    Credit Head - Commercial Property Finance and Agriculture Portfolio

    FNB Rest of Africa Credit requires expertise to be built around supporting African countries in the specialist areas of Commercial Property Finance (CPF) and Agriculture. The incumbent will form part of the Rest of Africa origination team.

    The role will support Credit Originators in country and provide the following:

    Agriculture portfolio

    • Drive agri strategy for countries and ensure execution against this strategy.
    • Develop sound relationships with the Commercial SA Agri team and a good working relationship with the SA Agri Head of Credit.
    • Ensuring a deep understanding of factors impacting on cash flow including but not restricted to commodity prices in each country; rainfall and availability to irrigation water; USD and local currency factors
    • Support to the country originators with respect to structuring agriculture deals to mitigate risk for the bank.

    Commercial Property Finance Portfolio

    • Drive CPF strategy for countries and ensure execution against this strategy.
    • Develop sound relationships with the Commercial CPF Agri team and a good working relationship with the SA CPF Head of Credit.
    • Ensuring a deep understanding of the factors impacting the risks associated with CPF finance in each of the countries.
    • Support to the country originators with respect to structuring CPF deals to mitigate risk for the bank.

    The ideal candidate will have

    • At least 3 years Credit experience, preferably within a large financial institution
    • Assessing or advising on financial and business risks should form part of this experience
    • An understanding of Agricultural Credit and CPF Credit would be advantageous
    • Ability to analyse company financial statements and to identify and quantify financial and business risks
    • An interest in and understanding of African company’s and markets
    • General understanding of a variety of corporate banking products
    • CA(SA) qualification of Bcom in Finance

    Business Development Head (Commercial banking)

    Role Purpose

    To manage market positioning, market intelligence, new business, advances, reporting and structuring of more complex deals.

    Responsibilities

    • Achieve revenue targets by either growing a portfolio of existing clients (optimising revenue opportunities) or by acquiring new clients
    • Drive an Increase in average balance of specific portfolio of assets as defined in the Financial Performance Report of the business
    • Drive an increase in average balance of specific portfolio of liabilities (e.g. Call reports, 32 Day Deposits, Fixed Deposits) as defined in the Financial Performance Report of the Business
    • Achieve revenue targets by either growing a portfolio of existing clients (optimising revenue opportunities) or by acquiring new clients
    • Develop and implement differentiated service models for client segments
    • Build and maintain strategic relationships with internal and external parties to support the sales strategy
    • Maintenance of expert knowledge on relevant legislative amendments, industry best practices and provision of proactive advice and solutions to relevant stakeholders
    • Maximise Business Portfolio cross sell opportunities and strengthen client relationships
    • Provide sales support efficiencies and services in order to ensure retention of clients
    • Manage accounts and interests of top clients to ensure retention and growth
    • Contributes to the development and execution of the business unit strategy through the development and implementation of the People Strategy and operational objectives
    • Monitoring of changes in laws, regulations, initiatives and relevant industry practices, drafting and implementation of appropriate interventions
    • Development of materials and documentation including minimum standards, templates, guidelines, FAQ’s and processes
    • Development and maintenance of a network of experts to ensure communication of solutions, benefits, risks and innovations in area of specialisation
    • Comply with governance in terms of legislative and audit requirements
    • Develop rigorous business cases to drive new, differentiated market growth strategies (e.g. new product and market development) as well as defensive strategies to maintain market share
    • Monitor changes in legislation, regulations, initiatives and relevant industry practices. Ensure drafting and implementation of appropriate interventions. Ensure compliance with audit requirements
    • Coordinate and facilitate all approved strategic projects
    • Keep up to date with financial and economic developments to inform and support clients and provide clear analysis for all business processes and documentation to develop the business
    • Improve business decisions to enable innovative product development by providing accurate and reliable business intelligence (information). Develop a deep understanding of the technical trends, commercial market, competition and trends in the market

    Pricing Manager: Motorite Pricing Analytics

    Purpose:

    To plan, build, optimise and implement innovative quantitative analytics methodologies, procedures, products and advanced mathematical models that provide analytical support and interpret insights, using advanced analytics technologies, to address business opportunities and problems and implement business strategy.

    Responsibilities

    • Prevent wastage and identify process improvements to contain and reduce costs
    • Assess own performance through seeking timely and clear feedback and request training where appropriate
    • Utilise, refine and enhance advanced statistical models and data analysis to inform decision making and address business needs

    Role Requirements

    • Strong Actuarial background within the Insurance sector preferred
    • Completion of all C level Actuarial exams are a must have
    • Prior leadership of projects and/or people will be preferred
