the Sales and Operations Planning (S&OP) process by reviewing of the customer demand and supply resources, in order to reconcile the GAP and achieve the S&OP “one number”.
    • Record the assumptions behind the demand plan, risks and opportunities and provide these as input into the S&OP process.
    • Prepare and issue the S&OP packs for the S&OP meetings and input into the board pack.
    • Manage the demand forecasting process by customer and product group, where appropriate for 0 – 12 months, rolling.
    • Drive the delivery of a rough cut business forecast for months 13 – 24 to enable a longer term business forecast that will be used to drive decisions within the inbound supply chain.

    Short Term Supply Planning (Production Planning and MRP call-off)

    • Drive the delivery of a detailed production plan to the factory taking into account factory constraints (line capacity, labour/ shift patterns), distribution constraints (warehousing and transport) as well as internal inbound constraints (transporting of inhouse materials from other facilities) and external supplier constraints (eg: ingredients and packaging materials).
    • Manage detailed production planning and line scheduling. In daily and weekly buckets.
    • Ensure that the materials requirements plan supports the detailed weekly production plan, and that the call-off of these materials is done timeously so as not to impact production.
    • Ensure that products are prioritized in line with the “planning for profit” mindset and that the forward production plans issued to the plant will maintain stock covers for all SKU’s at the agreed days cover targets.
    • Manage production that is made at a third party.

    Stock Management (Finished Goods, Raw Materials, Packaging and Ingredients)

    • Manage national stock covers, ensuring that the minimum and maximum days target covers are set in a manner that takes into account variability of both demand and supply (ie: using an appropriate inventory planning model).
    • Manage stock builds to ensure that customer service levels, profitability and cost targets, as well as peak period capacity constraints are met.
    • When/where appropriate, agree stocking holding of specific materials or facilities with the Warehouse and Logistics Manager (FG).
    • Drive reductions on key cost drivers such as working capital, stock write-offs, transport and other stock variances. For raw and packaging materials, ensure sufficient focus on delivering improvements to ordering methods and stock holding policies, to drive down the costs of holding stock and improving business cash flow.
    • Liaise with the Warehouse and Logistics Manager to ensure that action is taken to prevent unnecessary costs and maintain a clean stock system.

    Material Requirements Planning (Packaging & Ingredients)

    • Ensure that the national material requirements plan that is generated is appropriate and meets the forward packaging and ingredients requirements for a rolling 12 month forward plan in weekly buckets.
    • Manage the company’s financial exposure to excessive stock holding and potential write-offs.
    • Work closely with the procurement team to determine opportunities for reduced stock holding, minimum order quantities and reducing overall complexity in packaging/ingredients through standardisation.
    • Ensure that the requirements plan for ingredients and packaging is completed for the annual budget process.
    • Oversee the packaging and ingredients stores to ensure appropriate stock levels to meet production requirements.
    • Oversee the Packaging and Ingredients Stores to physically protect stock, manage stock count variances and ensure availability of stock for production.

    Continuous Improvement

    • Drive continuous improvement in both forecast bias and customer service excellence by making recommendations for change using facts and trends learnt through appropriate analysis of data.

    Promotions Effectiveness

    • Work closely with the sales team to complete promotional effectiveness analysis and provide input into pricing decisions where appropriate.
    • Challenge the promotions grid where assumptions seem vague and/or off-take is out of line with past trends.
    • Work with the customer team to determine promotional activities volume and track the effectiveness of the promotions (costs vs. promotional volume increment).

    Innovation

    • Work with Marketing and Customer teams to develop the forecast for new products and to manage the discontinuation of products out of the business.
    • Drive the discontinuation process to ensure effective stock sell through, minimise write offs, maintain master data integrity.

    Portfolio Management

    • Complete the data analysis to provide input into discussions on portfolio management.
    • Make recommendations on where opportunities exist to remove SKU's from the portfolio using agreed guidelines.

    Customer Service Excellence

    • Work closely with the extended supply chain team to deliver customer service excellence (using data analysis on ordering patterns to make recommendations on lead times, order quantities, frequency of deliveries and input into the distribution incentives process).
    • Provide input into the distribution requirements planning process by sharing knowledge on promotions with the national supply planning team.
    • Deliver improved customer service reporting.

    Master Data and Hierarchy Management

    • Manage the maintenance and setting up of master data and hierarchies in accordance with both demand planning and sales requirements.
    • Manage the master data integrity through violation reporting to avoid delays in demand planning tool ability to forecast at SKU and customer level.

