    STO: Transport Network Management

    Role purpose:

    To provide assistance to the Transmission Fault management team. 

    Your responsibilities will include:

    To monitor the Transport/Transmission network and services.

    • To capture faults and manage incidents according to FM processes.
    • To diagnose and resolve faults remotely.
    • To apply network management tools effectively toward fault diagnosis and resolution.
    • To apply network management tools to determine customer and business impact.
    • To notify and escalate major incidents as per the fault handling and escalations procedures.
    • To liaise with internal and external support teams toward fault resolution.
    • To continually evaluate and improve existing processes and systems.
    • To analyze and report on routine and ad hoc investigations.
    • To keep up to date with network changes and evolving network architecture.
    • To display awareness of various functional areas and key support personnel.
    • Compile incident reports, and draw reports from tools to identify trends and problems.
    • Identify problems and capture problems as per FM processes.
    • Management of escalations and reporting for services.
    • Manage planned work.
    • Participate in departmental projects.
    • Provided Coaching.

    Provide support.

    Ideally you should possess the following:

    Matric/Grade 12 is essential.

    • Minimum Qualification – N6 Electrical Engineering / IT at the same level.
    • Job Experience – at least 2 years experience in Telecommunications/IT in the Network Operating Environment / Fault management will be an advantage.
    • Be proficient in MS Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
    • Java, SQL program language is an advantage.

    Job Requirements:

    • GSM knowledge.
    • IP Systems/Networks.  
    • Transport (Transmission) and Access Networks and Services. 
    • Infinera.
    • Nokia. 
    • Microwaves an advantage (SAIE, Hughes, Nera)
    • Related EMS for the above-mentioned vendor equipment.
    • Network Management processes and principles. 
    • Industry Standards and Frameworks.

    Specialist : Business Support Systems

    Role purpose:

    To design, develop, test and implement products and services in line with business requirements on BSS systems.
    Responsibilities include analyzing, designing technical stories, developing, documenting and testing of solutions against user requirements.

    Your responsibilities will include:

    • To define, implement, integrate and document technical solutions for BSS Systems which are Voucher Management System, Oracle Fusion Middleware and Database technologies.
    • Ensure that systems within BSS(Business Support Systems) department Conforms to Cybersecurity Guidelines.
    • To research/investigate current industry trends and implement solution using latest design standard and principles.
    • Provide high level support prior to products/services implementation, during products/services implementation and post products/services implementation.
    • Compile User Requirements Specifications documents (URS) for new products/services and systems enhancements.
    • Provide technical co-ordination of BSS initiatives, facilitate of workshops and requirements gathering sessions.
    • To ensure that projects are delivered according to business requirements and specified designs, technical and business teams must aligned around the same objectives and deliverables.

    Ideally you should possess the following:

    Matric/Grade 12 is essential.

    • 3 year Diploma/Degree in Electrical/Electronic/Computer Engineering, Computer Science or Information Technology (Essential).
    • 3 years working experience in the Technology Industry.
    • 3 years Relational Database and/or LDAP experience.
    • Some development experience and working knowledge of Oracle fusion will be an added advantage.
    • Must be prepared to travel.

    Job Knowledge:

    • SQL(Oracle database).
    • Web service(REST, SOAP and Json).
    • LDAP or Relational Database Systems.

    Senior Specialist: Service Planning Provisioning & High Level Support

    Job Description
    Role Purpose:

    Perform a deep dive analysis into transmission network performance and maintain diagnostic network performance tools. Deliver insights toward performance improvement and automated network solutions in the transmission domain to improve network availability and customer experience.

    Your responsibilities will include

    • Plan and implement all platform upgrades, software updates, probe insertions, statistics collection, switching signaling configuration, and performance reporting in the transmission network.
    • Support transmission engineers (both regional and centralized) for localization of performance network faults. 
    • Plan, configure and implement end-to-end performance monitoring.
    • Maintain database accuracy & interact with other role players to ensure conformance to business & security principles.
    • Train regional engineers in the use of transmission performance management systems and analytics.
    • Develop project plans to support network improvement opportunities concerning transmission networks.
    • Track performance and meet with suppliers monthly to improve on delivery, support & MTTR.

    Design and update performance dashboards for regional use.

    Ideally you should possess the following:

    • Matric/Grade 12 is essential.
    • B-Tech degree in Electrical or Electronic Engineering or IT-related degree.
    • Minimum 10 years of working experience in a Telecommunications environment.
    • Previous working experience in multi-vendor IP/MPLS & DWDM network environments is essential.
    • Programming training (C#, Python, and JavaScript) is advantageous.
    • Alignment with Vodacom SPIRIT values.

    Job Knowledge:

    • Detailed Mobile Telecommunications Knowledge. 
    • Expert IP/MPLS knowledge.

    Role purpose:

    The Manager: VB Care Enablement role is based within Vodacom Business Unit.

    The role of the Manager: VB Care Enablement will lead several Enablement capabilities and functions to drive the service transformation within the EBU CARE division.  

    Your responsibilities will include:

    Quality Assurance

    • Provide leadership in defining, Designing, Continuous Improvement and leading a best-in-class Quality assurance framework, to provide an independent perspective on performance.
    • Implement, deploy & Embed technological tools and techniques to distil quality insights into our improvement framework.

    MIS and Analytics 

    • Accountable for creating a performance culture, through the automation of reports and extraction of key insights.

    Workforce Management 

    • Coordinator the WFM function as well as ensure forecast accuracy across the front and back office estate.

    Project & Change Management 

    • Coordinator the WFM function as well as ensure forecast accuracy across the front and back office estate with the key focus of driving Efficiencies.
    • Ensure compliance with our Programme Increment process.
    • Project/Programme manage key initiatives to deliver on intended benefits – Key Interface into ELT and SLT.
    • Drive benefit realization of the change initiatives.

    Cost Management & Optimization

    • Accurate OPEX planning, integration and management of budget forecast.

    Ideally you should possess the following:

    • Matric/Grade 12 is essential.
    • Relevant 3-year tertiary qualification in Commerce, Science, Technology, or Engineering.
    • 5 to 7 years experience in the consulting or corporate environment with working experience in:
    • Business Analytics and data modeling.
    • Project and process management.
    • Operational Management - Experience in a customer-facing environment.
    • IT skills – modeling, analytics, etc.
    • Strong experience in Service / Demand Management.

    • Ability to apply product knowledge to industry problems, specific to the line of business and where required specific to customers.
