    Strategic Accounts Manager

    DESCRIPTION

    Amazon is hiring a Key Accounts Manager (KAM) to improve the experience for our African customers. Africa, represents a large and growing consumer market positioned for growth spurred by the increasing productive potential of its young population, rapid adoption of technology and evolving consumer behavior. This role will allow you to work across various internal and external teams to evaluate the customer landscapes, and invent innovative approaches to solve ambiguous problems.     We seeking a dynamic and motivated executive to manage key accounts. Specifically, this individual will be responsible for identifying and building relationships with key influencers and decision-makers within the executive teams of strategic accounts. Role's scope also includes program management for the selection strategy across all categories of the Marketplace (goal setting, tracking, driving business and problem-solving for the needs of the large SPs, etc.). The candidate will be highly organized, with a demonstrated track record of successfully juggling multiple projects with competing deadlines.     The role will be responsible for delivering new business growth and maximizing revenue generation across selected product families. The role will also work with a wide range of internal stakeholders both within and outside the country to support the consolidation of existing and development of new services and growth opportunities.

    Key job responsibilities

    • Manage strategic selling partner relationships – with senior stakeholder engagement (internal and external)
    • Develop a complete understanding of Selling Partner and end-customer needs and use that knowledge to influence roadmaps and priorities
    • Co-ordinate cross-functional teams, and communicate with internal and external stakeholders, while meeting tight deadlines for high visibility projects
    • Bring innovative ideas to the table, and drive stakeholder teams to support them, in order to find better ways of accomplishing our objectives
    • Identify Selection growth and selection parity improvement opportunities in the Marketplace, and build the programs and required processes to realize them
    • Transform customer insights into projects, features and processes that increases and diversifies the selection of products offered by Selling Partners across the Marketplace
    • Establish business goals, the supporting business metrics and success indicators

    Basic Qualifications

    This role supports and focuses on our Media and Content delivery services such as Cloudfront, Simple email service, Lambda @Edge, Transfer accelerator, AWS Elemental services (Video streaming and Transcoding), kinesis Video streams and Elastic Transcoder.     Basic Qualifications

    Full-stack Engineer - EC2 Console

    Job Summary

    DESCRIPTION

    The Amazon EC2 team is seeking Front-End Engineers (FEE’s) to create beautiful customer facing products and innovate to improve experiences for millions of users. The EC2 Console Development team is based in Cape Town, South Africa and builds and operates the web-based EC2 Console, one of the most widely used AWS consoles.

    Our mission is to enable our customers to learn, build, deploy, monitor and manage their EC2 infrastructure. We use rich data drawn from customer and product research as well as real time analytics to monitor and anticipate our customers’ needs. We then design and build innovative solutions for our customers using the latest web based technologies.

    In this role, you will develop new features and improvements for the EC2 Console, working with your team, product managers and UX designers to build web-based products that delight our customers. You will own customer facing features through the entire life-cycle, from design, implementation, testing, deployment and into production. You will work to optimize applications for performance and reliability.

    In your first few months in the EC2 Console, you will design and develop new features. You may help to migrate code to our new React based environment, and you’ll join your team’s on-call rotation, helping to support the console and improve our tooling and monitoring systems.

    • Experience in a similar role as a Technical Account Manager, Consultant, Solutions Architect, Platform Engineer, Systems Engineer, Cloud Architect etc.
    • Understand operational parameters and troubleshooting for four (4) of the following: Compute / Storage / Networking / CDN / Databases / DevOps / Big Data and Analytics / Security / Architecture / Applications Development in a distributed systems environment
    • External customer-facing experience with the ability to clearly articulate to small and large audiences
    • Ability to juggle tasks and projects in a fast-paced environment

    Preferred Qualifications

    • Professional experience with AWS and/or other cloud offerings such as Azure, Google Cloud Platform etc.
    • Programming or scripting skills with a combination of Java, Python Perl, Ruby, C#, and/or PHP
    • Previous experience as a Software Engineer, Developer, DevOps Engineer etc.
    • Understanding of DevOps practices and tools, including: Continuous Integration / Deployment, Puppet, Docker, Kubernetes, Chef etc.
