Primary Purpose of the Job
The primary objective of the Infrastructure Administrator is the effective monitoring, management, and administration of the infrastructure within the environment while adhering to the incident resolution, request fulfilment, and change management processes.
This encompasses the Data Centre environment, Servers, LAN and WAN infrastructure, Cloud and externally hosted infrastructure, Security and perimeter defence infrastructure, wireless, and last mile connectivity.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
- Adhere to the defined Service Level Agreement with regards to Incident Resolution, Request Fulfilment, and Change Management.
- Manage Major Incident resolution from cradle to grave.
- Proactively monitor the environment, identify and timeously implement mitigating solutions to identified capacity gaps and foreseeable incidents.
- Serve as a technical escalation point for the Service Management Team with regards to infrastructure related incidents and requests.
- Assist in the definition of infrastructure related tasks associated with internal and external infrastructure or business projects
- Deliver incident reporting with root cause analysis and mitigation recommendations.
- Document infrastructure, network and system data flow diagrams into the knowledge base or configuration management system.
- Define, populate, engage and update CMDB Cis (Configuration Items) associated with change management process
- Identify and mitigate Risks based on the Common Vulnerabilities and Exposures System (CVE).
- Identify process and knowledge gaps which may be addresses via formal training.
- Engage, define, and improve defined Information Security Framework control responsibilities as part of the ISMS
- Submit daily, weekly, and monthly reports to the Infrastructure Manager.
- Provide input into the monthly Operations reports on all infrastructure related matters.
- Manage incidents, requests, problems, tasks within the deployed service management system accurately and with detailed information and communication.
Requirements
Qualifications, Recognition of Prior Learning, Work Experience, and Knowledge
Qualifications/Recognition of Prior Learning equivalent
- Grade 12
- A+, N+, Server+, Azure Fundamentals, MCSE, ITIL V3/ITIL V4 Foundation
- NQF Level 6 IT related Qualification
- Azure Administrator Associate (advantageous)
- Azure Solutions Architect Expert (advantageous)
Work Experience
- Minimum of 5 years + ITSM Support Experience
- Minimum of 2 years + Enterprise Systems Administration Experience
- Experience in Banking or Financial services industry sectors
- Experience with supporting the Office 365 and Azure suites.
- Active Directory administration
Knowledge
- Understanding of networking fundamentals and administration
- Ability to troubleshoot network issues - LAN Routing and Switching troubleshooting (VLANs, IP Sub-netting, DHCP, DNS)
- Good knowledge of Windows Server (2008 ,2012, 2016, 2019)
- An excellent working knowledge of ITSM tools and workflows.

Description
- The team actively manages a varied and dynamic range of engagement types, including annual accounting, compilations and Independent Reviews. All parts of the BDO Annual work team use their skills, insight and integrity to handle the appointed engagements to enable BDO to deliver sustainable growth.
Actively participates in engagement teams, provides technical support to junior engagement staff in area of expertise. Assists Senior Accountant and management in application of processes in engagements to ensure compliance with the relevant standards and processes and advise on improvements identified in existing processes.

- Execute planned assignments as part of a team on each engagement:
- Annual write-up of accounting records utilising the firms preferred software tool, i.e. Xero, SAGE Online, Pastel Partner
- Compilation Engagements in terms of ISRS 4410
- Independent Review Engagements in terms of ISRE 2400
- Accounting Officer Engagements in terms of Close Corporations Act
- Proposing journals to client (via Senior / Manager)
- Drafting AFS per IFRS and IFRS for SMEs (Intermediate level)
- Performing basic tax computations for companies, close corporations and trusts (including SBC’s, special allowances (s12C, s12E, etc)
- Managing own WIP and budgets on engagements with the assistance of the Senior / Manager
- Updating Senior and manager on progress of engagements
- Assist other staff members where needed
- Other duties as may be required in line with the position.
- Implement and follow standard operating procedures and quality process manuals to ensure engagements meet the required standards. Provide feedback on areas of improvement
- Identify cross-selling opportunities of other BDO services to current clients and reporting to management
- Mentors junior staff and leads team in own area of expertise through on the job training and support.
- Delivers clear and coherent messages to Management on quantitative issues and reviews
- Attends required training
- Recommend areas of training and development to senior staff