    Project Delivery

    • Participate as an integral member of cross functional teams to deliver business projects.
    • Initiate and drive improvement project within demand and supply planning to streamline the demand planning process.

    Staff Management

    • Monitor staff performance and provide regular feedback.
    • Establish sound staff and labour organising and communication structures and systems.
    • Lead the team towards meeting the strategy and targets through regular communication.

    Artisan Electrician - Pretoria West

    Job Description    

    • RCL FOODS is seeking an Artisan Electrician to join our Milling Site. The role will be based in Malelane and report to the Foreman: Electrical and mechanical. RCL FOODS is looking for an incumbent to maintain the site's machines in order to obtain their optimum efficiencies and ensure that all planned maintenance work is done according to the schedules.

    Minimum Requirements    

    • Trade tested Millwright or Electrician with N3.
    • N4 and above would be an added advantage.
    • Proof of the successful completion of a formal Institutionalised training programme.
    • Candidate must have experience with Packing machines.
    • Candidate must have experience with working with PLC’s.
    • Candidate must have experience with working on pneumatic systems.
    • Work experience of 5 years and above in a Packaging environment will be an added advantage.
    • Ability to read, write and communicate in English.
    • Computer Literacy.
    • Must have own Transport.
    • PLC Training (Programming). Preferred type is PLC Programming, Schneider Unity etc.
    • Experience on PL-7 Pro can be an added advantage.
    • HMI Programming.
    • SCADA training.
    • LAN Knowledge.
    • Specific Packing Machinery experience.

    Duties & Responsibilities    

    •     Maintaining all electrical equipment in the Malalane Packaging & Warehouse departments
    •     Writing of programs for PLC’s and HMI’s
    •     Maintaining, programming, commissioning, and fault find on VSD’s & soft Starters 220v -525V & PLC’s.
    •     Fault finding using PLC and Scada systems.
    •     Manage contingency for the obsolete PLC’s & HMI’s spares.
    •     Maintenance of Electrical backup systems e.g., UPS
    •     Maintain all Packing machines & ancillary equipment.
    •     Maintain Silo Chiller and Dehumidifier control system and ensure correct functionality of respective plant’s instruments (i.e        Temperature probes).
    •     Maintenance of all throughput and machine Scales 
    •    Maintenance and Fault finding on AC motors.
    •     Installation & programming of new/upgrade equipment.
    •     Doing fault finding on electrical equipment.
    •     Maintenance in Hazardous areas.

    •     Standby duties as per Standby roster.

    The ABM will support the Brand Manager to drive growth of the brand within the category through execution of the annual brand plan activity and will ideally possess the following:

    Minimum Requirements

    Duties & Responsibilities    
    Brand Custodianship and Communication Support:

    • Provide support to the Brand Manager in his/her role.
    • Contribute to the development and execution of the annual brand strategy.
    • Play a key role in brand guardianship – ensuring all communications and materials adhere to brand guidelines.
    • Execute and project manage agreed activities emanating from the marketing strategy and brand plans across a range of channels.
    • Conduct brand audits and competitor reviews for annual brand planning process.
    • Develop agency briefs and manage some interaction with agencies and partners, including RCL FOODS internal in-house Studio.
    • Assist in the identification and development of brand building ideas.
    • Support the management of digital content creation and social media content lens.
    • Closely monitor and analyze sales volumes, marketshare trends and competitive activity.
    • Campaign reporting and optimization and share and present learnings with broader marketing team when appropriate.

    Brand Innovation Support:

    • The marketing strategy and brand plans across a range of channels.
    • Project management and leadership of small and medium innovation projects (quantified by the business as bronze, silver).
    • Co projects lead big innovation projects (Gold and platinum).
    • Work closely with project management team of specialists on BOSCARDS and Gate document process.

    Stakeholder Management:

    • Work closely with Customer & Customer Marketing team on execution of instore initiatives and promotions.
    • Work closely with CMI team to leverage consumer insights to support execution of marketing plans.
    • 3rd party agencies and in house studio.

    Administration:

    • Administer and manage budget, raising POs, invoices.
    • Manage NPD gate documents and process.
    • Maintain and safeguard records, reports and NPD files.
    • Project management of key marketing activities for the brand that form part of the annual brand plans.
    • Executional support of Marketing communications initiatives across digital, instore, promotions and above the line, packaging.
    • Project management support and delivery of key innovation projects for the brand – renovation and NPD.
    • Campaign analysis and reporting.
    • Budget management, tracking and commentary on a regular basis.
