    To manage and coordinate the execution of a portfolio of projects, through the leadership of cross-functional teams and project managers in order to deliver large scale business solutions within the required parameters in terms of scope, cost and quality.

    • Conduct quality assurance with project managers and cross-functional teams at intervals during the projects to ensure quality of output in the planning, risk management and execution of projects.

    JOB DESCRIPTION

    • The Savings and Investments product house is responsible for raising retail deposits for the Personal and Private Banking segment in South Africa. The product house manufactures innovative savings and investments solutions that addresses customer needs and manages both the income statement and balance sheet accordingly. The businesses mandate covers servicing of all PPB SA customers and is tasked with improving the deposit franchise / market share of the segment PPB SA segment.

    QUALIFICATIONS

    Minimum Qualification

    • Business Commerce Degree

    Experience

    • More than 10 years' experience in the design and development of client growth strategies. Experience in managing large business units with income statement and balance sheet accountability.
    • Experience with banking / financial industry products and services. Experience in leading, integrating and delivering client solutions through multi-disciplinary teams. Experience in managing a balance sheet and income statement.
    • More than 10 years' experience in managing products, delivering business value, managing teams, managing product lifecycle, managing IT projects.  Experience in business and value prioritisation and effectively managing front to back delivery teams i.e. business, specialised functions (SMEs) and IT delivery. 
    • Experience in effectively managing relationships across the value chain.  Experience in delivering multiple large-scale IT projects (from conception to delivery) simultaneously.  Strong financial background and good technical / IT understanding.

    Analyst, Construction Costing, RES

    JOB DESCRIPTION

    • To perform accurate cost estimation on client requirements and project scope for all Real Estate Services projects within South Africa in order to maximise the successful costing and commercial control of each project. Provide specialist technical expertise to the Standard Bank Group Procurement Function in order to finalise contractual agreements with suppliers and vendors and form part of the Cross Functional Sourcing Team to evaluate pricing, technical, commercial and other criteria.

    QUALIFICATIONS

    Qualifications

    • A first degree in Quantity Surveying would be a minimum requirement for this role.
    • Certification as a Quantity Surveyor would be required as this role acts as the financial and development consultant to the construction and property development for the Bank, providing advice  on the optimal use of funds to maximise resources.

    Experience:

    • Operational knowledge of Procurement processes and analysis of tenders. Familiarity with cost management. Ability to evaluate potential suppliers using criteria such as industry experience, capacity, quality standards and financial stability. Explain the Bank's expectations and standards and negotiate contract terms with vendors, in conjunction with Procurement.

    ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Review the lease agreements in order to determine the build and cost responsibilities of the landlord and the Bank and advise all relevant stakeholders accordingly.
    • Compare costs of different conceptual designs and / or architectural branch layouts in order to select the optimal vendors and service providers for RES Retail construction projects within South Africa.
    • Measure data integrity of source data for accuracy in order to accurately calculate standard prices for build activities from the data collected.
    • Perform accurate cost estimation based on client requirements and project scope to ensure fair and accurate finalisation of projects.
    • Act as the financial and development consultant to all construction and property development Retail projects within Standard Bank, South Africa, to advise clients on the optimal use of funds as well as strategies to maximise human and physical resources.
