    Technical Personal Claims Consultant: Life

    Job Purpose

    To provide the expertise to accurately assess, investigate and process claims of a technical nature according to the parameters of the Long Term Insurance industry and Nedbank Insurance. These claims will include death, disability and critical illness amongst others, primarily focused on the first 3 aspects.

    Job Responsibilities

    • Comply with Service Level Agreement or Claims Protocol by administering and facilitating the claims process.
    • Reduce risk to Nedbank Group by monitoring, identifying and reporting trends in claims.
    • Build networks with stakeholders by participating in forums.
    • Identify, build and maintain relationships with stakeholders to understand their long term insurance needs.
    • Meet client needs by ensuring claims are processed according to service level agreement and insurance policy.
    • Initiate and process claims to finalisation by ensuring compliance to insurance policy.
    • Comply with Service Level Agreements by adhering to self imposed standards and timeframes.
    • Minimise risk by complying with all Nedbank policies and procedures.
    • Keep abreast of legislation and other industry changes that impacts on role by reading the relevant newsletters, websites and attending sessions.
    • Understand and embrace the Nedbank vision and demonstrate the values through interaction with team and stakeholders.
    • Improve personal capability and stay abreast of developments in field of expertise by identifying training courses and career progression for self through input and feedback from managers
    • Ensure personal growth and enable effectiveness in performance of roles and responsibilities by ensuring all learning activities are completed, experience practiced and certifications obtained and/or maintained within specified time frames.
    • Ensure information is provided correctly to stakeholders by maintaining and sharing knowledge with team.
    • Contribute to a culture conducive to the achievement of transformation goals by participating in Nedbank Culture building initiatives (e.g. staff surveys etc.).
    • Participate and support corporate social responsibility initiatives for the achievement of key business strategies.
    • Identify and recommend opportunities to enhance processes, systems and policies and support implementation of new processes, policies and systems.

    Essential Qualifications - NQF Level

    • Matric / Grade 12 / National Senior Certificate

    Preferred Requirements

    • OT qualification (or similar)
    • 3 – 5 years’ experience in a Claims environment
    • Knowledge of Life Insurance advantageous
    • Knowledge of insurance and industry legislation advantageous
    • Life Insurance qualification

    Minimum Experience Level

    2 - 3 years' experience working as a Long Term Technical Claims Consultant.

    Associate: Property Finance (KZN)

    Job Purpose

    To execute and implement complex transactions with targeted clients related to lending and other structured transactions (non-vanilla lending) and to source new commercial Property Finance transactions, ensure that existing Property Finance clients are maintained, and consequently that relationship-based business potential is optimised ensuring that maximum profitability / return is derived for the Bank. To ensure that Nedbank Property Finance remains the dominant player in the Property Finance market through innovative deal making and product structuring.

    Job Responsibilities

    • Preparation of credit papers (applications, memos, updates, reviews) by conducting historical financial analysis, financial modelling & debt scoping with related commentary, Industry & competitor analysis and sanctions screening.
    • Assist with the review of legal documents by cross referencing approved terms sheets and ensure incorporation of all other commercial terms in the legal documents.
    • Support effective execution of transactions by applying your skills, modelling, researching and analysing investment proposals.
    • Build and maintain internal stakeholder relationships by liaising and collaborating with relevant stakeholders and facilitating the sign-off of relevant transactions.
    • Manage development loans process, i.e. draws, stakeholder engagements to meet client's requirements.
    • Develop strong relationships with new and existing clients, property brokers, estate agents and any other into financing instruments to create deals.
    • Build and maintain existing relationship with established Clients within Region, retaining and optimising existing business opportunities.
    • Provide internal and external client satisfaction by ensuring operational excellence in dealing with client queries.
    • Identify new business opportunities within different divisions of Nedbank.
    • Achieve financial targets by effective acquisition of commercial and industrial property finance deals and management of the book / portfolio.
    • Continuously evaluate and mitigate the credit risk embedded within the environment and deals, to derive the maximum risk and return situation.
    • Continuously look for creative approaches to put deals on the book.
    • Manage colleagues and clients’ expectations and communicate appropriately.
    • Contribute to the effectiveness of the Lending team

    Essential Qualification

    • BCom (Accounting/Finance) or BSc in Property Studies or similar degree

    Preferred Qualification

    • CFA/ CA(SA)
    • Honours/Post-graduate qualification in Accounting/Finance or equivalent

    Minimum Experience Level

    • 3 - 5 years Deal structuring experience in Commercial Property Finance
    • 3 - 5 years’ experience in Commercial and Industrial Property Finance environment
    • 3 - 5 years’ experience in sales and client acquisition in a Commercial Property Finance environment

    NIR Sales Consultant

    Job Purpose

    To retain, maintain and increase Nedbank's client base through relevant need-based selling and servicing of financial products and services to the In-Retailer market segment.

    Job Responsibilities

    • Deliver on agreed sales and service opportunities by selling Nedbank products in identified In-retailer stores and communities (i.e. Boxer and Personal Loans).
    • Accept and implement advice to fulfill on sales opportunities and through involving local the community.
    • Understand and meet the In-retailer market client need through conducting client needs-based analysis aligned to Nedbank procedures and the FAIS Act.
    • Create synergy and build relationships with internal stakeholders by participating in collaboration meetings and adhering to standard operating procedures.
    • Build and maintain internal and external vendor and supplier relationships by identifying improvement opportunities and by meeting with vendors and suppliers according to Service Level Agreements.
    • Ensure work completed to plan, progress reviewed and corrective action taken by monitoring activities, reviewing action plans and taking corrective action.

    • Resolve challenges in community sales areas through following managerial escalation channels and by maintaining a client centric approach.
    • Identify and resolve work obstacles and problems through participating in team meetings, sharing information and reviewing performance against targets and standards.
